Rooms are often spacious with river or forest outlooks, but many are traditional tatami without in-room showers. Some find interiors dated, bedding thin, climate control limited, or river noise noticeable.

Staff are widely praised for friendliness, attentiveness, and language support (English/Putonghua). A few report long check-in waits, understaffing in the restaurant, or an isolated rude interaction.

Conveniently located near the Kurokawa Onsen street and bus access, and easy to find. Natural riverside setting is relaxing, though some mention loud water sounds or a quieter local scene with some closed shops.

Buffet dinner and breakfast are frequently described as abundant and tasty, with free-flow alcohol and good variety (including some vegetarian options). Downsides include crowding, slow or reduced replenishment at later seatings, uneven temperature/quality, and a preference from some for kaiseki.
