89歳の母と一緒に一泊しました。ミャンマー出身のスタッフさん達の心のこもった「おもてなし」に癒されました。食事は朝晩とも非常に美味しく海の幸、山の幸を堪能することが出来ました。ただ、エレベーターがないので足腰の悪い方には不向きかもしれません。

This is a wonderful Ryokan. The staff are lovely and the facilities are great. This is a relaxing small Ryokan with great food and we found it to be the highlight of our trip so far, wishing we stayed two nights instead of just one. The dinner was absolutely delicious and though it was a lot of food we loved every course. The private Onsenji were clean and had great soaps and shampoos. This place is a luxurious and relaxing spot that would be a great option for anyone visiting Kinosaki Onsen.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in diesem kleinen traditionellen japanischen Hotel. Der Service war ausgezeichnet, immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war traditionell japanisch und sehr gut. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und für japanische Verhältnisse sehr groß. Die Bar war rund um die Uhr zugänglich und kostenlos. Kinosakionsen ist ein süßes kleines Dorf mit 7 Onsen, die man als Gast kostenlos nutzen kann. Shopping und Restaurants entlang der Straße am Fluss sind sehr schön.

We had the opportunity to stay at this onsen hotel and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The buffet dinner was a highlight — beautifully presented and offering a wide variety of dishes that felt like something out of a Michelin-star restaurant. It was a real treat to enjoy both gourmet cuisine and local delicacies in one meal. The bar was another pleasant surprise, with a great selection of local cocktails and drinks that added a special touch to the evening. Of course, the hot spring spa was everything we hoped for — relaxing, clean, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Overall, this was a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a mix of luxury, local flavor, and relaxation.

We were greeted with freshly made hot tea and cakes, and an incredibly informative introduction to the hotel, amenities, and local area. They also provided wine in the lobby and an open bar with multiple drinks and small snacks until midnight and 0200 respectively which was almost unbelievable until we saw it ourselves.

Wonderful first time experience in Kinosakionsen! This hotel is in the perfect location. It's a very short walk from the train station and all of the 7 public onsens. Also a short walk to the Kinosaki Ropeway. There are 2 private onsens in the hotel where couples/families can soak together. Every floor has a light to indicate if available. Service is impeccable and easy to communicate in English with the staff. Food is plentiful! Breakfast and Dinner were included as well as an afternoon tea service. All you care to eat! Fair warning, don't go crazy at the steam bar! Save some stomach for the rice dish. Truly delicious!

Amazing place to stay in Kinosaki Onsen town! My girlfriend and I got the “kasuga” room on the second floor, which has a view of the Main Street. Room is just the right size, and they provided everything we needed for the stay in the room - from tea to water to toiletries to a Dyson hair dryer. Yukatas were also provided for us to use the in-house onsen, as well as for going to the other 7 onsens in town. The dinner included a buffet where we chose the different seafoods for them to steam for us - and every person gets a guaranteed half crab! The crab was so delicious. As they were steaming our food we were served sashimi, and after we finished the steamed portion we were served Tajima beef, which was also really delicious! Both the Tajima beef and crabs are local specialties so I’m really happy they included them in the food program. There is also a matcha experience and a lounge open all day serving snacks and drinks (changes based on time of day). The staff is also really attentive and helpful - thank you for an amazing stay in Kinosaki Onsen!

Nice and Quaint ryokan. However , they can do with a lit up signage bearing the name of the hotel in English. This being the beginning of winter, things gets dark early. We arrived at 6 and had a bit of a problem locating the hotel. A clueless/ unhelpful next door neighbour didn’t help matters either. We actually went to the Onsen next door and asked for directions only to be given unhelpful answers. I am sure he knew the Ryokan was exactly next door. The food was nice and the free flow liquers helped warm us up very quickly. And point to note: they mean business when they say that checkout time is at 10am. We got locked out when we tried to access our room and luggage at 9.57am. Do not bring heavy luggage as the narrow stairs makes it challenging. Plus point is that you have two private indoor baths for 6 rooms ( that is the number of rooms they have. The Myanmese staff manning the ryokan are helpful and very cheerful.

