Almost perfect but for a five star hotel a few minor let downs (really minor…). The funicular to the beach was out of order all week, and the beer tap at the pool bar wasn’t working (all week). Service in the main was excellent, but on leaving awaited 25 minutes for someone to come with a car to our villa to take our cases up to reception (very steep 10 minute walk uphill was the alternative). Car never arrived despite calling 3 times so had to walk….

Fantastic facilities to completely relax. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. The pool areas for the villas is lovely and quiet. The gym is really well appointed for even the most particular of fitness fanatics. The restaurants are also really good. The food is beautifully prepared and tasty. Great wine selection as well. It is a really quiet hotel. For this time of year it is not a hotel for nightlife or entertainment, it is for a rest. The bar by the ocean is lovely and a pleasure to have a cold beer or glass of fizz.

1 They say book restaurants in advance. There are many (excellent) specialist restaurants. So we did, for my wife and I, for 2 nights of the 5, planning to eat with the children the other 3 nights. 2 THERE IS NO FOOD except in the specialist restaurants. So we arrived to be told that our children could not eat, and the specialist restaurants were fully booked, so we could only eat for 2 of the 5 days. This is a 5* hotel, and they cannot feed us except on room service. This is insane. 3 The Kids Club is excellent. It is serviced by an elevator, in which my wife got stuck as the doors opened a little at every floor but not enough to get out. Nobody came when she used the alarm phone. Eventually she got out to be told at reception that THIS HAPPENS MOST DAYS. It's a lift used by all the Kids Club and they don't fix it. Insane. 3 The swimming pools. They state heated to 25C. Lies. Neither my wife or I or the people we were travelling with could set foot in it. 18C AT BEST. Unusable for great majority of guests. 4 The taxi and transfer desk outside. Mayhem. Guests constantly complaining. You do NOT expect any of this from a 5* Ritz-Carlton costing $1,700 all-in per night. Good things - Kid's Club, food (if you can get any), rooms.

A large resort with flawless service, a spacious spotlessly clean and well equipped room, and a very good kids club. 3 pools - one due refurbishment next year - aging a touch but still fine, one adult only. Really good spa, and small but well equipped gym. Fabulous bathroom with separate shower (one of the best I’ve used) and bath. About 6 restaurants plus poolside bar and lobby bar providing food: this was expensive everywhere but good quality. Worth four and a half stars - dropping a half as it’s expensive yet shows its age in a couple of areas. Worth hiring a car if you want to venture out of the resort.

Amazing stay - every staff member has been incredibly nice and helpful. No one could have done more for us! Amazing facilities - loved that there was sun cream at the pool, would have been great to have that at the beach. Definitely recommend staying here if you want a luxuriously relaxing holiday.

Service is on point, really amazing staff. Lorena at reception was very helpful. Rooms are nice and spacious. Pool staff were so nice, especially Ginscar. Breakfast could be better, the sausages were very oily and the hollandaise sauce on the eggs royal was not hollandaise, expect better from the Ritz. Housekeeping didn’t clean our room on the second day sadly, think there might have been a confusion when we asked them to come back later.

Il Ritz di Tenerife è un posto unico per la sua architettura, il design, per l’accoglienza e il tipo di servizi che offre. La camera era davvero bella, spaziosa e luminosa, con un bel terrazzo. Il bagno ha dei prodotti magnifici inclusi di diptyque, i migliori mai trovati in un hotel e ogni giorno la camera veniva rifatta e garantite ogni necessità (nuova acqua, altri cioccolatini, asciugamani..). Lo staff è sempre stato molto cortese,i receptionists, i concierge, lo staff delle pulizie. Akira è stato il miglior ristorante, per il quale consiglio vivamente la degustazione. El Mirador anche ottimo per il pesce e molto carino l’esterno. Purtoppo devo sconsigliare MB, il ristorante con ben due stelle michelin, ma che ci ha deluse profondamente. Lo ritengo l’unica macchia di questo bellissimo soggiorno, sia per il menu che non ci ha convinto su più portate, sia per alcune modalità di “extra” decisamente non chiari al momento dell’esperienza di degustazione. (Ci tengo a dire che allo staff è stato espresso il disappunto, ma non è stato fatto nulla per farci uscire un po’ meno scontente..). Il resort ha poi varie piscine e sono messi a disposizione asciugamani e creme solari. La piccola spiaggia è raggiungibile a piedi o con il trenino dell’hotel, ha un’ acqua trasparente bellissima, ma fredda! Un’esperienza da provare comunque. Peccato per delle fastidiose mosche che, a causa dei banani nelle vicinanze, a volte pizzicano e possono infastidire gli ospiti. Resort consigliatissimo!

