Our room/suite was very nice. It was clean and stocked well. The granola treat from a local baker was a nice treat. We liked the outside seating areas by our room. Great for relaxing and stargazing. The French press coffee maker worked well but we prefer a regular coffee maker. The French press is a lot to clean in between uses. A recycle waste container would be nice too. Most hotels have these now. The pool area and building by it was outdated and kind of creepy. There should be umbrellas at the pool. The pool is not close to the Bungalows. It is on the same property but quite a walk through the sandy paths. This is an interesting property and overall it is pretty nice.

This place is amazing but we did have some hiccups. The check in process was less than straight forward leading to delays even though we arrived well after check in time. The pool needed cleaning badly to the point we couldn’t it (more dead bugs than a fresh water lake), and it was the main amenity that made us choose this place. I even tried cleaning it myself but the pool cleaning net was broken, which is probably why it was so dirty.

The bungalows are very beautiful and comfortable. However the hot tub was not working which would have been great to know before - that was one of the main reasons we picked this place - also - in addition to the room fee I have two charges on my card from the bungalows for $89 each which I can’t get anyone to respond to me about / help me with. This is a significant amount of money and I need it back. Resorting to review here to see if I can get help

Beautiful surroundings. Great room with everything you could need including full kitchen with drinks and snacks. Pool was wonderful to cool off and the deck chairs and lounges perfect for stargazing!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. Checking in was a tad difficult in that it isn’t as easy as a hotel. But, once we had a representative on the phone, they had us in the room fairly quickly. Afterwards, we decided that the solitude of not having a hotel like reception and people in and out all the time was great. The Bungalows offer a nice quiet place to enjoy the desert. It is all decorated nicely with new furnishings. We really appreciated that all the outdoor furniture had been wiped down and cleaned up so that we didn’t have to get our clothes all dusty and dirty as happens out in the desert. The restaurant was closed (I think just for the summer heated months) but we were happy to seek out restaurants in and around the area - many places just a few minutes drive away. The pool and jacuzzi are a bit of a hike away from the rooms but looked nice when we hiked around the place. This might be a negative for some but for us we just enjoy the solitude that the Bungalows offer in a great way. We will be certain to return when we are next in the Joshua Tree area.

i had to look around for the charger with not specific instructions. Then, the charger got stuck on my car and i had to spend the whole night and the morning just to figure out how to take it off. The reason why I chose this hotel was the EV charger, but very old, cheap charger is now stuck in my car, and now I have to tow my car to the dealership. What a great experience

We loved staying here! The room was wonderful and we got takeout from the cafe and ate on our patio overlooking a beautiful view with Joshua trees. The pool and hot tub were lovely and no one else was there. There are trails to walk among the Joshua trees and an ideal overlook. It’s expensive but we splurged to stay for a concert there. The amphitheater is a gorgeous place for a show. Highly recommend and hope to go back if there are special rates sometime!

Friend and I stayed here one night in August to go to a nearby stargazing tour in Joshua Tree. The location was perfect; a short drive to where we needed to be. Room wise, this place was great! Clean, comfy, and modern. The beds and pillows were super comfy and loved the floor to ceiling windows to look out. The bungalows are in a place away from the rest of the retreat but easy to find if you follow the signs. At night there are lights to drive around the property. It's a short 5 min. walk to the pool area, which was refreshing given how hot it gets. However there are no umbrellas and very little shade. We only got to use the pool for an hour since check in was 3 pm and we needed to go to dinner at 6. No TV in the room which was fine; a/c worked great and was cooling. Shower and bathroom facilities were also nice and having a kitchenette was good but we didn't need. Overall comfy and relaxing stay for one night. They email/text you the code to get into the property two hours before check in. We didn't download or need to use the app they recommend to check in. Bungalow came with a parking spot. Would definitely stay again if in the area!

Fun retro bungalow. Excellent accommodations, comfy bed, the shower was perfect and the floor to ceiling wrap arouns windows were chefs kiss. Lots of outdoor spaces to relax. Thr only downside was initially finding it. But once we figured it out it was smooth sailing. We were looking forward to using the fire pit but it was broken. Regardless it was the perfect 2 day escape for my hubby and i to celebrate our anniversary ❤️ wouls stay here again!