Best service I've ever had at a hotel. The staff are super kind, we felt as if we were in someone's home with them taking care of us. Rooms were kept clean and the place had lots of included amenities to partake in. If you're looking for a modern ryokan experience, I highly recommend!

Hotel staff was very attentive. Room was clean and well maintained. Food offerings were plenty. We were most impressed with the dinner service provided by the young lady staff. Service was personable and adequate. Our room was facing the back and there was construction going on next to the property so there was some noise during the stay. We stayed two nights.

Hotel staff was very attentive. Room was clean and well maintained. Food offerings were plenty. We were most impressed with the dinner service provided by the young lady staff. Service was personable and adequate. Our room was facing the back and there was construction going on next to the property so there was some noise during the stay. We stayed two nights.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in diesem kleinen traditionellen japanischen Hotel. Der Service war ausgezeichnet, immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war traditionell japanisch und sehr gut. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und für japanische Verhältnisse sehr groß. Die Bar war rund um die Uhr zugänglich und kostenlos. Kinosakionsen ist ein süßes kleines Dorf mit 7 Onsen, die man als Gast kostenlos nutzen kann. Shopping und Restaurants entlang der Straße am Fluss sind sehr schön.

I read the reviews from this stay and was expecting much more. The rooms were tiny, the meals were good but not exceptional compared to kaiseki we had during our stay in Hakone. The staff was nice and the little treats/cakes were good but overall we were disappointed. Also there is no shower in the room because you are expected to use the bath houses.

Amazing place to stay in Kinosaki Onsen town! My girlfriend and I got the “kasuga” room on the second floor, which has a view of the Main Street. Room is just the right size, and they provided everything we needed for the stay in the room - from tea to water to toiletries to a Dyson hair dryer. Yukatas were also provided for us to use the in-house onsen, as well as for going to the other 7 onsens in town. The dinner included a buffet where we chose the different seafoods for them to steam for us - and every person gets a guaranteed half crab! The crab was so delicious. As they were steaming our food we were served sashimi, and after we finished the steamed portion we were served Tajima beef, which was also really delicious! Both the Tajima beef and crabs are local specialties so I’m really happy they included them in the food program. There is also a matcha experience and a lounge open all day serving snacks and drinks (changes based on time of day). The staff is also really attentive and helpful - thank you for an amazing stay in Kinosaki Onsen!

This ryokan was an amazing and incredible experience. The people here were so kind and their service was on another level! From the moment we walked in to check in, we were comfortably seated to tea and refreshments. Their morning breakfast.. we were amazed at the quality of the spread. Their dinner felt like a feast and had such curated foods. During our whole stay here, it felt like a wellness stay from the healthy meals, snack/tea times, aromatherapy towels, and private onsen (there are two onsens on the main floor that is shared by the guests but can be privately used one at a time). Beds and rooms were so comfortable as well! Thank you so much for the stay, we had a wonderful experience!!

従業員の方はミャンマーの方で日本語はペラペラではなかったですが、一生懸命に丁寧に対応頂き、温かいもてなしを受けました。 特に料理は全て美味しく、味付けも濃すぎず、大変満足でした。また機会があれば是非訪れたいと思います。

Cute property with wonderful staff. I can't say enough about the hospitality that we enjoyed here. The staff is incredibly thoughtful and helpful. The property has fun decorations and a great view from the eating area on second floor. The food is plentiful! I have a very bad reaction to chemical MSG which is a flavor enhancer used in many Japanese foods. The staff was very helpful in helping me avoid this. Previous to arriving, based on the communication over email I was not sure if I would be able to eat at the hotel, but once we were there it was very clear how they were able to help with my dietary restriction and the food was great. I also forgot a pair of shoes in the lobby and they had it sent to Tokyo. Really great service.

Best service I've ever had at a hotel. The staff are super kind, we felt as if we were in someone's home with them taking care of us. Rooms were kept clean and the place had lots of included amenities to partake in. If you're looking for a modern ryokan experience, I highly recommend!

