The hotel was short of towels so we had to wait for the hotel to finish drying the towels. Very limited parking stalls. Complementary breakfast was good. The fire alarm went off at 5:15am and we (and most guests) evacuated the property. It was a false alarm but someone couldn’t find the key to turn off the alarm. We were not ready to get up that early as we had a late night. It was very inconvenient for everyone.

Nicely located hotel in the centre of the town. Staff were friendly, even after having to deal with an irate customer, before me! We were woken up at 5am by a fire alarm, which was a new experience! Breakfast was basic, but acceptable and differed slightly everyday. Small fitness room and pool but didnt utilise, others did and looked ok. Car park fee is charged

A nice hotel in Kailua-Kona. A small pool area, bar, vending machines. Within 4-5 min walk to Alii Drive, the main strip in town. However immediately outside the hotel, it is somewhat limited. There is only one elevator and it can get busy at certain times of the day (eg. breakfast hour). Room rate included free breakfast ... in my case, biscuits & gravy, portugese sausage, scrambled egg, pancakes, bagels, cereals, yoghurt, juices, water, coffee. Reminded me of something you see at the Fairfield Inn breakfast. Room was pretty big, nice king sized bed, convenient outlets for recharging things. All in all, a very decent place to stay.

Clean and very comfortable. Really good breakfast. Very courteous and understanding staff. Two blocks from old town. Two negatives: Limited parking (but, still, $10/night nevertheless). (Very) slow elevator.

Spent one night on a 2 day excursion to the big island. Difficult to find because we used the address on the GPS but should have used the one on here. (Our directions took us the area NEXT to it but with one ways and fences we couldn’t get TO it). Once we figured it out, we were good. Parking was limited but the front desk helped us find a spot. Hotel was clean. Front desk was helpful. Felt safe. Breakfast was delicious!

Every attendant was friendly at the front desk. The complimentary breakfast was good. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. The room has everything you need in a room.

The front desk service was friendly. The room was clean with a microwave and they have a fitness room and pool and jacuzzi. The walk to the shops and the beach is close by.

Property located in central Kona and a close walk to shops and grocery stores. Good breakfast for a Holiday Inn. Be aware that parking spots are a little tight if you have a van or large SUV. Washing machines and dryer onsite are a little tired and could be replaced. Took two cycles in the dryer to get the job done. Overall would definitely stay again.

Asked for a full service with linen change; was not changed. Stayed 8 days our last day we had no housekeeping and no replenishment of towels

It was our first time in Hawaii and it was very stressful and disappointing. We were able to check in early, so we dropped off our suitcases in the room. Went to dinner, when we walked into the room there was a bunch of cockroaches at the door, then there was some all over our suitcases, tables, and the bed. Definitely an infestation of cockroaches, Definitely not safe to stay in that room. It was very stressful and disappointing that we experienced that. I went to talk to the front desk and they moved us to another room but we weren't able to sleep because of the thought of cockroaches coming out of no where. The girl working front desk didn't care that we were put in a room that had cockroaches, we had no where to go and that's the only reason we stayed there. No refund or compensation or upgrade in rooms was offered. It was very upsetting and stressful our first time in Hawaii.

We paid $500/night for a room with 2 queen beds and sofa bed. Very spacious room and bathroom, great location. However, beds were grossly dirty!!! Sheets and blankets were stained but we were so tired after a long travel day (we checked in very late) that it was too exhausting to ask for a new room. We slept with long pants and socks & over the blankets just to get through the night.

Had 2 rooms reserved. Both rooms smell like mold.

The staff was so accommodating and attentive. The housekeeping was done poorly. Took dirty towels and didn’t replace them. Toilet and floors were dirty for 3 days even after requests. I don’t think the floors were swept. We had a 2-week stay and kept getting sand in the bed because the floors were filthy.

I stayed here for a week and was less than impressed when it came to cleanliness. In the room it’s like the floor was never swept or mopped while I was there and even right when I arrived it was so dirty and you could see the dust under things as well. The little kuerig was never restocked with cups. The shower drain had a weird smell to it and the fan inside the bathroom barely worked. Pretty good soundproofing between walls but you can hear people above you when they walk around. I had a room that faced a parking lot/street so not the quietest at all times. There were some hiccups with the complimentary breakfast where one day the oven wasn’t working, the toasters sometimes worked or just burned whatever you put in it.

Damp musty smell in room

My stay here was very relaxing and my room was very spacious and clean.

Air conditioning did not work. Installed portable a/c which did not cool room for 24 hrs. Only thing they did was waive the parking charges.

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The worst thing about the hotel were the beds. They were very worn out, soft and sunk in the middle. Our backs hurt every day. We never had good sleep. When the maid cleaned our room, she only changed the sheets on the bed, added bathroom towels and toilet paper. The shower, toilet and sink were not cleaned. They gave us a late check out at 1pm on our last day. However, this didn’t help since our flight did not leave until 9pm. We asked about returning to take a shower later after checkout. They offered the pool shower bathroom instead of a courtesy room with a shower. They told us it would cost us an additional almost $400 for a few more hours until 6pm for a room. This was too expensive. We showered at a beach in our bathing suits and changed in the bathrooms there not far from the Kona airport. We expected more since we stayed there for 12 nights. We were on the third floor. At times, we heard kids running up and down the hallway and loud cars from the street. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. The free breakfast in the lobby opens at 6:30am-10am Monday -Friday. Weekend hours begin at 7am. The food was good-scrambled eggs, yogurt, bagels, bread, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, meat varies each day-sausage patties or links, bacon, chicken strips, juices, coffee, milk, cereals, fruit, etc. The parking lot was filled by 8pm-hard to find a spot. A lot of families with children stay at this hotel.

