The room was adequate but the toilet and washbasin had cracks...hygiene issue?. The breakfast... smallest portion of baked beans I've ever had. Counted them, 18 in total. Drinks expensive. Pint of Guinness and medium white wine with dash of lemonade £14.75. Finally, advertised as a Spa hotel but access to the spa additional charge of £10 per hour!. Didn't bother.

A great place to stay close to all the amenities in Llangollen. Very friendly staff without exception. Delicious food with a wide choice including vegan dishes. Spa was excellent with a big hydro pool.

Overall we had a great stay , if you’re interested in the spa or just using the pool you have to book a slot , as only 12 people at a time can use it , so book your spot , facilities are good , breakfast was not very big but well cooked and tasty , and I think the bar is a little expensive, but it’s a 4 star hotel so you kind of expect it . The hotel is miles better than anywhere near from what I seen and the staff were all very friendly

Our stay was comfortable enough thought it ridiculous not to have a fridge in the room no phone in the room no air conditioning the room was stuffy and the window only opened a couple of inches. To pay extra for the spa was a little too much and it was very dated and some of the spa jets didnt even work. Extra $ for towels too. The steam room didnt work either

Great hotel in nice location. Pleasant and clean inside hotel and room with nice grounds.Had dinner in the cheaper Glasshouse restaurant which was reasonable value. Only slight negative would be have to pay for use of spa if not booking direct. Not cheap at £20 for an hour and the spa isn't the best with insufficient room to swim properly and water not quite warm enough to sit about in (also best area for sitting the jets weren't working).

Lovely hotel in well kept grounds which are a pleasure to walk around and sit in having a nice drink. Spa excellent and staff pleasant and friendly. food: evening meal and breakfast very good with plenty of choice from menu. Easy walk into centre of llangollen town alongside the river.

The hotel is lovely. Staff where very pleasant. Free parking. A short walk to the main town. We didnt try the breakfast as we wanted to go to Llangollen once we had checked out to get breakfast and look around. I booked the hotel for the spa, you can book on line or at reception for £10 per person for 2 hours. The steam room and sauna are a decent size, the jaccuzzi pool area is small and I felt a bit awkward, being so close to people, it wasnt the relaxing experience I had hoped for and the chlorine really stung both my partner and my eyes. I wanted to book a massage but there was no availability, so id recommend to book prior to arriving. Next doors tv could be heard through the wall at 1am, but it didnt stop us from going asleep. Pack earplugs just incase ha. Beds very comfy. Its a lovely place, garden areas are very well kept. Like I say the only thing was the spa , but I will buy a pair of goggles and would come back. Maybe if you book in advance its not as busy?

4 stars? Really? Great location, pleasant staff, but not quite Travelodge class: standard room clean, fairly comfortable; old single-glazed windows, and heating switched off most of the day. A/C is a fan; flat pack furniture; tatty units in an otherwise reasonably modern shower room (no bath); loo roll somewhere behind your right elbow. WiFi reception only near our door. Spa is extra (first hour free if book direct).

The food in the restaurant was ok but not great for the price paid, had beef and noodles and beef was quiet dry, we ate out 2nd night. The spa was chargeable even though we were hotel guests which I found annoying as most hotels with spas let guests use free of charge. When we did pay to use it the spa pool wasn't very warm and some of the jets weren't working. Not worth the £10 paid. Also to hire a robe they wanted £7.50! Breakfast also chargeable again for a 4* hotel didn't expect that. So a reasonable priced weekend away turned into an expensive one!

Whilst the room had been made and cleaned they had missed a pile of dirt on the floor next to the bin and in a top bedside drawer was a dirty tissue and empty tablet wrapper and sandwich type bag Paid £15 for breakfast luckily only once as was a bit cold and badly cooked,definitely not worth the money

Due to the state of our room - it was filthy, the bins were not emptied and the bed had not been made properly; I complained to reception. The receptionis came to check what it was like, and then a member of the housekeeping staff was sent to check. Everyone agreed that the room was in a terrible state. I was then offered a replacement room, opposite the one I had been allocated. This room was equally as bad, so I decided I would not risk the option of a third room, and checked out. I had booked the room via Hotels.com and approached them about a refund. The hotel did not quibble (showing that what I am writing is correct), I got all of my money back. I am not saying this is a bad hotel; the staff were very friendly, and it is in a lovely position. I do feel they should sack the cleaning staff, to save the reputation of the hotel.

