Tout était vraiment magnifique !!! La situation géographique, le cadre, l’accueil, la gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel, les prestations : petit déjeuner, goûter, dîner…. Tout est fait pour qu’on s’y sente bien !!! Un tout petit bémol concernant l’accessibilité offerte du sauna limitée à 1h le matin (8h30-9h30) et seulement le week-end mais cela vaut le coup ! Douches, serviettes et sèche cheveux à disposition avec produits Rituals; un bon moment de détente. À faire sans hésitation ! Nous garderons un beau souvenir de ce week-end à Helsinki

Nice and interesting since it’s an old jail. Situated a bit out on Katajanokka, tram just outside or a 10 min walk to downtown. Sauna is only on weekends. Breakfast was good but in the rather dark basement. Not so much nice lobby-areas. The charged price didn’t meet expectations, should be a 40EUR less per night according to the standard offered.

They have a problem with little or no air conditioning in the rooms and you cannot open the windows. Also, the refrigerator was non-functioning. Also, parking requires a permit from the city and the hotel does not tell you that. Found that out the hard way with a ticket on the windshield.

The food was absolutely wonderful. We loved breakfast and also enjoyed dinner. The staff were helpful and accommodating. We worked out in the gym and it was a good experience. This hotel is really outstanding and we will never forget the Katajanokka. My husband absolutely loved the history of this hotel.

Hotel muy bien situado y cómodo, con una parada de tranvía justo en la puerta. Las habitaciones no son muy grandes, pero resultan confortables y bien equipadas. El desayuno es correcto y suficiente para empezar bien el día. El personal destaca por su amabilidad y disposición. El parking cuesta 21€ al día. Un punto muy positivo es que incluyen la cena y la “fika” (merienda): ideal si viajas con presupuesto ajustado. Siempre ofrecen una sopa caliente, ensalada y algún plato de carne, lo cual se agradece después de un día fuera. Las puertas de las habitaciones son muy pequeñas, pero como son celdas reformadas, quedan bien.

Hotellet var fint med fin frokostrestaurant og god mat. Fine rom MEN sov svært dårlig pga at vi ikke kunne åpne vinduene og det var for varmt og innestengt, fuktig luft. Vi kunne få daglig renhold noe vi ønsket oss men ikke fikk.

Excelente localização. Bom pequeno almoço e o facto de servirem uma refeição light até às 20h incluída no preço do alojamento é excelente. Tivemos uma situação muito aborrecida quando nos preparávamos para deitar na nossa primeira noite. Um dos lados da cama tinha o lençol de baixo sujo com fezes. Tivemos de solicitar uma mudança de roupa aquela hora da noite ( 23h), o que nos deixou completamente desiludidos e aborrecidos com a limpeza e fiscalização da limpeza dos quartos . Nunca nos tinha acontecido algo semelhante em nenhum outro hotel. À exceto este desagradável acontecimento, tudo o resto é bastante bom.

La struttura nel suo insieme è mediamente ben tenuta. Colazione pessima senza possibilità di prendere un espresso o un cappuccino. Pulizie limitate al Check in e al Check out, frigo vuoto, no servizio in camera. Inoltre nel mobile bar ci sono bicchieri in vetro che loro non lavano. What a wonderful three nights we had at this fabulous hotel in the beautiful city of Helsinki. The conversion of this former gaol into a hotel has been creative and innovative.The location is convenient to the tram, waterfront and local restaurants. Our room was large, incredibly quiet and super comfortable. The inclusion in the tariff of breakfast, afternoon tea and the evening meal made it excellent value for money and added to the “ homely” environment they have successfully created. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Es ist ein spezielles Gefühl, in einem ehemaligen Gefängnis zu übernachten. Das Hotel ist geschmackvoll gestaltet, das Gefängnis noch gut ersichtlich. Der einzige Nachteil war, dass wir die Fenster nicht öffnen konnten und somit auch kein Lüften möglich war. Die Lage ist super, die Innenstadt ist zu Fuss erreichbar. Das Auto kann für € 21 pro Tag direkt vor dem Haus geparkt werden. Die Auswahl und die Qualität des Frühstücks waren sehr gut.

