The location in downtown La Jolla is great, but the hotel is pretty old and the room is clean but nothing fancy. The breakfast definitely needs improvement, but the staff was friendly and nice.

I was on the second floor. My room was moderately large. The bed was comfortable. There was a good television that I could attach a Roku player to. The view out the window was of an alley with dumpsters. There were wooden shutters on the window. The room was reasonably quiet, but I did hear some noise from the restaurant downstairs occasionally around 8:30 PM when the kitchen was doing prep work. They have a breakfast in the morning in pleasant room that has an outdoor balcony. I ate oatmeal and eggs there most mornings. They have coffee and tea and other hot breakfast items, including pastries and cereals. The breakfast is free. The room was roughly $400 a night. I would stay there again, but she was a higher floor if possible. I think it is one of the better choices to be near the walkable places you would enjoy in La Jolla Village.
