Moxy Downtown Los Angeles

As with all Moxy hotels the rooms are super minimalist. House keeping was consistent. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is because the amenities are the real reason you choose the Moxy but the onsite options are closed M-W. No bars no restaurants. Then if you DoorDash you have to get get your food from the lobby as they don’t allow delivery to the door. I’d stay again if it were for a weekend trip where everything is open.

The room and property overall were extremely clean, and the service from the front desk to the room attendants was fantastic. The Level 8 restaurants and club on the property were unlike anything I have experienced in a hotel anywhere, with the exception of possibly the large Las Vegas strip resorts. The atmosphere and decor were exceptional and are a destination unto themselves.

none of the bars for a drink were open the entire time we were there it said they opened at 3 PM and or 5 PM. None of them were ever open at any point during our stay for one full day we weren’t even able to get ice waters.

Super convenient to Convention Center. Very small rooms and no closets. Refrigerator and tea kettle only on request if available. Morning coffee ran out and took a while to refill. No all day hot beverage station. Fitness center very hot in afternoon in aerobic section.

Fun hip boutique hotel in downtown Los Angeles, right across the street from the LA Convention Center and LA Live. Also shares the same building with the AC Hotel and Level 8 nightlife and restaurant complex. Courteous and friendly staff and stylish rooms and decor. Another plus is guests of the hotel get instant access to the Level 8 restaurant area and $18 free food/beverage credit daily at any of the hotel restaurants and bars.

Elevator issues

Hotels main priority is their club they have on the 8th floor. The pool is only open to guest until 4 and you will literally be kicked out at 4 so that the hotel can setup for the club which is on the same floor as the pool. The spa chairs in the pool are only set out on the weekend. The bar in the lobby doesn’t open till 2. So no mimosas in the morning. They also tell you to sit at the bar while you wait for checkout on the website. But that’s a little hard when your flight lands at 10 and the bar doesn’t open until 2, and checkin until 4. The rooftop bar that they advertise isn’t open to guest. It was open 1 day out of our stay. There’s no convenience for the guest whatsoever.. no refrigerator. No microwave access. And to top it off coffee is only available to you to buy, or until there is none when they set a pot out in the lobby. All in all, we will never stay at the Moxy again. It’s pretty. That’s about all they have going.

This is a great hotel and would be a 5 if not for the really odd set up of no room fridge and almost absent ice/water. Both are only found on 3 floors and this is shared with an oddly attached 2nd hotel. The only way to buy a bottle of water is to go to the lobby in the 2nd hotel... The view was amazing, staff - world class. Food options are plentiful. We walked right across the street to the convention center, LA live and Crypto.com. The rest of the surrounding area is LA at its worst and should be avoided. We will stay here again but only for concert or convention.

The elevators are super weird, it feels like you are going through some sort of a maze. First off the rooms are small, unless maybe they have suites- but I can’t afford that so my friend and I got a regular room. Thankfully the gentleman at the front was able to get us a corner room for the same price, and “validated” the valet parking, which by the way is $63, but you can come and go as you please and not have to worry about being charged again. However, that’s if you’d like to wait 20-30 minutes while valet runs to get your vehicle. I don’t mind waiting but not for each time I have to exit and enter the premises. The pool! Be careful, the pool times are tricky and close at 4 pm daily- that’s check in time! So you’ll have to wait for the next morning at 8 am to go to the pool. To get to the pool you ask? Take elevator to level 8 then try to get to the pool that way, my friend and I had to get to level 9 and then take the stairs down a flight. For some reason the elevator wouldn’t go down to the “pool” level. And if you’re trying to get to the pool after 4 pm, the elevator won’t let you. It basically felt like a Willy Wonka house or some weird black mirror show. Overall, when we got to the pool in the morning it was nice, we actually had the pool to ourselves for a while. The bar downstairs has food, it’s 4/10. Sorry… I just have to say there was some good, mostly not our style. The bed were the best part!! Hope it’s a better stay for everyone else!!

The first time I stayed at Moxy DTLA in 2023 I had an amazing time and they made a great first impression. I felt like property was beautiful and there were so many dining options/amenities. Perhaps the property is being managed differently now because I noticed alot of wear and tear in the room along with cleanliness issues such as someone's hair in my shower and dust on most all the surfaces. There was also some miscommunication with room service. I was advised at check in that I could use my food and beverage credit on room service and then I was told this property doesn't offer room service. I wasnt able to take advantage of the credits. Ultimately, it wasn't the worst stay I've experienced but the bad outweighed the good for me this time. I would likely not return as there are so many other options to choose from in the same area.

Our sheets were noticeably dirty, both on the exterior and the interior of the comforter. They were stained and damp. I provided photos to the staff, who were apologetic about the situation. The room was quite cramped, with no floor space to lay down a suitcase. Additionally, we observed a number of homeless people outside the building causing problems—stealing hot dogs from a vendor and exhibiting behavior that resembled prostitution, along with drug-affected individuals shouting at passing cars. This all occurred while we waited for our Lyft driver, which made my kids feel scared.

