Wilderness Presidential Resort

Wilderness presidential is an amazing resort. We stayed in The presidential cabins which were amazing! They had two full baths and two bedrooms and also a sofa bed in the large living room. They had a full kitchen and a beautiful porch with two rocking chairs and a picnic table. The beds were a little hard but you never know what you're going to get when you're traveling . This area has their own pool which has a small little slide for kids so it's walkable and you could also walk to the lake if you're not sitting right on the lake, which is also awesome. They have two other pools. One is indoor. One is outdoor by the lake. The outdoor pool has a diving board and they have so many activities. The adventure Park was the favorite of the kids with zip lines and rock climbing. Many many more things to do. The little store was open with food options but the restaurant was closed. So make sure you bring food with you or be ready to go out to eat. All in all it was an amazing trip!

The grandkids had a great time, lots of other kids and things to do. One negative we planned the last day around doing the escape room at the end. When we arrived we found out they double booked it, and we weren't able to go since we were leaving in the morning. That was very disappointing for the kids who were looking forward to it the whole trip.

This was my first time here. We were visiting from Tennessee. The cabins were clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in was super easy and quick. The pools are nice, big and clean. There are plenty of activities to do at no extra cost. It was nice to have dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, paper towels provided in the cabin. We definitely are coming back for a longer stay!

We recently stayed for a weekend for my teenager’s birthday and we all had a blast! A lot of family activities to keep us all busy. The only thing that was inconsistent was the WiFi connection. It was challenging to hop on a few meetings but made it work.

Overall, our stay was good. Location is great. Public areas were very clean and well kept. It was a little unexpected and odd seeing all of the permanent camping throughout the resort. The indoor pool was large and well maintained - just had several groups of screaming undisciplined children when we were trying to enjoy. The 2 disc golf courses were very nice and we really enjoyed playing both. We stayed in a cottage on the lake. It was nicely situated. It did have a kitchenette with basic necessities - just don't expect to cook full meals in it. Several broken curtain rods, and an alarm clock that we unplugged for safety (it was making a weird, wheezing beeping noise when we arrived)And the beds were absolutely terrible. The main bed was so bad we even thought about using the fold out sofa bed, but it was even worse. Hubby decided they must have sourced from the same supplier as the El Salvador prison system. Really, it was that bad in our opinion. Also, the water heater cycled between scalding and Antarctica - if you run hot water in a sink during showering, it helps moderate the temp (but not the bathroom sink as it was slow-draining). Overall was not the worst choice in places to stay, but would not book again.

Cabin we stayed in was very clean and kitchen was well-stocked. No spider webs outside. Quiet at night! Gas grills are even available for use. Pool was clean. Lots of things to do! The two bed/two bath cabin was a great alternative to hotel rooms with the kitchen, living room and front porch space.

It was relaxing. The wifi wasn't great but that helped keep my kids off their devices as much. The facilities were nice, plenty of things to do

This was a two day stay I booked for my sons birthday because he wanted to go fishing and it was worth it! They have the cutest little cabins with a huge property and many different fishing spots so he was very happy! The campground has a beach area, indoor pool, many playgrounds located all over and different activities everyday! There’s also puttputt and a rope course! So much more is there but I can’t fit into this review but this place is different a hidden gem here in town!

Staff was nice, security was very kind to guide us to our cabin in the dark. We arrived after closing time so security checked us in. They where kind and explained eveything well. We stayed during the weekday so the pool outside was closed. I did try the pool inside but it looked like it needed some deep cleaning. I asked about the pool outside but they said it was closed. Pool outside looked well kept. They recommend we swim by the lake in the beach area but there was geese poop on the sand. We did the pattel boat ride for an hour. No life jackets where offered to me or my family. Not sure what the legal use of a life jacket in virgiana is but in georgia it's the law to wear one. I felt a little unsafe and uncomfortable being on the battle boat without it. Scenery was nice in the water, we got to see wild life while on the boat. We also played mini golf course which was very nice. We mainly stayed for a wedding event which they offered a dicount to guests but when I called to make a reservation they told me they did not have any cabins available but their online website had planty available which we rented through without the guest discount. The club house where the event was held was very nice and we enjoyed that day the best. Our stay was okay in the cabins, it looked like they patroled the area a couble of times which made me feel safer. Overall our stay was okay not something I'd travel over 12h again to go to though.

