Hotel COOP, Sofia

We returned to this hotel because we had a good experience before, but this time was disappointing. Despite choosing it specifically for its closed garage, we were told there was no space for our motorcycles — yet we later saw many empty spots. Thankfully, a kind Belgian couple shared their space with us, or we wouldn’t have known what to do. The hotel staff was unhelpful, and we were even charged 6 euros for a parking spot we shared. Sadly, this stay changed our previously positive opinion.

Great location close to restaurants, shopping, historical places, galleries. Friendly staff and they offer parking. Have stayed here before and will do so on future trips.

Very centrally located, still in a quiet neighbourhood which felt very safe. The room was impeccable, as were the facilities. Nice gym.

We had been thinking it was the Coop horel - but it's seemed to be actually the Co-Op as they had pictures of the Rochdale Pioneers from the 18th century in the bedroom corridors. Aircon in our room seemed unavailable, both us and our frields seemed to have a choice of 'heat' or 'fan' (couldn't detect a difference on any 'fan' settings) and it was too noisy to open the window - lucily it wasn't really hot while we were there. Great to have a kettle and the breakfast was a bit hit and miss (they would heat one ban-marie (eggs) but not the other one (bacon etc). Lots of amenities in the room and products (although be very careful with the shaving kit!). Shower pressure was fabulous. Good location near the cathederal and mini market accross the road is well stocked. Bed was comfy and we were given another pillow (one in the cupobard had no pillowcase). Strange not to have a bar but you in the heart of a capital city so it was not an issue. Overall would probably stay again. Pictures (which confusted our friends in a different hotel) show a monerlithic modern glass fronted hotel - bit it's actually the 6 story period building in the foreground and the big building maybe offices etc.

Had a great stay. Very nice and clean hotel. Breakfast was delicious and bus stop right infront of hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Great Hotel, not perfectly central, but still ok locationwise. Very professional staff. Breakfast and wellness were included for me.

First the positives: The COOP hotel is in a fantastic location in the heart of Sofia. Everything was walkable. The breakfast buffet was nice and offered a lot of selection. We had complementary small bottles of water in our room daily. The room is spacious and well laid out. The hotel felt safe and the area around the hotel also felt safe. The hotel has a fantastic sauna and locker facilities. (Seriously - book the sauna if you stay here!) Then the negatives: I tried to reach out to the hotel before my stay to arrange taxi service from the train station. They never replied. Nor did they apologize for failing to reply. The room temperature averaged 27 degrees. I called the front desk due to the discomfortable heat in the room. Twice they told me they would turn on the AC to cool the room, the third time they told me that all they have it heat and the fourth time they told me that there was nothing they could do. With my window wide open the room cooled, but then I couldn't sleep from the noise of traffic. Speaking of sleep, the bed was terribly uncomfortable and the bedding was scratchy. Between the heat, the hard mattress and the scratchy bedding, I could not sleep well. The room had a deep soaking tub and a shower head in the tub. There was no curtain and just a small glass wall near the shower head. The shower was powerful. So powerful that whenever we took showers we had lakes all over the bathroom floor. The small glass wall was too small and insufficient.

Dårlig aircondition, måtte bytte rom på grunn av dette. Men ikke bedre på rom nr 2. mangelfullt renhold på rom….

La posizione dell'hotel è davvero ottima per raggiungere il centro. Il primo giorno purtroppo non ci è stata pulita la stanza, per il resto il personale è davvero preparato e disponibile. L'unica pecca è la colazione che è davvero mediocre.

El hotel está ESPANTOSO, descuidado y súper sucio, en el área del Restaurant los manteles manchados de hace tiempo se ve que no lavan nada ni cambian blancos, los garrafones donde ponen jugos, no los lavan, solo los rellenan de un día a otro, etc. así como en el área de la fruta hay mil moronas de pan, de verdad muuuuy mal. Las camas de los cuartos una tabla, la housekeeping hacia el cuarto al aventón, no te ponía los amenities que ya habías usado, muy mal. El servicio de recepción FATAL!!! A todo te decían que sí y no lo hacían, se iba pasando el problema para el día siguiente xq cuando reclamabas a todo era un NO se puede . De verdad no deberían de poner 4 estrellas a ese hotel!! ESTÁ SUCIO, SIN MANTEMIENTO, el desayuno está muy malo, es más, hasta el personal del lobby se ve desalineado. Los uniformes como que no les quedan y eso da muy mala imagen. La verdad TODO MAL!!! No volvería a quedarme ahí NUNCA !! Arreglen ese hotel , sugiero que en la plataforma le bajen de calificación.

The curtain is hanging sloppily and the carpet needs a dry cleaning.

EL SERVICIO DEL LOBBY FATAL Y LA HOUSEKEEPING HACE EL TRABAJO MUY A MEDIAS, NI LAS ALMOHADAS LAS DEJA ACOMODADAS!!! UNA EXPERIENCIA DEPLORABLE!! NO VOLVERÍA JAMÁS!!!! LAS FOTOS UNA MENTIRA!

A very clean, nice and well kept hotel in centre of Sofia. Marya, the receptionist, went above and beyond to ensure we have a confortable stay

Hotel très bien situé. Le personnel est charmant. La découverte fut le restaurant du même nom accolé à l'hôtel. La suite junior est tres spacieuse.

Clean wide spaces in the room scarcely decorated but good for sleeping A/C individually controlled and working perfectly ( thermostat) which nowadays is a real luxe…

The air conditioning was not very good. It was too hot. They did not need to change towels every day, we think. Apart from that, it was really good!

Reasonably nice amenities and the rooms and common areas are well appointed. Included breakfast was tasty and adequate, but nothing too special. Strictly self- Service. No air conditioning, so slep with window open. As my room face the road, I had to wear earplugs. I might have well slept on a stone slab. Absolutely no cushion to the mattress. And, pillows were small and lumpy. Not bad for the price, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

This was an absolutely wonderful hotel and the staff was super friendly and helpful! It is very close to most of the historical sites- within a 10 minute walk. Highly recommend!!

Buen hotel y bien situado para hacer todo a pie. Esta a 5 minutos de la opera, la catedral Nevsky, la iglesia de santa Maria, la iglesia rusa, museo de la casa del agua y la mezquita y a unos 18 minutos de Vitosha. Todo muy bien. Solo un dia no nos hicieron la habitacion por error. Como mejora diria que tengan presente que cada dia hay mas gente con intolerancias y solo tenian leche de vaca. Lo hablamos con ellos y a la mañana siguiente teniamos leche de almendras. Nos ayudaros con una reserva y nos imprimieron unos tickets que necesitabamos. La habitacion muy bonita, el baño muy amplio y super bien equipado. Ponen zapatillas y albornoz

Albergo sito a pochi passi dalla cattedrale di Sofia. Dall’albergo sono raggiungibili a piedi tutti i siti più importanti. Camera confortevole, colazione ottima e abbondante, prezzo onesto. Consigliato

Hotel situato in prossimità della cattedrale a Sofia. Personale gentile e accogliente, camera confortevole, colazione nella media locale, complessivamente molto buono.

The hotel is nicely equipped with all amenities you can want, the area is awful.

Lovely building ,very quiet we had a junior suite which was very spacious and cleaned every day We really enjoyed our stay the location was great for exploring Sofia Only downside was one day the breakfast was cold and we had sour milk but they rectified this very quickly