Our room was gloomy and dark it wasn’t inviting at all for a Ritz Carlton. The most annoying part is that we were at the mercy of calling reception every time we wanted to go out due to the fact that you had to use a buggy to be transported to and from reception and the restaurants. To do this you call reception to ask them to collect you… each time we waited more than 20 mins for them just to answer the phone… then another 15-20 minutes for them to arrive? We missed two dinner reservations because we were late? The ritz Carlton in Dubai is outstanding but his one is playing at it. I had to complain bY day 4 - to which in their defense they gave us our own buggy free of charge. They initially wanted me to pay 25 euros a day to hire one but the day after gave us one for free hence why I’ve given a 3 star rating. The breakfast at the retreat - waiting 25 mins for a cup of tea - and the poached egg arrived each day before the tea came? The hotel is almost too big to care, yet other staff were brilliant- pool staff very good Diane in restaurant very good but the 3 students from Netherlands in the restaurant were the best - just 2 days in they knew what they were doing.

The resort itself is breathtaking. From palm-lined gardens to ocean views, every space feels calm and beautifully designed. Our accessible room was both elegant and practical, with seamless access throughout and a private balcony that offered the most stunning views of the sea. It was wonderful to enjoy room service and unwind in comfort without a single compromise on style. Dining was outstanding — especially the seafood restaurant, where we enjoyed tender baby squid, the best paella we’ve ever tasted, and local wine that complemented it perfectly. The lobby bar’s cocktails and an impromptu rum masterclass were unexpected highlights. The spa was a true sanctuary. The therapists were lovely, and the range of treatments and facilities — from saunas and sensory showers to yoga on the terrace — created the perfect setting for relaxation. Accessibility was considered throughout, and I found using the facilities simple and safe. The Ritz Carlton Abama is a shining example of how luxury and accessibility can exist side by side. The hotel seemed designed to maximise the views at all opportunities. Coming in early March, it was a pleasure to have cool breezes through the corridors and breezeways, and magnificent sea panoramas at each turn. Genuinely stunning. Our suite was well appointed, comfortable and proficiently looked after, daily, by the efficient and thoughtful housekeeping staff. A couple of downsides - while there is a pleasing number, and breadth, of dining options the quality of the food and the service didn’t always quite meet the price, nor the expected standard. Don’t miss sunset at El Mirador, or the tiramisu at Verona. You can skip over MB and Akira Back (although the view from Akira Back is pretty spectacular, too). The hotel seemed pretty child friendly, if that’s your thing, with lots of children of different ages seemingly very happily enjoying their stay. Be warned that if there is an event happening at the hotel, it can be disruptive. A wedding took place during the weekend of our stay, which meant noisy partying on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cool if that’s what you’re there for, but it did detract from our preferred peaceful vacation. Would definitely consider going back, negative points notwithstanding.

This is not a five star hotel and it shouldn’t market itself as such. Some of the facilities and the common areas in particular are very tired and dated (e.g. the lifts and the carpets). Access to the gym is via a car park. Many internal signs in the hotel (for example to the gym and the spa) don’t lead to where they say. Items such as the haridryer in the room and the loungers on the beach are of very low quality - certainly not the level of a five star hotel. There is no sound proofing in the rooms meaning you can hear the music in the bar area at night and everything that goes on in the hallway outside your room in the morning.

Wir waren zum dritten Mal innert 10 Jahren im Ritz-Carlton Abama und haben unsere Ferien sehr genossen. Unser Zimmer war im 7. Stockwerk mit wunderbarer Meersicht, allerdings auch mit ziemlich viel Kindergeschrei vom darunter liegenden Pool. Anregung: Wir haben auf unserem Balkon einen Sonnenschutz oder Schirm sehr vermisst. Generell: Die Preise für Essen und Getränke sind an der oberen Grenze angelangt.

I had a wonderful stay at The Ritz-Carlton. The food was excellent, the views were beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, the experience was truly enjoyable. The only issue I experienced was at the El Mirador restaurant when ordering a café latte. Although it is clearly listed on the menu alongside café macchiato, I was first given a latte macchiato, then an espresso macchiato, before finally receiving the correct drink after showing a picture. This was surprising, especially since I had no problem ordering the same drink earlier during my stay. For a property of this standard, I would have expected more consistency in service. That said, everything else was excellent, and with a bit of clarification or staff training on menu items, this would have been a perfect stay.

