I have stayed here before and found it well maintained, clean, comfortable and safe. On this visit the hotel did not disappoint either, though the bar staff left a lot to be desired, three chatting while you wait in an empty bar is not good. A big contrast to the young man on reception, welcoming, quick and efficient. Convenient for Ipswich, Felixstowe and even Bury St Edmund are a very easy drive

Proper hotel with a decent lobby area containing easy chairs. Could not hear the traffic from the nearby A14 which was a nice surprise. The room was a very good size and well equipped with a huge (and comfy) bed, and a generous desk, only quibble being no easy chair (desk chair was top quality though!!). Not everyone wants to sit on the bed to read. Car park bays are shown by different coloured bricks, (no white paint at all) so are invisible in the dark and/or rain, might be an issue when the car park is full. There was a mix up about breakfast but we'll never know if that was a glitch in Expedia's systems or the Hotel's. Staff were super helpful. Anyway - would definitely go again

I made a mobile room service order around midnight, I waited about an hour before calling reception to ask what was happening with my order. I was informed that the mobile orders seem to glitch out and we’re not being sent to the kitchen/reception - after phoning it took about 20 mins before I got my food.

Staff were friendly & very helpful. Food was good and good value. Parking was excellent. Downstairs rooms were spacious. Very clean throughout. Very pleasant stay.

The staff were superb in helping our low-mobility family member. The hotel is easily accessed from the A14 and is handy for reaching the Nuffield Trust Hospital at Martlesham. Parking at the hotel is free of charge.

Front reception had excellent staff. Friendly, engaging and helpful. One bar staff was grumpy and rude. Room was clean and as facing away from the A12, quiet. Recommend and will stay again.

The staff were absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble and they made my husband, granddaughter and dog very welcome. The Sunday morning breakfast was a bit chaotic. Very busy and the hot food was disappearing very quickly, so there was always a key item missing. The staff were doing their best though. Lots of ceiling cobwebs in the room!

We really enjoyed our stay easy to find hotel not far from coast plenty of parking loved that we had a ground floor room but had no disturbances.

The hotel was nice. We had a suite and the room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The hotel overall looks tired and dated and is desperate for a refurb. The doors and windows at the back looked dreadful and were desperate to be painted. The carpets have been down so long it was like walking on paper. The staff were lovely and always helpful. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. The hot buffet was frankly poor. The fried eggs had been under the lights way too long. The yolk and white were solid and inedible. The scrambled eggs were also poor. Apparently they are made with fresh eggs but the taste and texture made me believe it was powdered. Dry and tasteless. No fresh bananas either day. One day you can understand they could have time out but 2 just says they haven’t been ordered. Maybe take the empty container and sign away? It was quiet which does make it difficult to have a rapid turnover of food but the hotel was fully booked so you have to question why so few chose to have breakfast. I have been to other Holiday Inns where the staff are threadbare as it is so busy. If I stayed at this hotel again I wouldn’t book breakfast. It was included for one night but we paid extra for the other. We stayed for 2 nights and there was no service to the room. Not end of the world but included in the room were drinks/snacks etc and we had used glasses/mugs. A member of staff knocked to see if we wanted anything but it should have been replenished without having to ask

The hotel was generally clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was a little tired looking and the room could have done with plugs by the bed and a shower that didn't soak the floor, but it was very spacious and perfectly comfortable. When we came back late from a wedding party the reception desk was unmanned (with a sign), but the computer was visibally still logged in and easy for anyone to access (mirror behind reception desk displayed this), which was a bit of a worrying GDPR failure waiting to happen.

The carpet was dirty, basic the buffet was limited for the price. There were boisy children running about in the bar area so no chance of having a quiet drink.The fire alarm went off about 8am ish.Sunday morning Maybe there should be a notification about the wedding then it would have given people the choice to book or notz. I think we deserve a refund or some vouchers.

Not too bad for a place to rest your head. Room was warm as there is no a/c and windows only open a hair. Fire alarm went off at 7:30am waking the family. No partial refund or services offered due to the interruption. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great stay. Room was very nice. Bathroom was very midern and smart. Breakfast was good. Reception lady was lovely and helpful too. Only tiny observation is the sealed unit window in our room had blown-wooden frames so probably due an upgrade in due course- with no detriment to our stay of course though.

Nice place and staff. Ideal location for my work. Only bad thing was lack of 240v socket near the bed, apart from a round pin socket! Fortunately I had extension lead with me!

King bed is not a king bed - it’s two singles zipped together on castors making it an uncomfortable sleep. Bathroom flooded with a short shower. Reported to reception and was told as they are busy it would be an inconvenience for housekeeping to move us. We were offered member points which we declined as we rarely stay in HI. We were offered 2 free drinks again - adding insult to injury. Hotel is noisy- you can hear other rooms, banging on floor above and the breakfast is overpriced for a cold selection of food. Nice enough staff but seemingly apologetic but happy to allow guests to continue in rooms they are unhappy with. Would never recommend.

