Poor Man's Paradise Lodge

We were prepared for no hot water, no AC, no cell service, but we were not prepared for the overall shady communication, vibes and charges. We booked this hotel to be close to Corcovado, and booked a tour with the hotel. When we asked for details, they said they said that the communication from Expedia was poor, and they only booked our snorkeling tour. We asked to cancel the snorkeling because the national park was our priority. She said they couldn't because they already bought the tickets. Turns out, it was their family member that lived on property that ran the tour. This made her so upset that she went out of her way to make us uncomfortable the entire stay. Very immature. She was the daughter of the owner. They also tried to charge us for the stay, even though we paid Expedia 3 weeks before. I had to pull up my receipt and credit card transaction to prove we already paid. She still wanted us to pay, but eventually said "Expedia always holds back the payment for a month". So they were just hoping we forgot? Also, two men walked onto our private porch and stole my husband's sunglasses. He was afraid to say something to them, but we saw them later and they looked affiliated with the hotel. They saw the boat off when we left. Would not recommend. Breakfast was also poor, but the other meals were pretty good. Restaurant staff were super nice.
