Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Abilene Mall South by IHG

Very clean. Spacious room with large, fully stocked bathroom. Larger TV than most other hotels. Wonderful hot breakfast. Beautiful pool area. Only minor flaw was hot tub had no bubbles! Great hotel.

The pool was down and was not told before hand. It was Memorial Day weekend. The hallway was noisy loud talking, slamming doors. Parking lot had several screws . Good was the staffs friendliness. The overall room was clean and cool with the hot weather. Good water pressure!!

Everything was good except the pool. It was slimy and had algae all on the bottom.

Hot tub needs some attention. Motor gets to hot and quits. They tried turning down the temp, but water is to hot.

This was a decent hotel for the price. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean room. I just wish they took more time to clean the pool and hot tub, they were pretty gross.

We had a really bad experience at this hotel when we first got there they gave us the wrong room and didn’t have enough beds in it and so they tried to switch us to a different room, but that didn’t work. They couldn’t figure out how to do it so we ended up just staying in the room they gave us the first night and all squishing into a king size bed. When we tried to head up to the room, the elevator wasn’t working so they had to reset the elevator andwhen we got up to the room, our keys didn’t work so we had to go back downstairs and have them come upstairs and fix our room keys and then the next day they were supposed to switch us to the presidential suite to make up for the night before problems And when they went to go switch us, they said oh that room is not available. We didn’t check availability when we told you we were gonna give it to you so we didn’t get the presidential suite so then they were gonna put us in a regular suite but the room wasn’t ready yet so we said can we leave our stuff in our current room until that room is ready and they said yes and then they called us right back and said oh no you can’t we need that room so you can leave the stuff in the office so we finally just decided to switch to another hotel because we had had enough. So we ended up switching to the La Quinta and everything went smooth from there on.

The staff was very friendly and helpful!! The only issue was the elevator was broken, but the staff offered to help me with my luggage. I would stay there again.

I was very disappointed that the hot tub was not up and running. This is the reason I chose this hotel because I thought after driving all day it would be nice to soak achey bones and muscles. The really nice part was the beds. They were perfect.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Before and during check in, I specifically had asked if the pool was open. I was told that it was. The pool was open, but it was filthy. I do understand that a lot of dust and dirt had been present before our arrival, but it was very bad. I even tried to clean it, but to no avail. Nobody even apologized. There was a maintenance person at the hotel pool in day 2, but did not stay. Everything from the pool standpoint was a mess and mismanaged. The pool pump house was in complete disarray. I know this because the door to it was left wide open, creating more of a danger. It was really i excusable. And I don’t ever complain. Plus the bird crap everywhere is a huge health hazard.. it did not appear that anyone had attempted to clean it iff the pool deck. My wife and I were in town for only a couple of days, but I did expect better than what we found, Especially from a World leader in the hotel industry. Thanks for listening..

Limited parking and inconvenient location to get to. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast selection was good.

Customer service was amazing. They're was urine on the toilet lid and the base of the toilet. I have photos but not sure how to upload them on this site.

Room had feces left in and on toilet when we arrived/maintenance never showed/ staff rude when asked to fix problems/ balcony door in “ corrected” room didn’t open. Phones in both rooms didn’t work. Doors slam when guests leave rooms. SLAM. Asked for discount due to issue NOPE

I have stayed here several times before and this time was not so great! The room was not very clean house keeping can do a better job, there was hair in the tub and on the sink. The towels were dirty it just wasn't very clean this time.

We arrived after driving 750 miles, tired and hungry. The room we were assigned had trash in it. An empty tea bottle, wrappers, and a used roll of toilet paper on the desk area. I went to the front desk to explain the condition of the room and requested a different room. It took a while because in the few minutes that we were in our room, other customers had arrived and the front desk clerk had a line of people. She eventually issued me another room and... there was a TV on the bed! Yes, a TV on the BED! There was also trash. I went back to the front desk and asked for a room on a different floor, hoping that strategy might work. We walked into our third room in 15 minutes and it was clean although the TV was on. We walked over to the steakhouse next door for dinner and when we got back we tried repeatedly to turn the TV off. The remote only worked for volume but the on/off button did not work! This place cost more than the other hotels nearby and we are certainly disappointed. It is NOT worth the money. Stay as far away as possible from it.

