This was one of the finest Super 8 motels I’ve ever stayed at. This is a very clean motel from entrance, hallway and room. About the only thing that could use a little update would be the bathroom - a freshening of the fixtures and the rating goes up. While I needed to leave by 5 am, there was a juice and coffee machine in the lobby ( no coffee machine in the room)! Simple and comfortable - that’s what I needed and that’s what was received.

This was a nice room but due to the owners renting to family etc it only left 1 king handicapped room on the lower level and my 82 year old father had to climb the stairs to get to his room and he is not very steady. We anticipated 2 rooms on the main level and there were very few people staying there.

No parking anywhere. There are people hanging out and smoking in the unlit parking lot and the area doesn’t feel safe at all!! Not staying here!!

When we pulled up there were no cars in the parking lot and the entrance looked run down. We thought perhaps it had closed down or something. We were very leary of entering. That being said, it was very clean and well-kept on the inside. The only suggestions inside would be to keep the lobby well lit. It was dark and kind of sad. The community areas were also warm as if no AC was on.

Run, don't walk. I have no idea how everyone else is giving this 5 stars. Maybe your given room was better? But it's in a questionable neighborhood. It looks like it is charged by the hour, and not nightly. I was charged over $120+. The smell takes you back when you walk into lobby. The room wreaked of cigarettes. It was suppose to be non smoking. The bathroom looked like from the 1970's and not the good kind. The carpet was old, dirty, and stained. The photos make it look bright and new. I hurried to see under sheets, to look for bugs. I did see small blood stains on sheets. I went to wash my hands to leave, and no soap. The owner would not give us another room. So I said I wouldn't stay there. I was questioning if another room would even be better. I have yet to receive refund. I only was in room for less then a minute. If you're a smoker, and don't care about where you sleep, and low standards of living: This is for you.

It was extremely old. The room smelled of smoke probably from the old ugly green carpet. The bathroom had very old fixtures, toilet didn’t flush well, sink was very slow to drain and the light switch was on the outside of the bathroom and didn’t always work. I was very unhappy about staying there, but had no choice since I prepaid and there were no other hotels with vacancies. For three nights two men parked in one of five spots drinking, smoking and talking all night. We did not feel safe.

The staff person was very hard to understand. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV. We asked the staff person and he couldn't do it either. He then called some man on his phone to help. By then I had accidently found the channel we needed. There should have been an instruction sheet by the remote on how to use it. Disappointed.

If I was staying longer, or doing more at the hotel, I might be more critical of things. The staff I spoke to were all super nice and helpful. Bonus points to them for that. I would've liked a real breakfast instead of cereal bars and coffee/juice, but they pointed me to a restaurant nearby where I could get good food cheap. If I need a hotel in Berlin again, It will definitely be here. complete opposite of our stay at another Super 8 in Hampshire IL 3 weeks prior

Ken the manager was very friendly and helpful. The room and beds were clean and comfortable. We were allowed to plug in our Tesla to a 110 outlet outside which was very helpful. It would have been helpful to have directions for the TV. Neither remote gave us a signal. It would also be nice to have some protein for breakfast such as hard boiled eggs. I would stay there again!

Could not find any staff to check in but I understand the shortage of staff these days. The attendant was out and about cleaning rooms. Room was clean and simple and inexpensive. Meet our needs on short notice. Heard there were new owners and much approved.

Will never recommend anyone to stay there they wouldnt let us keep our reservation for 6/8 due to there being 5 of us and the reservation only showed two when they just let all of us stay the night before. Not very friendly or family oriented or even understanding of situations

The hotel it’s fine. The rooms good. But breakfast was one of the reason for me to rent there and what they offer it’s not really a breakfast but kind of snack and very very poor. They shouldn’t say they include breakfast.
