First thing, gosh couldn’t find it. Road under construction and post it signs telling us where to go. Then sign in the door saying go back down the street to some motel to check in. Parking lot was muddy and cramped. Room was very old but very clean. I never met any staff or seen anyone that could have even cleaned. The pics of this place are very deceiving. Not worth 150 a night. Far walk to parkway and steep hills.

Really enjoyed staying here. We had a king room with a jacuzzi and highly enjoyed it. The view was great. You are on the side of a hill but they allow you to park at the econo lodge just below it and you can walk anywhere from there. There is also a trolly stop not far from econo lodge. You have to go down there for breakfast as the chalet doesn’t serve it up on the hill which was not a big deal for us. We will definitely be going back. As far as the big situation that was listed previously, there were a couple dead ladybugs and a couple live ones that got in. Which did not bother us at all since ladybugs bring good luck. Plus, it was just a couple and you’re gonna get that being up in the mountains. So once again not as big of a deal as it was made out in a previous post. So, if you’re looking for a place the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the stay was truly relaxing and enjoyable.

We liked the room ok, but there was some construction going on in the parking lot. Also the front desk was closed and we had to check in at the Econ Lodge down the road. May not stay again

The view from the giant window at night was absolutely amazing! Since we were away from all the buildings, it felt so quiet and peaceful, yet the night sky was still beautifully lit up. I loved every moment of it! The only little hiccup was that we didn’t realize we had to sign in at the Econo Lodge front desk, which seemed a bit unusual. But overall, everything else was great!

The location of the chalet was walkable to the popular strip in Gatlinburg with restaurants, etc, which was nice because parking is expensive in town. The pool and chairs are nice, though there were generally no clean pool towels available despite a not busy pool. The cleanliness of the room was great, but it desperately needs to be updated inside and smelled quite bad.

Good view and was cheaper than newer and more updated hotels were. Did not like having to go to a different hotel for the office and for the included continental breakfast. Very steep hill to walk up and down. Not convenient for anyone with mobility challenges.

This property is older but many upgrades going on. Our room was very large with a fireplace. We lived the location on the mountain and even got some exercise walking up and down the hill to town. If you are physically limited, be prepared to drive to town and pay for parking. We had a bear in the back which was fun to watch. The cleaning staff was very accommodating. When we put the do not disturb sign up they still left a bag with towels and necessities outside our door. The one drawback was not having an office on site open. You checked in down the hill at Econo lodge. Hope they plan to open the office eventually. We would love to stay again!!

Stayed in room 202. This place was just OK. Having to go down the hill to check in at the EconoLodge was inconvenient but at least you could park in their lot instead of having to hike up and down that hill to the main strip. Gal at check-in was very nice and accommodating. Accomodations were blah. Very boring and felt more like a dungeon. Glad it was only for one night.

Check in was inconvenient; as we arrived at the Chalet property, we found a note to go back down a steep long hill to check in at the Econo Lodge front desk, which was also where they held the included breakfast (Very inconvenient). We love the convenience of this place and stay at least once a year. It’s quirky and not super modern, but is charming, clean, and convenient. The service is always good, this trip was no exception, and we will definitely stay again when we’re in the area.

This property was absolutely disgusting and the pictures posted look nothing like the actual property. There was mold everywhere, dead gnats on the counter, hairballs on the floor, and a layer of dust on everything. Upon notifying the management of the state of the room they did nothing to correct the situation. I informed them that I would not be staying at their facility and requested a refund, which they denied. I informed them that I had pictures of the state of our room and would be reaching out to Expedia for my refund which didn’t seem to phase them. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and do not book a room at The Chalet Inn

Truly the worst stat I’ve ever had. The rooms look nothing like the pictures and there were bugs crawling everywhere in the room. For reference, we stayed in room 219. The door latch was broken off the wall, the bathroom had no door, and as previously mentioned, BUGS EVERYWHERE. I will never book another stay at The Chalet Inn. In my opinion, it needs to be tore down because it is not tended to properly.

We stayed in the Panoramic Double room. It was clean and spacious. The balcony views were amazing. It is an older property, but has a lot of character. Beds were comfortable. Close to downtown and to the national park. Will be back in the spring, and will be choosing this hotel again.

This was my second stay in a matter of 2 weeks. The Inn is in need of TLC on the outside but the rooms seem well maintained. The beds are rather firm. I loved the view over Gatlinburg from the balcony. A bonus is being close enough to walk to all of the shopping and attractions Gatlinburg has to offer. Yet out of the way so no fighting the traffic or pedestrians when you want to take a drive around the area.

For the $50 a night we paid, you can't beat the value. We had a cute little balcony with a view of the mountains, and you're close enough to downtown Gatlinburg to walk, but far enough that the hotel is nice and quiet. The shower will boil you alive if someone flushes, the towels were a little thin, and the hand soap left an oily residue, but it was a great stay for the price overall. For people with accessibility needs--the CleanTV remote doesn't turn on the Closed Captioning. You can get to the CC menu, but can't select them because there are no arrow keys or enter on the remote. I imagine you'll have to ask the front desk for a remote that will turn on the captions. Great selection of channels, though! TL;DR: If you want the luxury experience, go somewhere else. If you want a quiet hotel with a great view close to downtown for an amazing price, go to the Chalet Inn!