The property was very serene. The bungalow was also very nicely designed with a mid century modern style. Very comfortable sofa, chairs, and bed. Had our stay been longer we would have used the kitchen. The cafe was closed and we never found how to get to the pool without walking. It was 100+ degrees out and we wanted to drive to the pool but never found way. As far as asking someone for help, you have to text them as there isn’t any one on prem to ask. Aside from the lack of personnel we both felt the bungalow and property was very nice. A very peaceful inviting atmosphere with lots of outdoor areas to relax and meditate.

The bungalow we rented was immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the area surrounding the bungalow is beautifully landscaped. The area is quiet and peaceful. There were dozens of hummingbirds and birds every morning enjoying the flowers!

The good - what a wonderful place with amazing views. Very comfortable. Lovely place to relax. A few suggestions … if dogs were there previously please vacuum more. There were dog hairs everywhere. The knives in the kitchen are blunt. We could not figure out the heating at all. Please put small plates in the kitchen too

A smelly room and rude management. When I checked in. It smelled awful; admittedly, I should have told them about that right away, but I was overly optimistic that perhaps the smell would dissipate, plus I had spent the day hiking in Joshua Tree, and was at the property for a concert, so I did not have the time or energy to deal with it. I did not spend any time in the room until I went to sleep. At 1:30 am, the stench awoke me and I was unable to fall back asleep. I then spent 90 minutes on the phone and waiting for return calls from the management company. The representative told me falsely that they'd help, but nobody ever called me back. I had to pay for a room elsewhere. The management did not believe my story, basically saying that I lied. They claimed that their housekeeper said it smelled fine before I checked in and that they had somebody smell the room afterwards and it smelled fine then too. I have absolutely no motivation to lie. It's obvious that I am telling the truth--I stayed at a Hilton hotel ten minutes down the road, checking in there at 3 am. They offered to refund me 15%, and did so, but that is not satisfactory. I shouldn't have to pay for 2 rooms one night. They will not treat you well. Stay elsewhere.

I really liked the open feel with the views of the desert and mountains. I will plan to return. However, you should spray for cockroaches. I know to expect critters naturally being in the desert but they belong outside. I didn't see any bugs in my bungalow until my last night and the morning I was leaving. (I saw 3 roaches).

Most comfortable bed I have ever slept on—even more comfortable than my quite nice home mattress. Great night’s of sleep. Very quiet. Very peaceful. Close to the National Park entrance. I feel amazingly refreshed. And it was a very cool aesthetic to the bungalow as well. Hip but also equally as comfortable. And the staff is very responsive on text. A+++++

I stayed here before and loved it but this time was not great. Your ac unit is SO loud and I woke up a dozen or more times last night when it cycled on off. I had a terrible nights sleep. It was super disappointing to pay that and not relax :(

The room was a perfect size and space. King size bed that was amazingly comfortable. The room has a kitchenette with two electric stoves and needed amenities for cooking if you desire. The view of the desert was perfect out the glass wall leading out to the back patio , yet private.

We had a very quiet stay at Homestead Hotel. The hotel has a beautiful design, but the area is extremely quiet and felt somewhat unsafe at night. We didn’t feel comfortable stepping outside after dark, especially after seeing several coyotes, which increased our concern. Overall, the hotel was very clean. It’s conveniently located about a 30-minute drive from Joshua Tree. The kitchen was spotless and well-equipped, making it easy to cook a variety of meals. It was my birthday during our stay, and they thoughtfully left me a note with a bottle of wine, which was a very kind gesture. The entire process was remote, and we didn’t interact with anyone in person, which made for a seamless experience. Despite some concerns about the area, we appreciated the hotel’s cleanliness, design, and hospitality.

Great views from my bungalow! Bed was comfy and the little knick-knacks around the room made for a warm and inviting stay. Just a quick drive from Joshua Tree National Park. Would definitely book again.