Another fantastic stay at this hotel. Staff were amazing as always. Breakfast is wholesome and top rated. Good location to visit places in Suffolk and Norfolk. Will keep visiting every year!

I have stayed here before and found it well maintained, clean, comfortable and safe. On this visit the hotel did not disappoint either, though the bar staff left a lot to be desired, three chatting while you wait in an empty bar is not good. A big contrast to the young man on reception, welcoming, quick and efficient. Convenient for Ipswich, Felixstowe and even Bury St Edmund are a very easy drive

Another fantastic stay at this hotel. Staff were amazing as always. Breakfast is wholesome and top rated. Good location to visit places in Suffolk and Norfolk. Will keep visiting every year!

The staff were superb in helping our low-mobility family member. The hotel is easily accessed from the A14 and is handy for reaching the Nuffield Trust Hospital at Martlesham. Parking at the hotel is free of charge.

The hotel was nice. We had a suite and the room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The hotel overall looks tired and dated and is desperate for a refurb. The doors and windows at the back looked dreadful and were desperate to be painted. The carpets have been down so long it was like walking on paper. The staff were lovely and always helpful. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. The hot buffet was frankly poor. The fried eggs had been under the lights way too long. The yolk and white were solid and inedible. The scrambled eggs were also poor. Apparently they are made with fresh eggs but the taste and texture made me believe it was powdered. Dry and tasteless. No fresh bananas either day. One day you can understand they could have time out but 2 just says they haven’t been ordered. Maybe take the empty container and sign away? It was quiet which does make it difficult to have a rapid turnover of food but the hotel was fully booked so you have to question why so few chose to have breakfast. I have been to other Holiday Inns where the staff are threadbare as it is so busy. If I stayed at this hotel again I wouldn’t book breakfast. It was included for one night but we paid extra for the other. We stayed for 2 nights and there was no service to the room. Not end of the world but included in the room were drinks/snacks etc and we had used glasses/mugs. A member of staff knocked to see if we wanted anything but it should have been replenished without having to ask

Everything I'd expect from a Holiday Inn as far as the hotel is concerned. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars all around is that the restaurant was not great. We were limited to pizza (while the kitchen was still open) on Friday evening. While on Saturday evening there was a lack of staff so food took a long time to arrive and then when my food arrived the chicken was leathery. We were refunded 50% of the meal since we didn't want the drinks offered. I don't view this as a problem with the staff (who were all polite and helpful) but as a problem with the quality of the produce. The food served at breakfast was absolutely fine. Other than problems with the food the visit was fine.

We were so impressed with the standard of service we received - thanks to all the staff! We requested an early check in so that we could get changed in time for going to a wedding nearby, and nothing was a problem. The welcome we received each time we returned to the hotel was warm and genuine. The breakfast was delicious too. Again, it was no problem at all when we requested some vegan items. Nothing and no one could have been better!

The staff were absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble and they made my husband, granddaughter and dog very welcome. The Sunday morning breakfast was a bit chaotic. Very busy and the hot food was disappearing very quickly, so there was always a key item missing. The staff were doing their best though. Lots of ceiling cobwebs in the room!

Booked this as needed to be able to go to a workshop and too far to drive. Arrived easily, parking was easy. The check in was very smooth, and I had arrived in time to order food. The food was freshly cooked, staff service was a little slow but the bar was initially quiet. The room was clean and nicely furnished, very comfortable. I had paid for breakfast, there was the usual array of pastries, cereals and fruit. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast was not as good, food was left standing for too long, the scrambled eggs had seen better days, I avoided the cooked breakfast the next day. Convenient parking, welcoming professional & friendly staff on arrival. Nothing too much trouble. Room in convenient location and given the current heatwave quite cool. Also thoughtfully two fans provided. We were disturbed around 3am by other guests in the corridor outside our room. Room extremely clean, generous size & well equipped.

Average hotel, nice welcome from the man on reception and he was very helpful. Very basic room and no Aircon. Bar staff a little off,. Food was definitely average. Had the steak and it was tough! Bed was ok, breakfast -lots of choice. Like a lot of hotels these days a few upgrades would improve the experience.

This Holiday Inn provided a clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed. Just what we needed and at an affordable price. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was tasty (excellent croissants! But those horrible scrambled eggs?!). Dinner was disappointing. We ordered at about 7.20pm and waited over 45 mins for our food; something was wrong in the kitchen! So overall a good stay, but we won't dine there again.

The staff are always helpful and friendly whenever we stay at this hotel, which is one reasons we stay here when in Ipswich. The rooms are adequately furnished and always clean and fresh. The breakfast is plentiful and the staff in the dining room keep it clean, tables are cleared and re-set quickly. Although it is just off the A14 it is a quiet location with good parking.