This was a highlight of my trip to Japan. The Kinosaki Onsen is a jewel and worth the effort to visit. And staying at Sumihei Bettei Tokitotoki was pure joy. The staff could not have been nicer. The location was ideal... and at every turn, there was someone there to help us learn about the town, navigating the spa houses and making sure we had a snack or beverage if we ever needed it. This place is a magical gem and well-worth every penny.
This was a highlight of my trip to Japan. The Kinosaki Onsen is a jewel and worth the effort to visit. And staying at Sumihei Bettei Tokitotoki was pure joy. The staff could not have been nicer. The location was ideal... and at every turn, there was someone there to help us learn about the town, navigating the spa houses and making sure we had a snack or beverage if we ever needed it. Wonderful first time experience in Kinosakionsen! This hotel is in the perfect location. It's a very short walk from the train station and all of the 7 public onsens. Also a short walk to the Kinosaki Ropeway. There are 2 private onsens in the hotel where couples/families can soak together. Every floor has a light to indicate if available. Service is impeccable and easy to communicate in English with the staff. Food is plentiful! Breakfast and Dinner were included as well as an afternoon tea service. All you care to eat! Fair warning, don't go crazy at the steam bar! Save some stomach for the rice dish. Truly delicious!

Nice and Quaint ryokan. However , they can do with a lit up signage bearing the name of the hotel in English. This being the beginning of winter, things gets dark early. We arrived at 6 and had a bit of a problem locating the hotel. A clueless/ unhelpful next door neighbour didn’t help matters either. We actually went to the Onsen next door and asked for directions only to be given unhelpful answers. I am sure he knew the Ryokan was exactly next door. The food was nice and the free flow liquers helped warm us up very quickly. And point to note: they mean business when they say that checkout time is at 10am. We got locked out when we tried to access our room and luggage at 9.57am. Do not bring heavy luggage as the narrow stairs makes it challenging. Plus point is that you have two private indoor baths for 6 rooms ( that is the number of rooms they have. The Myanmese staff manning the ryokan are helpful and very cheerful.

This ryokan exceeded expectations! The tea served at check in, multi-course dinner, amenities (private onsens!), delicious breakfast, and freshly made mochi at checkout all create an amazing stay. We had the opportunity to stay at this onsen hotel and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The buffet dinner was a highlight — beautifully presented and offering a wide variety of dishes that felt like something out of a Michelin-star restaurant. It was a real treat to enjoy both gourmet cuisine and local delicacies in one meal. The bar was another pleasant surprise, with a great selection of local cocktails and drinks that added a special touch to the evening. Of course, the hot spring spa was everything we hoped for — relaxing, clean, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Overall, this was a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were greeted with freshly made hot tea and cakes, and an incredibly informative introduction to the hotel, amenities, and local area. They also provided wine in the lobby and an open bar with multiple drinks and small snacks until midnight and 0200 respectively which was almost unbelievable until we saw it ourselves.

Outstanding staff. A lovely roykan to stay at. Amazing food, like if it was a Michelin restaurant. Nice onsen at the hotel. We loved the room.

Wonderful first time experience in Kinosakionsen! This hotel is in the perfect location. It's a very short walk from the train station and all of the 7 public onsens. Also a short walk to the Kinosaki Ropeway. There are 2 private onsens in the hotel where couples/families can soak together. Every floor has a light to indicate if available. Service is impeccable and easy to communicate in English with the staff. Food is plentiful! Breakfast and Dinner were included as well as an afternoon tea service. All you care to eat! Fair warning, don't go crazy at the steam bar! Save some stomach for the rice dish. Truly delicious!

Amazing place to stay in Kinosaki Onsen town! My girlfriend and I got the “kasuga” room on the second floor, which has a view of the Main Street. Room is just the right size, and they provided everything we needed for the stay in the room - from tea to water to toiletries to a Dyson hair dryer. Yukatas were also provided for us to use the in-house onsen, as well as for going to the other 7 onsens in town. The dinner included a buffet where we chose the different seafoods for them to steam for us - and every person gets a guaranteed half crab! The crab was so delicious. As they were steaming our food we were served sashimi, and after we finished the steamed portion we were served Tajima beef, which was also really delicious! Both the Tajima beef and crabs are local specialties so I’m really happy they included them in the food program. There is also a matcha experience and a lounge open all day serving snacks and drinks (changes based on time of day). The staff is also really attentive and helpful - thank you for an amazing stay in Kinosaki Onsen!