We were supposed to receive an email 4 hours prior to 3pm arrival giving us directions, the unit # and an access code to check in. No email was sent. No one was on premise. I called several times, sent an urgent text, left an urgent voice mail and sent 2 emails with zero response despite the promise of a "support team" available from 9 am to 9 pm. We waited in a Walmart parking lot for over an hour and a half past check-in time and still no response. We booked another hotel so as to not be literally stranded sleeping in our car. I want a full, prompt refund. Thank you.

Stylish, Peaceful, and Perfectly Located We loved our romantic stay at The Bungalows by Homestead Modern. The décor was chic and modern with a cool desert vibe, and everything was spotless. We enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and relaxing outdoors by the fire pit and under the stars. The location was ideal—close to Joshua Tree National Park and both downtown Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley. Staff were super responsive via text. Highly recommend for a stylish and peaceful desert getaway!

Really great stay. Very helpful staff and were able to answer all my questions prior to my stay. They accommodated my dog with a doggy bed and some poop bags. Had many comfy amenities around the room that are very useful if cooking indoors. Overall we had an amazing stay!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. Checking in was a tad difficult in that it isn’t as easy as a hotel. But, once we had a representative on the phone, they had us in the room fairly quickly. Afterwards, we decided that the solitude of not having a hotel like reception and people in and out all the time was great. The Bungalows offer a nice quiet place to enjoy the desert. It is all decorated nicely with new furnishings. We really appreciated that all the outdoor furniture had been wiped down and cleaned up so that we didn’t have to get our clothes all dusty and dirty as happens out in the desert. The restaurant was closed (I think just for the summer heated months) but we were happy to seek out restaurants in and around the area - many places just a few minutes drive away. The pool and jacuzzi are a bit of a hike away from the rooms but looked nice when we hiked around the place. This might be a negative for some but for us we just enjoy the solitude that the Bungalows offer in a great way. We will be certain to return when we are next in the Joshua Tree area.

The roooms are nicely appointed and the view we had from L3 was phenomenal. Only thing I’d say is that I wasn’t super impressed with the check in. She wasn’t too accommodating and it was the first impression. Just kind of basic and she asked if I had the e-mail instructions. It’s like well ya but isn’t that what she is there for? To help guests and especially welcome them at check in? I like feeling welcomed when I guest check in. After all, it’s a hotel, an experience you are paying for.

The bungalow is amazing. The views are incredible. The space of the bungalow is very private. Everything was super easy to work and to access. It was close to the national park just a ten minute drive. Would absolutely recommend !

We had a very quiet stay at Homestead Hotel. The hotel has a beautiful design, but the area is extremely quiet and felt somewhat unsafe at night. We didn’t feel comfortable stepping outside after dark, especially after seeing several coyotes, which increased our concern. Overall, the hotel was very clean. It’s conveniently located about a 30-minute drive from Joshua Tree. The kitchen was spotless and well-equipped, making it easy to cook a variety of meals. It was my birthday during our stay, and they thoughtfully left me a note with a bottle of wine, which was a very kind gesture. The entire process was remote, and we didn’t interact with anyone in person, which made for a seamless experience. Despite some concerns about the area, we appreciated the hotel’s cleanliness, design, and hospitality.

Highly recommended. This property is about a 6-7 min drive to Joshua Tree town local coffee shops and restaurant, and the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Drive the other direction for 8-10 mins and you find chains like Walmart, Starbucks, Marshall's, Aldi grocery store. The suite itself exceeds expectations. Modern, crisp and clean and fully equipped kitchen. The views are breathtaking-watch sunrise and sunset from your patio OR right from sitting in your living room with the coffee they give you! Thank you so much. We are fans. We recommend, want to share the great recommendation for this place and will definitely be back again.

I love this little property. It is so well done and elegant. I love a post-modern home, and this felt like a little bungalow in the desert. If you're in Joshua Tree, this is the place to stay. It's quiet, close to the main part of town, and just lovely.

Beautiful place but not great if you are on a motorbike...we turned up on a Harley-Davidson and had trouble getting to the accommodation because of the dirt road...we ended up leaving the bike parked at the guest parking and walked down to the bungalow...

