Sigiriya Village

The hotel needs an upgrade very badly. The staff and food was excellent. It”s such a beautiful location and an extremely perfect asset for a big improvement in infrastructure. Please make sure the hotel is upgraded/refurbished.

Schönes Hotel, etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber liebevoll gepflegt. Toller Pool nach einem heißen Tag auf Sigiriya Lion Rock und Kaudulla Nationalpark.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Massive grounds overlooking the rock. Good cocktails. Good breakfast. Sadly didn't use the pool area due to the weather. 2 mins walk from plenty of restaurants/bars.

No maintenence. Threadbare towels roads to villa toond full of pothokes and slippery due to moss and uneven surface

This is a beautiful property with spacious rooms that make you feel like you are living in a lush green space. Clean rooms, nice space to work, comfortable bed. The only small complaint I have is the internet was a little slow, video calls for work were blurry, but it worked! Breakfast buffet was really good with lots of options. Bar was pretty pricy but it was nice. The pool was also a welcome amenity after hiking. Would definitely recommend.

With well maintained and mature grounds an open and airy reception/bar/restaurant area going onto a pool which is clean and offers midday shade Siguria village is a lovely environment to relax for a few days. We watched troupes of Langur and macaque browsing the trees, listened to all sorts of bird calls and enjoyed to dry off after the pool with our local turtle neighbor. The staff are well trained and attentive without being overbearing, special mention to Anjula the barman who mixes great cocktails. The breakfasts are delicious, some of the best Dahl we have had in Sri Lanka and on leaving we were wished a long and happy life by a man with a long grey beard and golden tiara. All in all a great stay.

We don’t understand why there are some medium reviews about this place; it is such a beautiful eco resort, lovely surroundings, great staff, you have a view of Sigiriya Rock from the pool, there are friendly monkeys and other sorts of beautiful animals around. The staff is very polite and helpful, they arranged us a transfer for the early morning climb. The included breakfast was very extensive and delicious, the dinner is not best but not bad either. The atmosphere is lovely, so it’s worth eating there. But the village is so close, you can just walk there and eat in one of the restaurants as well, so it’s not a big issue. We definitely recommend a stay here if you’re visiting the rock!!!

It was great stay my first day in Sri Lanka.Cottage type room are very quite and calm. Around my room are many peacock and other birds. When we reach at hotel’s pool side, we can see great Sea Sigiriya Rock.Very comfortable hotel!

We stayed in that hotel for 3 nights in March 2025. The property is very nice in general. It's all surrounded by a beautiful garden which they keep very clean all the time. Exceptional stuff, very kind, professional and helpful. The lobby is like a patio with a roof so you can enjoy fresh air all the time and the amazing view of Sigiriya Lion's Rock. Delicious breakfast with tons of options. Very good location, just a few steps from the center of the town. The only down was the air in the room which was moldy and I smelled it every time I got into the room. It was spacious, clean, good mattresses but the smell killed the experience a bit.

In general a great stay, very friendly staff and good dinner buffet option. However, though the room was very clean and spacious it was very dark (I struggled to read) and as my room was anointed to another the wall was very thin and I could hear everything including snoring for 8 hours!

Review for Sigiriya Village Hotel – Sigiriya, Sri Lanka I recently stayed at Sigiriya Village Hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant and memorable experience. The room was comfortable, and the stay itself was enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight — fresh, tasty, and with a good variety of options. The Sri Lankan rice and curries I ordered during my stay were also delicious and full of flavour. That said, there were a couple of maintenance issues in the room, which I have already shared directly with Krishanth and the front desk. Above the ceiling fan, the paint on the ceiling had peeled off and had fallen directly onto the bed — not ideal, and potentially unpleasant if a child or family member had been sleeping there. The bathroom tap was quite loose, and there was a strong smell coming from the toilet/basin area that could use attention. My main disappointment was with one à la carte dinner. I waited almost an hour for my meal, and it took some time to find a staff member to check on the order. When the food arrived, there were two issues: • The nasi goreng did not resemble or taste like nasi goreng — it was pale, lacked the typical sauce, and was flavourless. • The Jaffna prawn curry appeared to have been made with cold-water prawns in a yellowish coconut butter, which was quite different from what I was expecting. I had anticipated at least tiger prawns (or an equivalent) in a darker, reddish, richly spiced sauce. At first, no one was available to address the complaint

Nusset hotel, rigtig dårlig lugt af indelukket/kælder lugt. Alt sengetøj lugtede også dårligt. Dårlig aftensmad og gammel kaffe serveret til morgenmaf.

Wir haben einen Nacht im Hotel verbracht. Die Beschreibung passt, es ist sauber und das Personal freundlich. Die Lage ist ruhig und Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar, Sehenswürdigkeiten etwas entfernt. Die Anlage ist älter aber gepflegt, Frühstück reichhaltig und Landes-typisch.

The location of the hotel is amazing, just a short walk into the town which was beautiful but sunset. The hotel itself is a little dated and our room smelt like damp and the air conditioning wasn’t always working. The breakfast was ok but could do with more variety.

We also walked to Lions Rock and on to Pidurangala Rock - it takes about a half hour to each, so plan for a minimum 1 hour walk each way. Overall, really liked it here. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to be close to the rock.

The staff were friendly and accommodating though the long shifts can leave some of the team needing a rest and possibly a shower and some clean clothes! The rooms are not new and the water pressure is not the best but overall the room served its function.

Sigiriya Village is a beautiful place with a splendid view. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. However, the hotel is very large with many guests, which could feel a bit overwhelming, and the breakfast was rather average

The room wasn’t ready no face towels, Air conditioning unit was noisy, the mattress wasn’t so good. It was clean but I have above concerns.

Unique setting excellent food and choices, like being in an island retreat in a forest and natural setting. Lovely staff always attending to the details - staff very well trained in excellent hospitality professional service - it showed at all times. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel, lovely room, excellent swimming pool, and some of the best Sri Lankan food I could expect in the buffet breakfast and dinner. Plus very friendly staff that even remembered me. That special touch.

シギリアロックを眺望出来るコテージタイプのホテル。部屋は広くて清潔でした。ドライヤーの電源タップがコンセントに入らない問題がありましたが、総じて問題ありませんでした。ただ、個人的な感想ですが、朝食があまり美味しくありませんでした。期待し過ぎたのかもしれませんが、本当に残念でした。