Clean room, hot shower water, convenient location.

When checking in, I was given a room that was completely trashed. It was a bit of an annoyance from a long traveling day to taking my bags all the way up to my room to find that the room that had trash and messed up beds. Wasn’t a good first impression at all. Had to take all my stuff downstairs and go back to the front desk. Once advised of the issues, staff members switched my rooms without hesitation.

Very disappointed to find that not a single restaurant in Moxy was open. The sheets were stained in two different rooms. Thank you OK thank you thank you. Good night. Have a good night. Thank you.

Everyone was so lovely, the location was perfect and central for all activities plus the option of valet parking made it such a breeze! The cafe had delicious coffee and smoothies, the gym was clean and had a great range of equipment. The rooms were lovely and clean, the beds were super comfy and the cupboards for supplies came in handy!

When we arrived at our room the toilet seat was up and there was pee around the lip of the toilet. Somebody had clearly been in that room and here's the toilet after the cleaning ladies are done their job. Although the room is small we had no problem with it what we found was there was a lack of space to put things down on a shelf and not enough hooks to hang things up.

Rooms were small but super clean. They are big enough for 2 people so was more than suitable for my husband and I. The view was beautiful. The amenities were awesome. The location is perfect to everything! Book this hotel if you’re looking for nightlife and great dining options.

Overall stay was good. Comfortable bed, clean facilities, but not family friendly. It’s like a hangout for young adults at a night club. Loud music. Difficult getting to restaurant 34th floor. Small room, no doors on bathroom for privacy, weird set up in corner rooms. Television set-up blocking window view; weird. No closet. Unfriendly staff upon checking in. Too loud with music to hear clearly. Poor valet pulling in set-up. . Convenient location.

Didn’t except all these fees. The $300 deposit is steep. And fees for wildlife fire FEE and 58 and $116 parking is steep! And destination fee? When booked with Hotel com said FEES Included!. for parking and 5.58 tax on parking . Cost us all are 300 deposit plus still owed 50 more. View was beautiful but room and bathroom very very SMALL

Stayed two nights for a concert - definitely passed the vibe check! Sinners Y Santos on Level 8 is a win for the aesthetic. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and cozy. It has a very industrial aesthetic with the tiled walls and ceramic sink. The views are incredible from all sides of the building but the corner suites are definitely an A+. Stash closets on each floor are handy for quick access to sundries and the 24 hour shop is convenient when you get in after a late night. For the price this was definitely a great choice, I will definitely look for it again if I find myself down that way.

Location was ideal for concert and convention at Crypto arena. Rooms very small and sink area was way too small . Also no fridge and ice machines did not work . I would not return . Staff was okay

We had a fantastic stay at the Moxy Hotel! From check-in to check-out, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive, which really made us feel at home. The lobby atmosphere was lively and modern—perfect for relaxing or grabbing a quick drink. Our room was clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed with all the essentials. The location was very convenient, and we loved how easy it was to access nearby dining and entertainment. Everything about the experience felt fresh, fun, and comfortable. We will definitely stay at the Moxy Hotel again in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vibrant and enjoyable hotel experience!

Antonio who checked us in was wonderful and very helpful and accommodating to our needs. He helped us tremendously in moving to a bigger room and was very attentive to our needs. Give this man raise!

I arrived at the hotel for them to tell me my reservation had been canceled and for them to "try and check for another room" for me, which they did, but the reservation was not cancelled by the 3rd party which led me to be charged 2x and Moxys' hotel pricing is far more expensive. For one night which was approximately 8 hours; they charged me including fees and valet parking. There's a reason why I book through 3rd party, for the deal! I called Moxy and there was nothing they could do for me, so I had to end up calling the 3rd party and I'm just waiting on a refund. Other than that; the room was decent and clean. The hotel is in a nice location and offers a lot of restaurants and activities for your stay. I would love to try them again for my birthday in a couple months; I just hope there are no issues. It is really inconvenient to deal with.

I liked how staff was friendly and always available to help no matter what time of the day.

Checked in Friday night, took about an hour to get turned into where you can park valet — mind you it’s hard to even see where that is from the street as it looks like your turning into a random “priced parking area” Not to mention I tried calling numerous times throughout the day to let them know I’d be arriving later than check in time and to just see how parking was and no one answered up until about the tenth time when I was over waiting in the line to turn into valet! The lady was also not friendly at all.. Walked in, smelled like smoke — only ONE elevator was working (charged a resort fee) Paid for a corner room, NONE of the pictures show this film that was on the bottom blocking half the window! So pointless to get a corner room, mind you you’ll hear the ELEVATOR when it is going up - so loud, assuming that’s what the noise is I recorded. The shower wasn’t awful, but the set up is because the water leaks all into where the toilet is.. the room has a cute industrial vibe is only the window views were as shown.. false advertisement for sure! Keep in mind resort fees and valet parking cost more than listed here .. should not be charged resort fees when they have 1 elevator working, fully booked and the room definitely does not give resort vibes either.

