Upsides: My room was great. Clean and comfortable. I could (and did) walk to the beach. The back garden area is very pretty. Downsides: WiFi was really inconsistent. Worse: I was traveling by myself and deliberately chose a hotel that was going to have hotel staff present at night, for safety. But unlike the website had indicated, the staff were almost never in the office, day or night. This felt unsafe to me. And maybe worst: When I was in the garden area, I glanced into one of the bird cages and saw a rat eating bird food. I'm sorry, but the sweetness of the birds ends where attracting rats begins. The hotel needs to get a handle on this. I'd already checked out but was relaxing in the garden before leaving. When I saw the rat, I left immediately and didn't look back.

Some pulled up and saw this little motel in the middle of what looks like a questionable neighborhood and my husband was like, no way, what did you do? We usually stay in nice hotels w a pool, but this was a 2-day biz trip and I didn’t want to spend a lot. The clerk was super friendly and helpful, and let us loo at our room first, it was in the middle of a sink repair and not ready, so she showed us another room available and it was great. Spacious, clean, well decorated and full amenities like fridge, microwave kitchen supplies and a nice clean bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the suite very much. Parking was limited but overall it’s a nice place to stay of the hotel isn’t your vacation place. This isn’t the type of place to stay as your trip destination, but it is a lovely little renovated place that serves its purpose. Thanks for the stay.

Friendly and courteous front desk. Doesn’t look appealing outside but inside has been upgraded. Quite location and along Dixie highway. Parking in front of property is limited but they have an additional back parking area.

Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. Landscaping and courtyard is absolutely beautiful. Rare find with birds and turtles for your viewing entertainment. Ben, thank you for your hospitality and allwoing us to play with Paco and Baby! We will stay again!!

My room was dirty. The welcome mat was filthy. A light plate was missing from a light switch. The place is rundown and off a main road with cars driving by with music blaring. I checked in, contemplated what to do and decided to check out. The hotel would not refund my money and Expedia was not helpful despite me explaining the situation and indicating I have photos to support this.

Random people came knocking on my door all night. The room smelt like cigarettes. The train tracks are right beside the horel and it runs constantly. Every time you flushed the toilet it came up in the shower. Condom wrappers are on th fround everywhere. On a positive note the birds and greenery were beautiful. The lady at the front desk was very helpful but very overwhelmed with all the problems

1st time stay. Great price! Everything was clean. Great use of space. Pictures were not deceiving. Rooms were individually decorated. Love the shower, pictures, and plants. It had everything you needed. Convenient and quiet like a bungalow. Great temporary get-a-way from hustle & bustle. Will come back again!

When we got here, had to call to have someone meet us to check in . Room looks new - micro, fridge - no utensils- no coffee pot ( around corner is a keurig) nothing no cups . No hairdryer, tv did not work ( she came and tried and apologized, offered to move us at 8 pm) roach in room. Instruction at check in would have been good - we went out and bought a bag of ice.

Though this property is inexpensive, I would not recommend. We arrived to no one at the office and it being locked. The manager showed up within five minutes, but still inconvenient. We paid extra for a garden room. Not worth the money. Only one roll of toilet paper provided. Room was updated, but shower only had warm water, not hot and major repairs throughout room were needed. Some of the lights didn’t work the remote didn’t have the battery very cramped and looked as they didn’t finish cleaning. Bed was hard, and no coffee was available. The Wi-Fi router shares an outlet with the top toaster, and gets unplugged. The property is located across the street from the Brightline train track, which goes by about every five minutes. If there are soundproof rooms, I wouldn’t be able to hear it. Therefore not sound proof, rooms, not free coffee, not free reliable Wi-Fi. Basic things that you would expect from any place you stay. Not worth the money at all.

Beautiful unit. Excellent up to date interior remodeling. Shower/Bathroom very well done and excellent water pressure in rain shower head and wand. WiFi did not work for the TV or either of our phones. Office phone went to VM and it was full. Called after hours # and he sent a very nice young lady by to let us know the PW had changed. WiFi worked on the TV for 20 mins and then the low connection was lost. Couldn’t reestablish. Never an option to connect phones. Turned AC off and remote would not connect to turn back on. Smoke Detector was missing. Notified after hours guy by text the following morning. He told us to point remote at the unit (which we had tried many times) and that he was sure “it’s an easy fix as they never have issues with them.” No one in the closet sized “office” as we left. We did not have to leave a deposit but another guest leaving when we did at 9AM was not able to reach anyone by phone to return her cash deposit. Very nice unit could use some work on the WiFi, AC, and smoke detector issue along with customer service. Pictures of exterior taken in the best light. Would suggest Google Earth view of the area for best info.