If you love mid century modern like we do, you will LOVE this space! Perfectly appointed. Do make sure to request one of the units facing the back of the property for the best views. We got lucky when checking in and did not have one of those units, but we were able to switch after reaching out via text at check in (although I’m sure the unit we were originally booked would have been just as beautiful inside just not the same gorgeous dessert view). The bed was unbelievably comfortable as well. Make sure to get up and enjoy sunrise right outside on the Adirondack chairs at the back edge of the property. We had delicious cocktails and dinner at the Copper Room which is close by . Thank you for a wonderful two night stay while we were hiking at Joshua Tree! We have already recommended you to other friends!

We used this for one-night stay near Joshua Tree National Park. Excellent, spacious room with modern fittings, luxurious bed linen, towels etc. Having a tap with filtered water was a pleasant surprise. The only negative was no food options on the property.

We loved staying here! The room was wonderful and we got takeout from the cafe and ate on our patio overlooking a beautiful view with Joshua trees. The pool and hot tub were lovely and no one else was there. There are trails to walk among the Joshua trees and an ideal overlook. It’s expensive but we splurged to stay for a concert there. The amphitheater is a gorgeous place for a show. Highly recommend and hope to go back if there are special rates sometime!

The location was spectacular overlooking the desert with the mountains in the background. The room was good, the bed was comfortable and the kitchenette area worked well. We could sit at the table in the room or on the back patio with a spectacular view. We didn't realize that the Bungalows was a part of a retreat area, but being in the middle of the summer, the other facilities were not in use, such as the cafe. Many of the buildings were designed by Lloyd Wright and all of the fell into the midcentury modern mode.

Loved my stay .Place is beautiful ,clean with a great view . Fridge with water included , there are some drinks you can purchase and snacks, you can cook as well , pans,plates ,cups are so nice you might want to take them home. You can purchase these items in the gift shop. Bed was comfortable and the room stayed warm . You can walk around the property and explore , a flashlight and binoculars were provided to see all the beautiful stars and find your way back.

The property was very serene. The bungalow was also very nicely designed with a mid century modern style. Very comfortable sofa, chairs, and bed. Had our stay been longer we would have used the kitchen. The cafe was closed and we never found how to get to the pool without walking. It was 100+ degrees out and we wanted to drive to the pool but never found way. As far as asking someone for help, you have to text them as there isn’t any one on prem to ask. Aside from the lack of personnel we both felt the bungalow and property was very nice. A very peaceful inviting atmosphere with lots of outdoor areas to relax and meditate.

This property was very surprising. I booked minutes before our arrival and did not receive and review the checkin details with required documentation uploads. Once we were directed to the checkin booth and finished our arrival documentation, the rest was seamless. At first glance it appeared to be a property in disarray and repair. Overall we enjoyed our short stay. Our Unit was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The unit had most amenities we needed However NO TV. We didn't realize that until arriving. The WiFi andcthe A/C worked great... The major drawback for my wife and I was shower water pressure was extremely low and hot water for shower ran out quickly. The Retreat Center (Where The Bungalows are located) itself was mostly abandoned or appeared that way and was in need of some upkeep and repairs. We thought we entered the wrong place when we pulled in... We really wanted to swim and cool off from the 105 degree heat... Disappointed the pool needed cleaning and had algae and many bugs. We understand it's the desert but in this environment it really should have an auto skimmer running all the time a filter alone it overworked. Plus additional chlorine? Bromine? We're not sure if we would return on our next trip to Joshua Tree. It was fair... There may be other placee in the area we may want to check out...
Overall we enjoyed our short stay. Our Unit was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The unit had most amenities we needed However NO TV. We didn't realize that until arriving. The WiFi andcthe A/C worked great... The major drawback for my wife and I was shower water pressure was extremely low and hot water for shower ran out quickly. The Retreat Center (Where The Bungalows are located) itself was mostly abandoned or appeared that way and was in need of some upkeep and repairs. We loved this place. The room was clean, the staff was helpful, the AC worked well. The pool was peaceful. My now fiancé proposed to me in the park then we came back to the resort and watched the stars. We could see the Milky Way from the property. 10/10 experience
