We loved it here. This was the last stop before we were heading back home so we just needed a place to stay for 2 nights. Unexpectedly my favourite accommodation of our entire trip. Host was very kind and helpful, he designed the entire place himself. You can tell he put a lot of thought and care into the place. Close proximity to the airport, AC was working, fast wifi, water pressure in the sink and shower were great. They had 2 parking spots but we were able to park on the street and it always felt safe especially with security watching over. Close to restaurants as well, I would stay here again next time I’m in the area.

The staff was very kind and accommodating to my late arrival. The property is secure behind a gate. The courtyard is lush and offers space to gather. The walls and windows do allow for transfer of sound, but everything was quiet a bit 10:30 pm. I slept well, had a good breakfast and shower. I would stay at this property again, especially when coming through San Jose on to other destinations. Of note, I did use the provided fan, but I don’t think there is an air conditioner.

The atrium filled with trees, vines, koi pond, waterfall and birds was delightful.

Super clean and affordable hotel, very close to the US Embassy in Pavos. Polite, helpful staff and simply perfect for my wife and three children. We will be back.

The room was dirty and the ac was making this really loud terrible noise which kept us up most of the night and the bed was small. The bedsheet had bugs and hair on it and trash was not cleaned. Overall I wouldn't stay here again.

I didn’t enjoy my stay. I had to make a last-minute cancellation for my reservation near La Sabana Park because my spouse couldn’t tolerate the constant motorcycle noise, and there weren’t many alternatives available. As a result, I ended up booking this place. The stuff is speaking english and was nice but the place itself is falling apart. Sokets were loose, bed was squeaking all the time. Urine smell from the restroom was bad. The overall cleaniness wasn't good. The breakfast included fritter with butter and jam, fruits and drinks. The garden inside was pretty good as well as noisiness level ( not close to the highly trafficking road)

Midway between SJO international airport and Tracopa Staff was friendly and helpful. Itcwas very clean contrary to some reviews i read. My sheets were crispy white Birds singing in the morning.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. It was already bad enough that the rooms were absolutely filthy and the sheets were stained and dirty, but there were HUGE flying cockroaches!!! Yes, COCKROACHES! One flew onto my partner’s head! To make matters worse, the owner has no integrity and lied to us about receiving no a refund. When I asked for a refund he assured me he would refund me if I didn’t leave a review. I agreed and left for a different, cleaner hotel. Now, the next morning, Expedia emailed me saying that the owner is refusing to refund despite there being cockroaches in our room and the entire establishment being absolutely FILTHY. DO NOT STAY HERE. It’s not at all what it looks like in the photos! Save yourself the time and money.

Terrible mold/mildew in the room, poor ventilation, hot, and noisy. Actually left and stayed at another hotel after I'd checked in. Final straw was getting bit by a mosquito on top of the mildew and lack of AC.

This property needs some essential repairs and maintenance. Rooms look very old and dirty. Bed was bad, bathroom was dirty. Floor was not clean. There were spiders in the bathroom. AC was not working in one room. Continental Breakfast was good.

The property has this amazing courtyard with plants and running water. There are turtles and fish. But my room was right at floor level and it smells musty from the water. The staff was incredibly friendly and let me switch rooms. But the new room had large bed bugs! The overall area was incredibly safe.

The property is basic and had no frills but it was clean and provided what we needed for our one night in San Jose. There is a complimentary light breakfast which was appreciated and the staff was friendly. Overall if you are looking for an accommodation on a budget this is a good deal.

Beautiful place to stay amazing continental breakfast. Friendly staff. Only knock was the bed was hard and the water pressure/temp. Excellent choice for the price paid though.

Unique property and common areas are gren and nice. But the two bedroom apartment we stayed needed major updates. Floors were floating, bathroom was from the 70s, low ceiling did not gelp either.

Rooms were tired, musty and old. no coffee. But the courtyard was an oasis of plants and a waterfall. Staff was sweet and tried to be accomodating with limited resources..

This place is absolutely disgusting!!! Do not spend your money here!!!!! 1. Our friends paid for a2 bedroom apartment and got a 1 bedroom. they gave away their room because of a delayed flight. Even though we booked our rooms over 6 months ago. They gave my friends a 1 bedroom apartment for 3 people…They also lied and told them that there was no price difference between a one bedroom and a two bedroom when they asked for a partial refund (the website clearly has them as separate prices). 2. The WiFi for the room only works if you keep your phone right next to the FREE-HANGING ROUTER THATS DANGLING BY CABLES NEAR THE FRONT DOOR!!! 3. The floor is warped because they put hardwood flooring right on top of the concrete slab. So every step you take on the hardwood feels like you’re going to fall into a crater. 4. Not only is the flooring messed up, they didn’t install trim around the house. So bugs got in every night. Spiders and roaches. Gross! 5. The floor is rotting in the corners. 6. This place is a huge fire hazard! There’s a live wire above the shower that powers the show. Dangerous! 7. The toilet didn’t work. I contacted the waitstaff via WhatsApp and in person to fix it. They said they did but did not. And when I reached out again, no response. I ended up fixing myself each time anyone had to flush. 8. Black mold behind the toilet!!!! 9. The safe was not working! 10. No hot water!!! This place is absolutely horrible! San Jose is beautiful. Find another hotel.