This place is absolutely amazing! The property is visually stunning, I could just sit in the lounge all day! The staff are friendly, great at their jobs, and total professionals. They knock it out of the park with their food, drink, and tea selection. The private onsen is super nice and a relaxing break from the busy public baths. This is one of my favorite stays ever! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

This ryokan was an amazing and incredible experience. The people here were so kind and their service was on another level! From the moment we walked in to check in, we were comfortably seated to tea and refreshments. Their morning breakfast.. we were amazed at the quality of the spread. Their dinner felt like a feast and had such curated foods. During our whole stay here, it felt like a wellness stay from the healthy meals, snack/tea times, aromatherapy towels, and private onsen (there are two onsens on the main floor that is shared by the guests but can be privately used one at a time). Beds and rooms were so comfortable as well! Thank you so much for the stay, we had a wonderful experience!!

Nice and Quaint ryokan. However , they can do with a lit up signage bearing the name of the hotel in English. This being the beginning of winter, things gets dark early. We arrived at 6 and had a bit of a problem locating the hotel. A clueless/ unhelpful next door neighbour didn’t help matters either. We actually went to the Onsen next door and asked for directions only to be given unhelpful answers. I am sure he knew the Ryokan was exactly next door. The food was nice and the free flow liquers helped warm us up very quickly. And point to note: they mean business when they say that checkout time is at 10am. We got locked out when we tried to access our room and luggage at 9.57am. Do not bring heavy luggage as the narrow stairs makes it challenging. Plus point is that you have two private indoor baths for 6 rooms ( that is the number of rooms they have. The Myanmese staff manning the ryokan are helpful and very cheerful.

スタッフは、みなさんミャンマーの方でしたが、丁寧な接客でした。 館内の説明や料理の説明もわかりやすかったです。外湯巡りに行くにも便利な立地でした。 客室が6部屋だけなので、ラウンジでもゆっくり飲み物をいただきながら過ごす事が出来ます。 飲み物の種類も豊富でしたし、客室に用意されているミネラルウォーターは、常温の物と冷蔵庫内に冷やされた物の2種類ありました。 敷地内に駐車場はありませんが、近くにコインパーキングがあったので便利でした。 今度は、今回とは違う季節に訪れたいです。

Excellent hotel with friendly staff who were very accommodating to tourists who didnt speak Japanese! We were a little disappointed in the food but if you enjoy traditional Japanese ryokan cuisine, you'll probably appreciate the meals. We personally preferred the more modern Japanese food we had elsewhere on our trip.

First time in kinosaki and this place checked every box. Extremely clean and extremely great staff. The meals were excellent as well. It’s a small resort with only a small amount of rooms but our room had a river side window that was wonderful in the morning. For anyone worried about noise the whole town is very quiet so it’s not an issue at all. The resort has 2 private onsens and what’s really nice is lights throughout the hotel show if it’s opened or not so you don’t have to go all the way down to check. Also incase it’s not clear the resort does include access to the towns wonderful public onsens. At night and throughout the day the lounge is open for guests and includes open access to an open selection of snacks and liquor including: sake, wine, and beer. 10/10 wonderful resort wonderful staff Dinner: excellent.if you don’t order anything extra or special: Start off by picking whatever items you want steamed (big selection of veggies, sea food, pork belly, oyster, etc.) they also allowed one half serving of the famous crab per person. Then they serve you a large beautiful sashimi platter. Then they bring you the main course. For us it was the tajima beef with rice and a couple other ways to enjoy it as well. Drinks were open for whatever you wanted and however much you wanted. If there was any negative it would be no shower in our room which dinner matter because the 2 onsens had a shower+ soaps and it was nice to get ready down stairs and soak after.