This was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bed barely fit and there was no room to walk around it. There was also.no remote for the television and when I called to request one I was told they would get back to me but never did. The whole experience was disappointing and I cannot recommend this motel to anyone.

We were a little skeptical when we pulled up, typical, old Florida motel feel but the room was newly remodeled, clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that TV options were limited and the "pastries and coffee" others mentioned, weren't offered to us. Would definitely stay there again as it had lots of walkable dining and bar options.

My wife and I were headed back to Orlando from a business trip and decided to stay here on a whim. WOW!!!! We were super impressed. The room was completely remodeled and beautiful. Corey and Rob were amazing hosts, even better than most high end hotels. We will be back again!!!

Great stay! I really loved the general area, right near great restaurants, and the beach. The manager Rob was really helpful with local restaurants etc and helping me get settled. Overall a really nice place and will definitely come back

The Wi-Fi router shares an outlet with the top toaster, and gets unplugged. The property is located across the street from the Brightline train track, which goes by about every five minutes. If there are soundproof rooms, I wouldn’t be able to hear it. Therefore not sound proof, rooms, not free coffee, not free reliable Wi-Fi. Basic things that you would expect from any place you stay. Not worth the money at all.
Though this property is inexpensive, I would not recommend. We arrived to no one at the office and it being locked. The manager showed up within five minutes, but still inconvenient. We paid extra for a garden room. Not worth the money. Only one roll of toilet paper provided. Room was updated, but shower only had warm water, not hot and major repairs throughout room were needed. I want a refund. The place is horrible. We left five min after check in. This place is a halfway house motel straight out of the movies. Went to ft office and no one was there. Called the phone number no one answered. Need my money back immediately

Friendly and courteous front desk. Doesn’t look appealing outside but inside has been upgraded. Quite location and along Dixie highway. Parking in front of property is limited but they have an additional back parking area.

Bad from the very beginning. 1) We arrived at 11 pm and there was nobody at the reception. There was just a sign with a telefone number to call (no wsapp, just calls!!), what it meant a big problem for us that we didn't have a US phone to call. We had to ask a lady to call for us and then wait like 10 minutes for the guy to arrive. 2) The bedroom had an awful smell, a mix between humidity and lack of fresh air. 3) last but not the least, they charged us more than what our reservation said. We asked the guy in charge and he said there were other fees and whatever, not fine at all. 4) the coffee place very dirty, with birds and dust from days. In conclusion, look for another place to stay. Expensive and doesn't worth it

sold home & needed an affordable close place to land for a few days. Close to 95 & good restaurants & bars. Staff was friendly and our room was clean and updated bathroom was nice. Easy parking.

I was really happy that I went ahead and booked the Barefoot Mailman Motel. It has that you’re at home feel. It’s comfortable. Everything was nice, clean and organized. They have a wonderful coffee bar with tables and chairs. This Motel will definitely be my new spot from now on. I really enjoyed my stay here.

When we first drove up we were not sure we would stay, but decided to at least check out the room. When we went around the corner we saw the garden area which was more like what we saw online. The room was clean and nice, so we stayed. Bed was comfortable. Disappointed when we wanted coffee in the morning....no cream or sugar (only pink packets). OK for those who drink it black.

We were a little skeptical when we pulled up, typical, old Florida motel feel but the room was newly remodeled, clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that TV options were limited and the "pastries and coffee" others mentioned, weren't offered to us. Would definitely stay there again as it had lots of walkable dining and bar options.

This was a last minute booking due to a change in our plans. We needed something in the general area of family and needed something within a budget. The motel did have those two things. However, the advertised accommodations left much to be desired. Although the room was clean. The shower was small annd dark and there was no hot water. Warm showers only. The area where they had a small coffee maker was located is where they several birds in cages and the bird poop was everywhere. One long term guest told us not to use the toaster that was there because she had seen rats around it in the past. There was a train track on the other side of the road from the motel that ran continuously and the noise was disturbing. We paid for three nights but left after two.

A few pastries and some apples and oranges are insufficient in consideration of the price charged. Breakfast arrived after most guests had checked out. A small box of pastries just did not cut it.