Une très belle expérience. J’y retournerai la prochaine fois que je viens au Costa Rica. C’était une très belle découverte. Point positif : - les petits appartements sont spacieux. - Le staff est super gentil et il parle anglais. - Le quartier est bien et il y a plein de boutiques proches ( supermarché, restaurant, pharmacie…) - L’appartement est équipé de tout (ustensile, verres, frigidaire, table, …) - Les chiens sont autorisés :) Point négatif : - Le wifi dans notre appartement ne marchait pas bien. Il était disponible à certain endroit seulement et on le perdait constamment. - L’eau des douches ne devient jamais très chaude. On s’y habitue à la longue.

Apartment 2bdr was like small unit with very basic furniture, bed linen & toiletries, small kitchenette with a coil heater , small basic fridge with freezer not working, few mixed utensils that felt greesy, small bathroom with shower curtain, shower worked but water not very hot. Howebver it served our needs as most time spent outdoor. The best part was their mini garden with little pool, green plants, & colorful sitting area. Breakfast was ok, very basic with baked bread rolls, juice, tea/coffee & plate of fruits served on table. Few items were on order with price of 2 eggs any style $3, Omelette $7 etc

First of all, I can't say enough good things about the staff and how friendly and professional they are. The hotel is an older property in need of work but they try to make up for it with their customer service and do a great job at it. They are extremely helpful without being overbearing. 10/10 Now the apartment itself.....Old and in great need of maintenance. The wooden floors were spongy and felt like a trampoline. Bathroom was in major need or work and the shower was grungy and needed a good scouring. Hot water heater didn't work well, made it luke warm at best. Bedrooms could really use a fan because the air conditioning doesn't reach them. The listing said there was a coffee pot in room but there was not one there. All in all, if you want an economic place to stay for one night then it will work. The people are A . But be prepared for some issues

Excellent service and food was the hallmark of this property. The gardens, where we shared a drink and enjoyed coffee in the morning, are beautiful. The rooms can use a bit of an update, especially the A/C which was very loud turning on and off all night trying to keep up with the heat.

Quite and Quant B & B, good for one or two nights. Not hot water.

I liked the ambience created by all the greenery. The coffee is terrible, but Cafe a la Moda, a10 minute walk away, has good coffee No hot showers, maybe no big deal in a tropical climate

Absolutely loved staying here. The entire staff was extremely friendly and wonderful. The breakfast was also delicious. The place was also gorgeous and the room was clean and spacious. 1000/10 recommend

There was a loud party going on in the Courtyard late into the night and when I tried calling the front desk nobody answered the phone.

Bed bugs in the bed and roaches on the wall. I was locked in and told by the security guard I wasn’t able to leave at 11pm. I just wanted to get some water and food after a long flight. He walked me back to my room and directed me towards the bathroom sink and told me to drink from there, then when I said I want to get something to eat he just laughed and said no. Nightmare place to stay

A really nice place to stay, with very personable and helpful staff, especially for both the economical rate, and the convenient location relative to the US Embassy (for those who have appointments or business there). It's also a short drive to a huge Multi-Plaza Mall, the CIMA Hospital, the National Stadium at La Sabana Park, and other important places. Very comfortable beds, great bathroom facilities, and nice dining area and garden, fish and turtle pond, etc. Not perfect . . . but almost :) Overall an exceptional value for a B&B.

Place located in good and safe area.

Dislikes: -breakfast was just fruit and bread/jam, nothing else -pillow cases had weird/uncomfortable beads -airport shuttle offered, however Uber is MUCH cheaper -the body wash and shampoo were pretty much empty Random comments: -it’s in a residential area, and there’s not much around; you have to walk about 20 minutes to get to a small plaza

We look forward to coming to this place as it is in a great location, in the middle of everything. Easy to get to Escazu and Sabana and is a good price. But now they got a new chef who doesn't want to make the fresh bread knots that we loved and was one of the main reasons for coming here. Now it's just a couple of pieces of a baguette, which is disappointing. Please bring the freshly baked bread knots back and tell the new chef to stop being lazy! Also, they stopped providing milk it is now only the coffee mate creamer/powder. The room itself was fine especially when we're just there to leave our stuff and sleep. Bed was clean. The staff were very helpful and speak English and went out of their way to help us when our car got broken into. Very thankful for their help!

Love this place. This was our third time staying here. The continental breakfast is the best I love the fresh bread, jam and fruits!! The location is perfect for us. Will continue to come back.

We loved this place once we got inside. Alex the host was very friendly and helpful. It was basic, but clean and very reasonable. The garden was lovely and the breakfast was well presented and delicious. For a full made to order breakfast there is an additional charge. So good for the small price. Just try not to get there after dark.

Pros: This bed and breakfast is very cute, with a "rainforest" at the center of it, complete with birds and a small waterfall and koi pond. The price per night was good, and I liked that a continental breakfast was provided daily from 7-10am. The front desk staff was also helpful and friendly. Cons: I received towels with stains on them for the first couple of days, there was no "do not disturb" or "clean my room, please" signs for my room even though other guests had them, when my room was cleaned, I didn't receive more toilet paper and ran out of it in the middle of the night (I had to go to the front desk and ask for more each time), although we had fresh baked bread for breakfast, breakfast was the same every day: bread, coffee, fruit, and juice.