Overall our stay was excellent and all the staff we interacted with in person were fabulous. There were two unfortunate points however. The first is that we did find service was generally quite slow across the board, with the exception of the M.B. restaurant The second, and more egregious, is although we had emailed to pre-book a transfer from the airport to the hotel, and recieved a reply by email stating they were 'happy to help'. Apparently they were unable to book the transfer, but sent no follow up to let us know. Thus, when we arrived at the airport there was no transfer waiting. When I called the front desk to enquire, I was blamed for not having made sure I'd received a confirmation email. Despite there being no mention of this in any of my emails with concierge when booking.

It would be fair to say that our visit was not quite what we were expecting and, in various areas, we felt that the standards of service fell considerably short of a resort of this quality. The specific concerns we raised in a letter to the Resort Manager (to which we didn't receive a response) included; (i) the degree of self-service attaching to both the pool areas and the lobby bar; (ii) poor interactions with guest service departments and (iii) disturbance to guests over 3 days of a large wedding party. It is often the small things that a hotel does well that really stays with the guest upon their departure. The opposite is also true; in that if a property falls short on the small things, it tends to leave a lasting poor impression.

This property is probably the best we have ever stayed at. The quality of service is totally exceptional - the ethos of going the extra mile epitomises the brand of Ritz Carlton. They could never do too much from the bed turning down vservice to giving so much more. As it was our anniversary they made our room up with rose petals, a cake, bubbly and so much more. We had a truly exceptional stay. As it was also my birthday they made a wonderful gesture providing cake, wine and so much more. We are definitely returning to our now favorite location.

This is the gold standard of luxury stays. Quite literally blew my mind almost everyday how thoughtful, gracious, and attentive the staff was. The property is outstanding, the private beach is first class, and the only down side to the whole deal was leaving. Darn. Leaving the Ritz, Abama was dastardly.

Words can’t explain how good this hotel and the staff are. Staff can’t do enough to help and make your stay more comfortable. Amazing experience and I’ll definitely be staying again sooner rather than later. Pricey but more than worth it in the long run for an absolutely fantastic first class holiday. It’s far out from the hustle and bustle of las Americas but if your willing to pay taxis into town (20 mins, €28 one way) it’s the best place to stay for comfort and quiet and the entertainment they put on is second to none.

Beautiful resort and grounds. The service was phenomenal. Our luggage was delayed for two days getting to Tenerife from Amsterdam airport and when we checked in the staff gave us a care bag with t-shirts, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. to get us through. Our family had a great time here. If coming here I recommend renting a car for a few days for excursions as taxi fare quickly becomes very expensive (often more than the excursion cost!) as the hotel is on the south end of the island but many excursions are out of the north.

This is a luxury hotel away from the madness of South Tenerife. It is isolated so a hire car is useful but at least 7 restaurants including a 2 star and a 1 star Michelin restaurant on site mean that if you choose, you can have dinner in a separate establishment each day of the week. The staff were universally very helpful and exceptionally friendly. My only criticism was the internet was sporadic and difficult to connect to in many locations. Would we go back...absolutely!!

Didnt seem to be much outside of the complex within a walkable distance. The beach was lovely and clean , however this is down a steep hill, but has a train service back to the main complex

Overall a good experience, restaurant options were very limited though as most were closed, most staff were exceptional but a few were particularly rude mainly in Txoco restaurant. Upgrade to the retreat if you can, facilities are very good

If you are a golfer, this is for you. They were extremely accommodating regarding the EUROs matches. The lack of flexibility at the Sushi restaurant was disappointing as most of the options had dairy. The seafood restaurant was accommodating and the views were stunning. There are no options for dining around the Ritz so be prepared to pay $50 Euros for taxis one way to get to food/entertainment. We got sick the last day due to weather, no drug store options on site or near.

