Nice spacious dining area. Outdoor warm pool great though could go with some sunshades. Indoor pool v hot but that’s why you come to mineral spar hotel. Only real complaint was gym, far too hot at 27 to 30c portable aircon woefully inadequate good range of weights and limited multi use gym machine, running machines totally dilapidated any way far too hot for aerobic exercise. Hotel is in great location for local restaurants and seeing hot springs. Also good base for exploring eastern end of island, Hotel was good (except for gym)

This is an absolute gem of a property the thermal iron variety of private pools with 24 hour access alone are worth coming here for. I loved the outdoor pool at night with the cooler air and warm water. I had a spa service the coco and it was the best body scrub massage I’ve experienced. The facility is so cool with a fun bar, amazing staff and delicious restaurant.

Die Lage und das Design des Hotels sind sehr schön aber vieles war etwas abgewohnt. Die Stühle in dem wunderbaren Fruehstuecksraum hatten z.B. alle durchgerissene Bezüge und das Badezimmer hatte schimmelige Fugen. Darueber hinaus hatten wir nur ein Zimmer mit Behindertenbad und relativ kleinem Fenster erhalten. Der Aufzug war defekt. Am ersten Tag war der Fruehstueckservice sehr schlecht. Trotz mehrmals Nachfragen bekamen wir keine weiteren Kaffee und die Tische wurden nicht abgeräumt. Die weiteren Tage war der Service aber gut.

The hotel staff and amenities were very nice . I do feel that the hotel and facilities could use an upgrade as paint was peeling and rooms seemed slightly dated. However this was overshadowed by the kind staff. Food was very good and breakfast buffet was very extensive and many options . Due to the thermal heat conditions , bugs: roaches (very small) may be encountered - I had 3 come up the drain in my shower but staff addressed it. We also had a plumbing issue (clogged shower drain in two rooms) for which the staff was very apologetic about and gave us extra treats like champagne and goodies. Overall a good stay. Beautiful park next door as well.

We had a couple issues with the our room, mostly that the shower didn’t drain and would overflow onto the bathroom floor within minutes. Das Octant liegt wunderbar inmitten von Furnas, in Angrenzung an einen Park. Die Zimmer sind schön, ebenfalls das Restaurant, die ganze Anlage bräuchte aber teilweise Renovierungen. Auch die Pools mit Thermalwasser haben uns gut gefallen, der Außenpool liegt an einer befahrenen Straße. Das Frühstück (Büffet mit Bestelloption von Kaffee und Eierspeisen) mit teilweise regionalen Produkten fanden wir auch sehr gut.

Amazing hotel! We enjoyed all of the amenities including the spa. The staff were all very warm and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was lovely, as well as the dinner we enjoys at the restaurant. Small complaint is that the closets in our pool access room smelt musty. We didn't want to keep any of our belongings in there.

The water features where amazing. The facility was beautiful, but a bit rough in some of the rooms from what appeared to be water damage.The staff was wonderful and genuinely interested in enhancing your stay. Joao helped us prepare a Cozido, where we placed food in a large pot that we later transported to the inground ovens heated by the volcano. It was delicious. Very memorable.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and felt welcome, comfortable and safe. We chose this hotel primarily because of the spa area with 2 pools and 3 saunas. We always really enjoyed this spa area. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The chambermaids even vacuumed the carpet every time they cleaned the room; we think that's absolutely brilliant. We only used the breakfast buffet; we really enjoyed it (especially the orange juice and the delicious scrambled eggs). We can only recommend this hotel; it's just great! Many thanks to the hotel!

My wife and I stayed here with our 8-month old boy, and we were blown away at the service at this property. The service was above and beyond. They treated us like royalty - everything was ready for us when we arrived. If we needed anything, they responded immediately getting us what we needed. The cleanliness, the staff, the grounds, the pools, the spa, and the breakfast were all amazing! We truly can’t recommend this property enough. The only critiques I have are: the food prep at the restaurant was inconsistent. We had dinner there three times and were underwhelmed with some of the dishes and recommendations from staff. Finally, the bed was very, very firm and lacked support. I am a tall guy in my late 30s, but I had considerable pain waking up each morning. Since everyone has a different opinion on mattress comfort, I don’t want that fact to affect my rating, but it was by far the biggest issue I had at Octant Furnas. Overall, though, if we make it back to this island, we will definitely stay here again.

Room was nice but no outdoor space. Pool area was great ,having a hot spring pool on site was lovely. Dining room was lovely with a nice atmosphere, food was a little bland and expensive. Bar area lacked atmosphere ad wasn’t very welcoming. There was a lovely area beside the dining room to sit but that didn’t seem to be used and had no bar which was a shame. Overall stay was good.

On the edge of the town, surrounded by beautiful Parkland. This small top of the range hotel really has no falts that I I could find. The service was great throughout, the decor and rooms were well appointed. The pools and spa were amazing, completely unique. I eat dinner and breakfast there and really, they were top notch. This is a rather boring review, but it must be one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It is expensive, and often hotels at this price can't be as good as you hope, but this one is, at least for me. Whether there's enough here to stay for, say, a week I'm not so sure. I stayed for one night and it was the most memorable part of my stay in the Azores.

This is an ecological style resort sitting atop of the thermal water source, a two-minute walk to boiling water wells (called Furnas), which, surprisingly coexist with 50-degree F naturally carbonated mineral water fountains. All that is in a quaint little town, which is home to an absolutely stunning garden filled with exotic flowers. Hiking trails all around allow you to get your fill of adventurous treks and stunning vistas. Then jump into one of several thermal water pools on property! Breakfast was amazing, featuring everything the island’s small scale farming culture has to offer. Dining menu was simple and reasonably priced. Drinks were slightly overpriced, except for locally brewed beer on tap. Parking on property is slightly limited, even slightly off season (mid September). Renting the smallest car that you can fit in is highly advisable! There’s no real highway on the island, and locals know how to drive, so we never felt unsafe in a compact.