First complaint after staying in 40+ hotels via hotels.com. Room cleanliness was poor. No surfaces had been wiped down and the toilet hadn’t been properly cleaned. Bed lining was ripped and contained marks. The shower didn’t drain which meant standing in dirty water whilst showering. The receptionist didn’t bother to ask how my stay was as I was checking out. Poor all round.

The fact that the bedding was soiled was an absolute disgrace. The bed was very uncomfortable and the lack of plug sockets, especially next to the bed caused an issue as my husband has sleep apnea and requires a cpap machine to sleep

Upon check in we were advised that the spa was busy and to book which we did. Additional charges added for late check out and the dog. Room was clean and had a handy patio door for the dog. The spa wasn’t the cleanest and after only 10 minutes we were asked to leave due to an electrical issue. I had to look for reception staff to speak with which was frustrating. We were disturbed in the morning on two occasions by room staff as our room notes didn’t show the late check out. This was a special birthday and was disappointing.

A very pleasant hotel, a nice location, clean, spacious comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. The bar was nice to have a drink in and the breakfast was tasty and good quality. A nice quiet location too a short walk from Llangollen town centre

The beautifully maintained garden is a pleasant welcome to the Wild Pheasant. All within is clean and tidy. Our room was spacious and comfortable. However, the lack of air conditioning and south facing windows made the room hot, even in early May. A fan is provided, but I doubt whether it is sufficient on a summer day.

Property was elegant from the outside reception area very nice staff welcoming. My room was very difficult to get to many doors to go through with a large suitcase's. Room was generally nice very old inside needed an update. Bed was older had a ridge in the middle linen was very clean. Shower and toilet clean. Sink was older with lots of scratch marks and a chip off the sink and rusty around sink unit. I would not stay at this property again especially at the price I paid. The photographs did not reflect the room I booked.

Pestered me to upgrade so I did got confirmation saying it had been excepted. On arrival told there are no executive rooms. No apology. Then informed we had to pay to go in the spa. When I rang they said we get an hour free. Walls so thin the TV and toilet from next door kept us awake most of the night.

Check in was at 3pm. Our room was not ready until 330pm. We were given a double when we booked a twin, so after being shown to the wrong room that took extra time to sort out. We ended up in a room that had a view on to a flat roof with a massive silver pipe that was the kitchen extractor fan, which was very noisy and didn't go off until midnight. Don't stay in room 204! We only stayed one night so it wasnt worth asking to kove after alresdy having to move once due to the wrong beds.

From the moment I walked through the door the immediate comfort and expectation was met! Booked 20 rooms unhelpful unfriendly staff at check in and out rooms not ready then after spending at the bar to not even sitting down with drinks some guests that were still at reception had there keys gradually we all went back and with in 5 minutes rooms were ready if given keys could have gone straight to there rooms not go straight to bar

Overall average stay. Slept very well and the beds were extremely comfy. Staff were very helpful but could have been a bit warmer. We asked for our room to be cleaned but it was not. Facilities and rooms are a bit dated. Breakfast was not nice at all, terrible sausages. Got our order wrong. Wont be back unfortunately.

Pestered me to upgrade so I did got confirmation saying it had been excepted. On arrival told there are no executive rooms. No apology. Then informed we had to pay to go in the spa. When I rang they said we get an hour free. Walls so thin the TV and toilet from next door kept us awake most of the night.

Lack of staff meant being locked out of our room as the keycard battery died. The young lady on reception tried her best but for some reason the spares are kept in a locked safe by the manager. She was busy and didn’t seem to care whilst she tended to an almost empty restaurant.