Water on bathroom floor. Hair and crumbs on phone and nightstand.

Shower had a lot of hair left from a previous shave, water in bathroom sink didn’t drain, outlet in bathroom didn’t work, carpet was soaked from the air conditioner, lock on the door didn’t work, beds were dirty when you pulled back the blankets, washer and dryer didn’t work and nobody said anything at check in, we were in town for a basketball tournament and really needed to wash, never had such a terrible room at a Holiday Inn.

Great clean and comfortable hotel. Front desk gentleman was great and helpful. Breakfast area was clean and the food was hot and good.

Bed sheets and covers had stains and hair on it.

Check in was quick and easy. Front desk clerks were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Will stay again. Thanks.

When i arrived a few minutes after the 3pm check in and they sent me to the room, the room had not been cleaned.

Our room seem to have a smell to it when we first got there, turned on the AC, went to dinner and it was gone when we returned. There wasn’t an extra blanket in the room. She is cold, I am hot…go figure, and extra blanket would have been nice.

AC was not working correctly and was so loud, sheets and pillows cases were damp and we didn’t even check in til 12 midnight. Wouldn’t recommend

*The beds are old and squeeky. *The bathroom floor was dirty (black stains) when we arrived . *Housekeeping did not show up the following day. I called the front desk at 3 pm to request for housekeeping/towels and was told someone was on the way. Nobody showed up so i went to the front desk at 7 pm and the lady told they did not provide daily housekeeping unless I had requested for that at check in.

Room doors slam very hard and loud. Those are easily adjusted.

I loved the room, but the air conditioner was very loud when turning on throughout the night. The bed sheets were so soft, and the bed was comfy.

Real basic hotel. Bed was comfy but squeaky, carpet felt moist… but over all clean

Great water pressure! I have super long thick hair and it was thoroughly wet in less than 2 minutes! Comfy bed and room darkening blinds that actually worked.

We stayed in a King Suite room and couldn't believe how large it was! The cleanliness and comfort were also impressive. Breakfast was good and the staff was so friendly and helpful!

Jennifer at the front desk was amazing. From the moment we check in she was just the sweetest. She took care of me and my family all night. I had a bad experience at a previous hotel and had to find a new one which was the holiday inn last minute and I’m glad I did. She upgraded me help me with washing my kids uniforms for their game gave us everything we needed to help ease the anxiety I had when I first came in. The best experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. She is amazing and kept a smile and me laughing. Five stars just from her alone! Thank you for everything! You are amazing Jennifer.

Waited an extremely long time for someone at check in desk. She was very rude when she finally helped us. Toilet and sink stopped up. Room smelled horrible and was humid. Tile slippery from residue.

Very friendly staff. This hotel was top notch clean. Every year I look forward to seeing the staff.

Visted on a work trip. Normal checkout is 11, as a member we were able to request a 1230 checkout. We worked until after 4am, so we needed the later checkout to get some rest before the long drive home. At a little after 9am the cleaning staff was BANGING on the door, and when we didn't answer because we were trying to sleep they tried to come in, however the latch was locked so the pushed the door against the lock multiple times while loudly yelling "housekeeping" into the DARK ROOM. We made sure the do not disturb tag was on the door, and double checked it was still there when they were trying to come in. We went ahead and got up, and headed out as my husband and I both have a hard time falling back asleep after something like that. The front desk didn't really seem to care when I brought this up to them. I am still not understanding why housekeeping was even trying to clean a room that was scheduled for check out that day, or why they choose to ignore the door tag and were so aggressively trying to come into our room. Will definitely avoid staying at this property in the future.