The room was large and clean. Only complaint is the bed was so firm I woke up in pain each morning.

No carpet in rooms so you can hear the room above you

Area was nice and room was as well. The only issue is that it sounded like something was chewing its way into or out of the air conditioner. This continued even when it was off but stopped for a while if I made noise.

I really enjoyed this hotel! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast is good. My only suggestion is that they get carpet in the rooms - I could hear the people upstairs walking around all of the time loudly. I had an issue with my first room and the staff was very nice and helped me get a new room. The pool is also very refreshing when it’s hot! I highly recommend staying here.

The front desk staff was great. Very helpful with restaurants and sights to see and visit.

Arrived at check in time 3Pm. Was unable to check in. Line up of people waiting. Took my time waiting thru line up. No rooms available yet. Had to wait 20 mins to check our luggage into storage waiting for a room. Was told they would call me once my room was available. Went for lunch . Did some shopping still no call. Walked back go hotel 2now 5:30 Pm waited in line. Room still not available. Had to wait as it was still being cleaned. 5:45 towaited in line again. Told it was ready just needed floors to dry another 10 mins. Could get room keys to access the pool until room was ready. . Waited 10 mins. Went thru line again. Was told i will have to wait longer. About 6 Pm finally got into our room. Random people with keys entered the room 3 while we were in it. Asked the manager to ctalk to us. No manager available yet.

The staff was exceptional. They orovided excellent customer service. They were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely blown away by the amazing service from staff at hotel. Donna went out of her way to help us and make our stay wonderful. Great location, large rooms and a comfortable bed.

Thr night receptionist was not very friendly

This was a great hotel, but the way they bill you is terrible. I was charged $1661 when we checked in the balance due plus deposit as expected. Then the day we left I was charged over $2300, almost $800 over what we should be charged, with the $1661 still pending in my account. I talked to the front desk and they said eventually it will balance correctly. I was just glad we could cover the two charges. The original charge of $1660 automatically was removed. I was just waiting for the $2300 to adjust. Last night another $1000 was withdrawn from my account from Holiday Inn which finally overdrew my account. A day and a half after check out and I am still waiting for the correct amount to be charged to my account. With a total of over $3300, more then twice my total bill, withdrawn from my account currently. This process of billing could really ruin someone’s vacation.

Unfriendly staff, poor parking situation, dirty bathroom, charged for parking without listing on their website, not very accommodating. We had to leave for our flight around 5:30am - breakfast items were out, but the staff was rude about allowing us to grab and go.

Comfortable, clean, quiet, convenient to restaurants and shops. Friendly check-in; called in advance and requested early check-in - they said they’d do their best to accommodate- and they did - was able to get keys to room a couple hours before official check in time. They also have locked luggage storage room for guests.

Our plain was late and they gave away our room. Had find some place else to stay late that night Would never attempt to stay there in the future

Great location in Kona - walkling distance to Ali'a drive, restaurants, dive shops, etc. Safe area. Nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast included. Clean quiet room with slight extra charge for parking. Lovely staff. Would stay there again!

I chose this hotel due to its location and it is close to the pier where most of our activities happen so it serves our needs. It also provides breakfast so we save some dine out expenses.

Good location, walkable to Kamakahonu beach and center of the city. Very good included breakfast.

Room AC was quiet unlike many hotels in Hawaii. Shower had strong water pressure, very rare. Front desk staff very friendly. Breakfast was decent. I notified front desk re problem with weight room (parade of guests come in to fill up water bottles, one guy filled up 6 half gallon bottles during my workout). Maybe move the filtered water station to the lobby? Hard to find hotel at night in the dark due to one way streets. Apple maps send you the wrong way. Great location to walk to shops and restaurants. I would stay here again.

Everything especially the breakfast

The room was as described. It was clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was good for thé first two days but then on other two days, there was no fruits and other items like oatmeal, coffee and hot water for tea ran out and not replenished. The front desk staff were polite, friendly and went out of their way to help. The laundry facility did not work because the credit card reader was not working. The pool, spa and fitness facility were well-maintained and quite enjoyable. Overall, our stay was very good.

Breakfast was advertised to be served until 10:00 am. There was no food by 9:20 & employees were already closing up. Unacceptable.

Good service and perfect location.we appreciated being able to get beach towels. The floors of the room could have been cleaner, but the room was made every day with fresh towels. The breakfast was just ok. Often out of coffee. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. There is a small pool and gym but we didn’t used the facilities.

They had their signature cinnamon rolls (ono) but they were not hot. Took them back to the room and nuked them.

The young lady (I think Mary) at the front desk was very helpful during the day. The gentleman in the evening was also helpful. The staff was very pleasant and our stay was enjoyable. The breakfast was good but would have like some yogurt that was Greek and diabetic friendly.

Great location, Shops nearby. They were out of food at breakfast. Sofa bed was not confortable.