The receptionist on arrival was quite frosty towards us. We were told we had to pay an extra £10 per person for 1 hour in the spa and £5 thereafter, which although is part of their policy, her attitude towards us, made us reluctant to book a session in the spa. However, the lady who served us at breakfast was very pleasant and accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel valued and respected. The hotel is a short stroll from the bustling town, where there are a wide range of shops and eating establishments. The bathroom in our room was quite tired and not really thought through. The tiled shower floor was slippy when wet, they may have used wall tiles here rather than floor tiles.

I paid for breakfast in advance but there was no record on their side and I was being asked for a receipt before I left. Having to show my bank statements as proof for an admin error seemed unusual. Absolutely perfect stay here. The only thing I have a complaint about is that the faucets are too close to the back of the sink basin. That’s it, and manageable. Everything about the stay was perfect. Windows that open for Fall fresh air, well stocked amenities, comfortable beds, very clean, great location to the River Dee and downtown, staff was very kind.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and she loved it from first site of the grounds and the hotel. It was a short walk into Llangollen where we had access to restaurants and pubs, plus the River Dee and the canal.

Lovely hotel in a great location just a 10 min walk along the river to the main town of Llangollen . Comfy well decorated room ,hotel and grounds were very neat . All the staff I encountered were very friendly .

Whilst the room had been made and cleaned they had missed a pile of dirt on the floor next to the bin and in a top bedside drawer was a dirty tissue and empty tablet wrapper and sandwich type bag Paid £15 for breakfast luckily only once as was a bit cold and badly cooked,definitely not worth the money

We stayed for two nights. We ate in both the restaurants which were both very good and the staff was lovely. A little pricey but good menus at both. Convenient to town. You could probably walk.

Had a lovely stay at the Wild Pheasant when attending a concert in Llangollen Pavillion. It's about 10 minutes walk into Llangollen and about the same to the Pavillion. All staff encountered were really friendly and helpful. Room was lovely, clean and spacious. More available electric sockets in room would have been good Had a meal from the Glasshouse in the afternoon and it was excellent. Breakfast was great. Would recommend.

I had looked forward to staying here. Left disappointed. The bed was not comgortable, very cheap quilt and extremley lumpy pillows. At very few in the restaurant but some food unavailable. The chicken Snitzel( thin bread crumb coated oece of chicken on some rocket, french fries and a smsll jug of what tasted like mushroom soup was not good and i noted our neighbouring table was nor impressed for £19.99. If we had wanted soup, that was an afitional £9.99. A 10% obligatory service charge too. Barely slept due to very lumpy pillows and nor did my don. Rudely awakened early due to paper thin walls i could hear the very long, loud telephone conversation of the gentleman in the next room that went on for two hours +. To add insult to injury, the hotel charges £10 just to enter the spa, let alone anything else whoch is an added cost. Sadly disappointed. I wont be returning

The spa was chargeable even though we were hotel guests which I found annoying as most hotels with spas let guests use free of charge. When we did pay to use it the spa pool wasn't very warm and some of the jets weren't working. Not worth the £10 paid. Also to hire a robe they wanted £7.50! Breakfast also chargeable again for a 4* hotel didn't expect that. So a reasonable priced weekend away turned into an expensive one!

We had an excellent stay, hotel and grounds beautiful, clean and well maintained. Our room had everything we needed. Staff very pleasant and helpful and all looked very smart in their uniforms, which is nice to see. Our only downside was lack of transport, taxis are very hard to get, and public transport very scarce. We would definitely recommend and will be paying a return visit

Loved the hotel and the staff were fantastic. Also very nice touch with the freezer at reception allowing the guests to grab complimentary ice lollies and ice whenever they needed it in this current heat wave. The only slight niggle I had was the extra £10 charge to use the swimming pool which could do with a bit of a spruce up. The hotel is wonderful though and will definitely stay again but probably wouldn’t bother with the Spa. The town is also beautiful so the hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy all the local amenities.