It was very peaceful & the view was fabulous. Overlooked Gatlinburg & all the mountains behind it. Room was large & comfortable. Shower tho, its was a pain to get it to turn on. Had to pull under where the water came out. Totally bad design as I had a hard time pulling it to turn the shower on. Overall, it was great. Did drive down as it is a long walk to the strip.

The room was located way up on a hill but you hade to check in at the bottom of the hill at a different hotel. There was no mention of this until you drive up there and then there was a handwritten sign. The place was scary , no one around and it was a construction site as well. The room was crummy, The linens were mismatched, no bed skirt exposed mattress, furniture did not match, lamp was broken. It basically looked like a store room for all broken and old furniture at the hotel. There were 3 doors to the room a front door weird back door and door to a balcony, that didn’t have the door locked when we got there. Icing on the cake was a black bear seemed to be stalking our building and parking lot. We didn’t even stay there, we left and got a new room somewhere else, hotel refused a refund but I was out of there! Honestly surprised Expedia puts dumps like this on their website.

The room was crummy, The linens were mismatched, no bed skirt exposed mattress, furniture did not match, lamp was broken. It basically looked like a store room for all broken and old furniture at the hotel. There were 3 doors to the room a front door weird back door and door to a balcony, that didn’t have the door locked when we got there. Icing on the cake was a black bear seemed to be stalking our building and parking lot. We didn’t even stay there, we left and got a new room somewhere else, hotel refused a refund but I was out of there! Honestly surprised Expedia puts dumps like this on their website.

The view from the giant window at night was absolutely amazing! Since we were away from all the buildings, it felt so quiet and peaceful, yet the night sky was still beautifully lit up. I loved every moment of it! The only little hiccup was that we didn’t realize we had to sign in at the Econo Lodge front desk, which seemed a bit unusual. But overall, everything else was great!

This property is older but many upgrades going on. Our room was very large with a fireplace. We lived the location on the mountain and even got some exercise walking up and down the hill to town. If you are physically limited, be prepared to drive to town and pay for parking. We had a bear in the back which was fun to watch. The cleaning staff was very accommodating. When we put the do not disturb sign up they still left a bag with towels and necessities outside our door. The one drawback was not having an office on site open. You checked in down the hill at Econo lodge. Hope they plan to open the office eventually. We would love to stay again!!

Stayed in room 202. This place was just OK. Having to go down the hill to check in at the EconoLodge was inconvenient but at least you could park in their lot instead of having to hike up and down that hill to the main strip. Check in was inconvenient; as we arrived at the Chalet property, we found a note to go back down a steep long hill to check in at the Econo Lodge front desk, which was also where they held the included breakfast (Very inconvenient). The room's furniture and fixtures were very dated (1970's), although the bathroom was marginally updated. The staff was pleasent, but were of little help, as they spoke very little English.

It was very peaceful & the view was fabulous. Overlooked Gatlinburg & all the mountains behind it. Room was large & comfortable. Shower tho, its was a pain to get it to turn on. Had to pull under where the water came out. Totally bad design as I had a hard time pulling it to turn the shower on. Overall, it was great. Did drive down as it is a long walk to the strip.

Seems to be a much older place that has been cheaply remodeled. Mix of old and new. Narrow hallways and stairs, amazing how it's ADA compliant. Same owners as Econo Lodge so it's a lower end property. Need to check in there which they don't tell you and limited breakfast is there too, down the road. Would not stay here again.

Really enjoyed staying here. We had a king room with a jacuzzi and highly enjoyed it. The view was great. You are on the side of a hill but they allow you to park at the econo lodge just below it and you can walk anywhere from there. There is also a trolly stop not far from econo lodge. You have to go down there for breakfast as the chalet doesn’t serve it up on the hill which was not a big deal for us. We will definitely be going back. As far as the big situation that was listed previously, there were a couple dead ladybugs and a couple live ones that got in. Which did not bother us at all since ladybugs bring good luck. Plus, it was just a couple and you’re gonna get that being up in the mountains. So once again not as big of a deal as it was made out in a previous post. So, if you’re looking for a place the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the stay was truly relaxing and enjoyable.

The continental breakfast was not a breakfast at all. There are minimal items to choose from and nowhere to sit and eat. Only 3 small tables and it is right at the front desk. There were 15 people in this tiny area trying to get some coffee and bagels. I'm not impressed by the continental breakfast and area to eat it at all.

Check in was easy and the gentleman who checked me in was SO nice and friendly! Hotel in easy walking distance of the strip and was perfect our overnight birthday celebration. Said there was breakfast but we could never find it. Also the pool was closed the whole time we were there and that was something I was looking forward too seeing I am pregnant. It was 80 degrees everyday so not sure why it was closed. Room service was great and made sure we always had fresh towels

It was very quiet. Just be aware that it is on a hill. If you plan on walking to the downtown area, then you will have to walk back up that hill. As far as furniture, there was an old couch and a coffee table that were showing some age. The room appeared to have fairly new flooring. There was a boarded up fireplace, but it was hidden by the old coffee table. It didn’t look that bad with the curtains pulled the room was very dark. If you need dark rooms for sleeping this one is dark. I felt like I was in a cave and I slept very well. I didn’t use them so it didn’t matter to me. There was a continental breakfast offered. I did not use it so I cannot say whether it was good or bad. If you have bad knees, be aware that there are steps to climb and no elevator. For the price point, I was satisfied with my stay. I could have found a newer hotel, but it would have cost a lot more.