Everything was so smooth, from the check in to check out. We really enjoyed the beautiful water views and the hot tub! I wish the indoor pool was open a little later, but the kids were able to get in an hour of swimming before it closed. The cabin was well stocked with all essentials and was clean and cozy! We will be back for sure!

What a fantastic place to stay. The cabins are beautiful and sparkling clean. The beds are comfortable. The kitchens have everything one could ask for. The only minor suggestion is possibly bring an extra blanket or comforter.

Great cabin. Great customer service. Only issue is that the hot tub water wasn't really clean.

Beautiful cabins, I wish a longer stay would have been planned. You need at least 3 days here to enjoy the activities and view—outside the cabin. Each cabin looked and smelled of new wood and had VERY clean interiors. Everyone from the phone staff to the security were friendly and personable. Better and cheaper than any hotel I’ve stayed at this year. Coming here again as soon as I can

I thought the people who worked at the campground went out of their way to be kind and helpful. It's location near Civil War historical sites was wonderful. The cabin itself needs upgrades. You sink so far into the couch it's difficult to get back out. The mattress in all beds need to be replaced as well.The thing that really turned us off was the large black ants in the bathroom. Not sure if I would go back

Poor TV reception, and bugs

This cabin seemed as though it hadn’t been rented in a long time. Dirt piles were on all surfaces including sheets and pillows. Running the hot water for 2 minutes created an intense rotten egg smell throughout entire cabin which lasted for hours. Had to run the hot water for 30 minutes to clear the lines. Very disappointed!

We had a cabin by the water. It was beautiful and relaxing. There were activities and recreational facilities available. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Only con was the beds... very hard mattresses, even with a foam topper.

Cosy cabin, spacious, clean and quiet. I would recommend this place.

Everything was very good, the only thing was the telephone wasn’t working, internet very slow and the bathroom towel don’t dry you up., little things, but the place is super clean the floors uffff so clean, thank you.

The beds were a little hard for my liking. Maybe some foam toppers would help out. But over all we had a great time with the family. We had a total of 3 cabins rented out this weekend.

Overall it was a great experience, our cabin was nice and cleaned. The only down side was the communication i was given some passes but i wasnt told where to or how to used them, some of the recreational activities where closed. But Overall had a great time with my family

So nowhere did the Hotels ad inform us that this was a whole RESORT. Like 700 acres of resort with an activity schedule and stuff to do everyday! That was a really cool bonus, but the ad made it seem like a small collection of tiny houses, nothing more. So when i areived at midnight, we had our Uber driver drop us, two adults and 3 children under 8, off at the main building. Thank god for Philip with security!!! He helped see the funny side and empathized with me after the major travel struggles we encountered. He didnt make us walk the near mile distance with our 3 kids, who at this point were asleep on the sidewalk, and arranged for security to give us a ride to our cabin. Philip was the highlight of my entire trip to Virginia!

Steep steps to cabin was unexpected. No way to light campfire. Dust mites bothered me at sofa. Curtain rods pitiful. We were told the store was closed when we checked in. We expected the visitor center and store to be open based on property description. When we were leaving we found the store open.

Heater was broken and they chanced our cabin. We got some trouble So our holiday was interrupted.

We loved our stay and plan on returning in the future for a longer stay so we can experience more. It was about the same cost as a hotel stay, but with more of a home feel and a lot more room. I also enjoyed the view of the lake from our front porch. If I could suggeat one little change, maybe open the gym a little earlier than 9am, but that's all.

Loved the hot tub and the lake. do not be like me and get dropped off at the front entrance - bring a car! they were nice enough to give me rides to and from the cottage, however once I arrived at my cabin I didn't leave

Very safe. Nice scenery.

overall it was better than i expected. easy to access from the main highway (route 3), peaceful, helpful security staff, and the cabin was in very good shape. everything promised was present, clean and worked well. the only downside was that to get to my cabin one must pass some campers and motor homes that looked as if they'd been abandoned for quite some time. however, the result was aesthetic only -- there were no practical implications. since we were there very early spring, there were few others around -- which suited us fine.