1 They say book restaurants in advance. There are many (excellent) specialist restaurants. So we did, for my wife and I, for 2 nights of the 5, planning to eat with the children the other 3 nights. 2 THERE IS NO FOOD except in the specialist restaurants. So we arrived to be told that our children could not eat, and the specialist restaurants were fully booked, so we could only eat for 2 of the 5 days. This is a 5* hotel, and they cannot feed us except on room service. This is insane. 3 The Kids Club is excellent. It is serviced by an elevator, in which my wife got stuck as the doors opened a little at every floor but not enough to get out. Nobody came when she used the alarm phone. Eventually she got out to be told at reception that THIS HAPPENS MOST DAYS. It's a lift used by all the Kids Club and they don't fix it. Insane. 3 The swimming pools. They state heated to 25C. Lies. Neither my wife or I or the people we were travelling with could set foot in it. 18C AT BEST. Unusable for great majority of guests. 4 The taxi and transfer desk outside. Mayhem. Guests constantly complaining. You do NOT expect any of this from a 5* Ritz-Carlton costing $1,700 all-in per night. Good things - Kid's Club, food (if you can get any), rooms.

This hotel was amazing- would definitely go back! From the moment we arrived the staff were smiling and helpful, organised, accommodating and working to make our holiday great. There was such a variety of food in all the restaurants and there was also a choice of really fine dining vs more relaxed well run restaurants. The breakfasts were outstanding with anything you could think of on the menu and more! The pools were beautifully kept and the weather made them even more enjoyable. The beach was a sweet trip down the hill in a train and there was a cove with beautiful cool water and warm sand with staff on hand to pamper you or let you order your own lunch , drinks etc. Amazing hotel all round!

A large resort with flawless service, a spacious spotlessly clean and well equipped room, and a very good kids club. 3 pools - one due refurbishment next year - aging a touch but still fine, one adult only. Really good spa, and small but well equipped gym. Fabulous bathroom with separate shower (one of the best I’ve used) and bath. About 6 restaurants plus poolside bar and lobby bar providing food: this was expensive everywhere but good quality. Worth four and a half stars - dropping a half as it’s expensive yet shows its age in a couple of areas. Worth hiring a car if you want to venture out of the resort.

The hotel seemed designed to maximise the views at all opportunities. Coming in early March, it was a pleasure to have cool breezes through the corridors and breezeways, and magnificent sea panoramas at each turn. Genuinely stunning. Our suite was well appointed, comfortable and proficiently looked after, daily, by the efficient and thoughtful housekeeping staff. A couple of downsides - while there is a pleasing number, and breadth, of dining options the quality of the food and the service didn’t always quite meet the price, nor the expected standard. Don’t miss sunset at El Mirador, or the tiramisu at Verona. You can skip over MB and Akira Back (although the view from Akira Back is pretty spectacular, too). The hotel seemed pretty child friendly, if that’s your thing, with lots of children of different ages seemingly very happily enjoying their stay. Be warned that if there is an event happening at the hotel, it can be disruptive. A wedding took place during the weekend of our stay, which meant noisy partying on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cool if that’s what you’re there for, but it did detract from our preferred peaceful vacation. Would definitely consider going back, negative points notwithstanding.

Vi hadde en meget fin og avkoplende uke på hotellet, men totalopplevelsen svarte ikke helt til et 5-stjernes Ritz Carlton hotell. Hotellet er flott med fine, store rom og bad. Vi hadde balkong med havutsikt og det var det verd. Bufféfrokosten er meget god og mye å velge. Reiser man uten barn bør man be om å få sitte i «The quite zone» (en separat avdeling med utsikt over parkanlegget og havet). Vi prøvde alle restaurantene utom Michelin-restauranten, «M.B.». Alle var meget bra med riktig god mat til rimelige priser. Spesielt likte vi «Verde Mar» med spesialiteter fra Kanariøyene. Imidlertid var det litt komplisert å reservere bord og alle restaurantene har ikke åpent alle dager. Det beste er å booke selv på hotellets app. Merkelig nok kunne man ikke booke i resepsjonen og «consiergen» var lite til stede. «Mirador» ligger nedenfor hotellet, og er en bra restaurant til å spise på første kvelden (men reserver i forvei og bord utendørs!). Der er det også hyggelig å spise lunsj. Poolområdene er fine og behagelige med solstoler med madrasser, håndklær og god service. Ved Lagoon pool ligger det også en hyggelig lunsjrestaurant. Imidlertid har ikke Ritz Carltons hotellgjester lenger tilgang til Mirador-poolen, en skuffelse for oss. Stranden er liten og fin, men er delvis offentlig. Vi synes imidlertid ikke at kvaliteten (f.eks. ikke noen madrasser til solstolene og litt for tett mellom stolene) eller servicen levde opp til Ritz Carlton nivå.