Bed was super comfortable, and the shower was awesome 👏 The staf, Antonio and Dante were super friendly and very professional I do wish the properties in the surrounding areas would power wash the sidewalks, they were very dirty

I’m not usually one to complain… I never do a review, but wanted others to be aware. Watch your booking closely. I paid for a corner room which was about $100 more per night. The hotel checked me in before I got to the hotel and assigned me a different room. When I got to the room and realized I didn’t have the view that I was expecting, I went back down to the front desk. I was originally told since they pre-checked me and they couldn’t do anything about it. When I asked them to adjust the room, rate they all of a sudden were able to get me in a corner room, like I had paid for. I prepaid valet on my reservation. The hotel also charged me. It took 45 minutes chatting back back-and-forth with hotels.com to get this corrected. I got breakfast in their coffee shop, in the lobby. It cost $34 for two breakfast sandwiches and a coffee. The surprise was the additional $6 they charged to my room because when I paid at the coffee shop, they asked me if I wanted them to bill it to my room. Never did I expect an addition charge because they billed my room. As a whole, it probably isn’t a property for me. For over $900 for two nights, I wouldn’t expect to have to watch my credit card for unexpected charges.

Room was in perfect condition, check in was easy and front desk staff was very friendly. Will stay here every time I’m in LA.

The staff at Moxy Downtown were incredibly kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The location was convenient as it was less than a block away from the Crypto.com Arena and close to many delicious restaurants and fun activities. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back!

Loved being near the metro. Easy access to Memorial Stadium and Santa Monica. Very modern upscale options on site with lots of other choices near Cryto.com Arena

Once you get inside, it’s fine, but property is surrounded by the garbage in LA and it’s rioters and homeless.

The music everywhere at hotel felt like you are at a nightclub. Fine at night but no other time. Surrounding area did not feel safe.

The area around the convention center and crypto arena looks safe. In the center of the city, but need more than 10min walk to decent restaurants and shopping places. The rooms are small but designed properly to make use of the limited spaces. Rooms around the 8th floor entertainment area can be a bit noisy at night. Staff are helpful.

Clean and great downtown location

We were there for volleyball tournament, it is right across from the convention center, so convenient!

The hotel is super convenient if you’re participating in something at the convention center or going to crypto Arena. There’s a lot of food options in the local area and a coffee shop on the first floor.

Very limited dining. The lobby cafe had no chef for some days and only beverages available. The other place didn’t open until 12pm. Overall very limited options to eat, very confused about what restaurants were open at what time and on specific days. When I did venture to one of the restaurants off to the side, door hostess and security man were very unpleasant. They didn’t speak much to me or the other two women I was with and I very much did not appreciate how we were being looked at. We were there during mid day maybe 2pm and were told we were able to be there as we were hotel guests. Overall bleak experience.

My experience at this hotel wasn't the best. There is no hospitality at all. No room service. It's like you manage yourself throughout your stay. The only good things about this hotel were the view, the bed and the one staff Whitney at the front desk, the rooms are very small. All the dining activity is connected outside of the hotel. Nothing in the hotel was open, not even the bar. Everything looks shiny and pretty but noting is available. There is no communication with staff. I was getting dressed to check out and a hospitality staff walked in on me unexpectedly. The pool opened and closed to early 10:00 am -4:00 pm and it is hot as heck out here. When you call the operator its AI so you can't speak to an actual person. Jazmine the Manager is overwhelmed, there is not enough staff to accommodate guest and their needs. In my opinion they care more about recouping their money that was invested by charging fees that they can't focus on anything else. But what are you paying for if nothing is open? I'm confused about the whole experience. I did get some sleep that was about the best thing I could say.

I'm not sure if it's due to Labor Day weekend, but the place was really crowded, with loud music playing until the early hours of the morning. Considering the prices, it wasn't worth it. The food at Lucky Mizu and Que Barbaro was also very overpriced.

Not a lot of options for breakfast. Restaurant times did not accommodate my stay.

My son and I stayed here for his 21st so we could go and watch a Lakers game. Its close location to Crypto Arena was fantastic. The breakfast and coffee was also great. Thanks Moxy and the staff at the cafe you made my morning each day. Thanks John

Hotel was very nice, comfortable and clean. Lobby is a great place to hang out. And the hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Staples and restaurants. One complaint is who knows what the hours of the bar in the lobby are. We arrived at 1130 and bar wasn’t open. When we got back after dinner at 930 bar still wasn’t open. Also wasn’t open the following morning. Makes no sense.