The hotel would be amazing if it was so hot in Helsinki this week. I reserved a superior double with a king bed. It was a large, beautifully decorated room that was hot and humid. Ugh! I never checked if it had air-conditioning. I know that they don't need it most of the year, but even with the fan I got from the front desk, it was terribly hot. The windows don't open. It was hard to sleep if you are sweaty. Other than that, everything else waa great. Breakfast was excellent and dinner was a great savings for the long vacation we were on. There is a tram right outside to take you wherever you wanted to go. I would stay her again at a cooler time of year.

Excellent location in a nice neighborhood with tram access right outside the door, but also walkable to central Helsinki. Room was spacious and bed was fantastic! Bathroom well-lit and spacious as well. Breakfast had fairly limited choices and was quite repetitive. Dining area is very dark and not super comfortable. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Good value and perfect location.

The hotel is located in Katajanokka ,a great part of Helsinki. The tram is outside the hotel wall. Short walk to the harbor and cruise ship The Viking Line. The hotel itself is a historical site . A refurbished prison . It was our first time staying there but we have family who stayed there few times few years ago. It has claustrophobic feel at the small lobby and in the guest rooms because the windows are high and small can’t be reached or opened. Our room had a very small low window. The breakfast and dinner area was extremely dark . Literally being in a prison.

Allt var bra, bortsett från att vi råkade bli inlåsta i bagageutrymmet på hotellet. När vi skulle ställa in vårt bagage gick dörren i baklås. Jag försökte ringa receptionisten, men hon var upptagen i telefon , så det tog lite tid innan vi blev hjälpta ut. Efter ca 10 min:s letande efter rätt telnr och ringande, kom receptionisten och hjälpte oss ut. Hon var mycket vänlig. Men jag rekommenderar er att se över låset, så att man kan låsa upp inifrån. + ev. installera larm med knapp att trycka på från insidan. För övrigt var allt bra, mycket bra frukost, mycket vänlig o serviceminded personal, både på hotell- och restaurangdelen. Rummet var rent och fräscht.

The Dinner 👎 Not Good Breakfast OK but in the basement , very dark . It was a prison but Not anymorr …. I won‘t Côme back . I réservé à room for 2 Nights next Doors for half the price . Far too expensive . I also ask for hangers for our close , I still wait for the answer. 5 hangers for 2 peoples

Due to a change in flights, we arrived super late (11pm) and had a short turn-around leaving at 4am the following morning. We didn't get to enjoy the property as intended, but the overnight desk staff person packed up a special breakfast brown bag to go for us - so thoughtful and the attention to detail and customer service that we seek when we choose accommodations!

Property is amazing. Unique and historical history. Beautiful room and so quiet! Full breakfast buffet, afternoon snack and hot dinner were included with my booking. We only ate breakfast, but it was excellent. Staff is great too. Friendly and helpful. I'd love to stay here again in the future.

A great location for anybody visiting the city as a tourist. The tram stop at the entrance brings you to the centre (but it's a easy 10 min walk) and also will bring you to the ferry terminal, the main train station to change for the airport. Staff were friendly, room was very comfortable, high quality linens and bed, very quiet at night (built in soundproofing due to being an old building). Breakfast and dinner was included and it was great and good value too. Would certainly stay again.

I had a very comfortable stay. If I ever visit Helsinki again, I would definitely stay here. (Good) The hotel staffs were extremely courteous and attentive from check-in through check-out. This hotel includes complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea starting at 3 PM, and dinner. Considering the cost of meals in Finland, this is a huge plus. Although my hotel checkout was early in the morning before breakfast began, they kindly provided a simple takeout breakfast at no charge. The hotel's interior was beautiful. It's also fascinating that some sections, tucked away in less noticeable areas, still retain original prison cells. The tram station was nearby, making it convenient to get into the city center. (Bad) The meal menu was basically the same every day (with some variations), so I got a little bored. Since it's free, I can't complain, and they don't need to change everything daily, but I think it would be better if they varied the menu options a bit more.

Room was very comfortable and homely. Breakfast excellent with wide choice of food. We didn’t enjoy the dinner as much, as only one option for a main course, which was average. Salads and sides were average too. However due to the good value, the dinner was still a nice thing to be offered. All in all, treated as excellent, as all the other aspects made up for an average dinner.

The location was on an island and only a 20 minute walk to the city center. Great location, however, the room was very hot and we were not allowed to open the windows. Breakfast, a light snack between 3-5 pm is served, plus dinner is included. That is served between 6-8 every night. The breakfast was the best part.
