I was really excited about staying here after the first leg of the Nakesendo Trail. The photos were much better than the actual property. The property was very dated and worn. The whole hotel could use a good cleaning. The room was from the 70s, but the shower was excellent! We arrived early, were able to store our luggage, and explore. There isn't really anything around the hotel, so we walked to the town. It was a trek there and back! I thought there would be dinner at the hotel, but you had to book in advance- news to me. Luckily, there was a small food area in the lobby. Cup of Noodle it was! By the morning, we just wanted to leave, so we skipped breakfast and took the shuttle to the station. Everyone was very nice, but I would not recommend this hotel.

Our experience with this hotel was overall good! Staff was kind and friendly, facilities were a little dated and the lighting inside the room needs updating, pure white light is not the most pleasant, however the traditional Japanese bedroom experience was very cool! Breakfast was also awesome! That alone made this experience super cool!

Advertised laundry does not exist. Carpets need replacing. Great desk staff helped us get a fried egg in lieu of more raw fish for breakfast. Restaurant ratings would go way up if real coffee was available.

the included Dinner and breakfast were excellent with so many courses and nicely prepared. Very impressive presentation. The onsen, sauna and cold bath was very relaxing. The tatami room was very spacious. In general, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. A bit far, so shuttle was necessary for us without a car. Nothing nearby in walking distance.
