Me and my wife had a fantastic stay at Hotel Simplon by Lago Maggiore. Very nice staff and manager at the desk; smiling and attentive. We got a great room with sea view. Impeccable cleaning! Clea pool, no hassle with getting a space. Very green and lush garden. Tranquility. Nice poolbar and serveral areas for sitting 7 reading / having a dring (upper terrace; lower teracce; pool bar area; garden etc). Fantastic hotel bar and bartender! Everything you need at breakfast. Just to know on beforehand: there is no direct lake contact from Hotel Simplon then you have to use the sister hotel Grand Hotel Dino (can be reached with the private 200 m underground tunnel between the hotels). Note that the Hotel gym is very big and well equipped but cost Euro 12 every time you visit (no problem if you know it for your travel budget). Parking was very convenient inside the hotel area but remember it will cost Euro 20 for every night you have it parked there. We loved our stay.

Very grand property and has access to sister hotel Dino, to allow use of swimming pools, kids games area, gym, both bars & live music. Add ons were a bit expensive but nonetheless we had a great stay. Sparse on power outlets in our room was the only drawback

Luxurious property if you pay the price for a room with a view of the lake and pool. Sumptuous breakfast buffet. Beautiful pool with tunnel access to an indoor pool at a neighboring hotel. Bar a bit pricey. We had lunch once but better and less expensive food in town. Short walk to town. We enjoyed a few relaxing days after traveling for two months.

It’s a big old grand hotel which has been well maintained. It is huge and links up to the neighbouring Hotel Dino via a 400m underground walkway. This is where you need to go if you want to use the gym, which is also huge and very well equipped, probably the largest hotel gym I’ve seen. Unfortunately you need to pay €12 a day to access it which is annoying when it says the hotel has a gym. Also, as is sadly becoming more common, breakfast is extra at a pricey €25 pp. Also parking is extra at €20 per day! (It should state this on the property details page when booking) So when you book a night as a couple at €200 thinking it’s a good deal for hotel, parking and gym it is actually going to cost you €282. For that reason I wouldn’t stay again (we didn’t pay for breakfast and just got yoghurt form the supermarket opposite).

L'hotel si presenta molto bene con materassi validi e buona pulizia. Munito di piscina esterna con idromassaggio. Nel mio caso le critiche vanno al bagno con alcune posizionamenti infelici ( vaso wc posto tra il fianco della vasca e il muro con poco spazio a destra e sinistra, porta rotolo carta igienica di scorta su cui ci batteva la gamba destra e il porta spazzolino del wc in fondo alla vasca a circa 2 metri dal vaso. Non mi era mai capitato, nonostante la mia età non più giovanile e quindi di aver frequentato vari hotel, di vedermi presentare nel conto ( anche se facoltativa ) una percentuale e quindi una somma quale mancia per il personale di servizio. Con mia moglie non ce lo aspettavamo. Le mance, almeno secondo noi, devono essere spontanee del cliente e non richieste dal personale nero su bianco. Ci siamo rimasti molto male!!!

Exceeded my expectations in every way. Perfect place to explore the lakes. Pool has an amazing view. Staff are helpful. Only small point is the rooms are very light as there are no blackout curtains or blinds (not sure if this is all rooms) so if you are a light sleeper it might be an issue.

Normaal verblijven we in grand hotel dino maar deze keer wouden we simplon ook eens een kans geven. Personeel is heel vriendelijk! We hebben een duplex kamer gekregen maar deze stonk door de airco. Heel muf. De airco werkte ook niet zo goed. Gelukkig was het maar voor 2 nachten dus we hebben het zo gelaten. Het zwembad is ijskoud. We zijn elke dag naar het zwembad in grand hotel dino geweest. Daar was het warmer en als gast van simplon mag je ook de zwembaden van dino gebruiken. Het ontbijt was niet zo uitgebreid als in grand hotel dino maar wel dezelfde prijs. We hadden gevraagd of we daar mochten gaan ontbijten maar dit kon niet. Ik begrijp het prijsverschil tussen beide hotels.

The hotel is superb. The location is good, you can walk to Baveno and Stresa. The whole hotel just feels very classy, the staff are extremely attentive and it's exceptionally well priced. We cant work out why it's not a 5 star hotel. We will certainly be coming back.

Das Hotelzimmer war genauso wie wir es uns vorgestellt hatten. Zum Abendessen sind wir ins Hotel Restaurant gegangen. Das war leider eine sehr große Enttäuschung- Preis / Leistung stimmen gar nicht. Tiefgefrorener Fisch für 30€, Pasta mit Tomatensauce aus der Tüte für die Kinder für 13€. Leider sehr enttäuschend