Staff was extremely friendly. The employee that greated me asked if I was there on business, when I explained the nature of my stay she asked if I would be leaving before the complimentary breakfast started at 7am, and when I responed yes tobmy suprise she advised she would make sure coffee/pastries would be out at 6am before I left. Sure enough when I went downstairs to leave there was fresh coffee and cinnamon rolls!! It truly is the little things- 5 stars for me!

We got there late to discover our tub was stopped up. They said they would switch us rooms. They waited until shift change. It took them over 2 hours and well after midnight to get us our new room so we could move everything. We have stayed here before and the people were very nice. This time they were rude.

The hotel staff is AMAZING! They go above and beyond from the front desk, to the breakfast Chef to housekeeping! Shout out to Maria at the front desk, her customer service skills are 10 Stars; she is truly one of a kind! The hotel is immaculate; you will see all team members cleaning, mopping not just the housekeeping team! The breakfast is the diverse with options for all! There is a reason this hotel is always booked; best place to stay in Abilene. This is coming from a person who travels full time for work; I have stayed at many hotels all over the country and this hotel by far the best I have stayed at. A HUGE thank you to the entire staff; you guys ROCK!*****

Good the breakfast attendant was overly help helpful in those that where having trouble working things and helping the elderly with mobility issues and very on top of keeping plenty of food warm and ready.She was the highlight of the staff that all were very professional and friendly

Not good, came to find out that I was double charged for the room. Customer service from desk person was bad, her response was, what do you want me to do about it? I think that was very rude and inconsiderate!

The staff was friendly and helpful and there are several dining options within walking distance of the hotel.

Staff was friendly, room very nice and clean, price was very reasonable. Continental breakfast had nice options and coffee available a little longer. Nice property, older building but their staff is on top of any issues, well maintained property.. Parking well lit. Bus Stop near by but lots of places within walking distances.

The room was nice, no complaints. The afternoon/evening desk clerk (sorry, can’t remember her name) was super friendly with a smile and greeting everyone we came in the door. And we love the cinnamon rolls at breakfast!

Located in a convenient place nearby Walmart and a handful of restaurants. Clean, friendly service and staff, breakfast was great many options. The room is big and clean, I like the bench and rolling foot stools, bathroom has nice features like shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap dispensers. Highly recommend!

only thing we didn't like was no milk ,yogurt, butter or cream cheese on Sunday.

the property and the staff were all great. the breakfast, not so much. no hash browns and the bacon was xtra crisp, i should call it burnt. we planned our travel to be checked in by kickoff of sunday night foootball only to find they don't get nbc. it is a free, over the air broadcast, stick an antenna on the roof. it never crossed my mind that i should ask if they had nbc on tv.

I am a regular traveler in Abilene and I usually spend a whole week in every stay. I’ve seen this hotel going from an excellent management to a recently poor one. E.g. it is more a more recurring the fact about missing things at breakfast. Where it is supposed to be yogurt or fruit or rolls, there is a sign that says “Truck is delayed, sorry for the inconvenience”. That could happen once, but not every week. That’s is not a truck delayed, that’s simply poor Operations. A one-night guest may not realize that, but it is clear when you spend 4 days in row. There is a value perception in this brand (Hooiday Inn) a guest has in mind that this location is simply defaulting. Look for other alternatives in town if possible.

The hotel is really well maintained and everything felt clean and fresh. Even though there were a lot of people at breakfast, the staff worked constantly to ensure there was food for everyone. Honestly, best hotel breakfast I've had in years!

I liked the property in general, it looked clean and I had a good night sleep. I had some trouble with breakfast because it took a long time to restock the food and the trash cans were full.

Property was very clean and room were nice. The only complaint I have is the breakfast was not like advertised. My family went down for breakfast on Sunday morning at 8:45a.m and there very minimum food left. Breakfast attendant was not helpful at all. I saw lots of family's try to have breakfast but there was no food.
