Generally liked the experience and the facility. The employee at the desk with whom I also spoke on the phone a few times was excellent and provided great service. Two minor issues: a sign saying park here and enter here would be helpful - we went around the whole building. We saw only signed saying reserved for the restaurant etc so that added time to checking in. We also had someone walking around in the room above us (we were in 115) from 11 pm to maybe 12:30 am. It woke me up a few times. I hear someone walking around there now during the day--there is so much walking there maybe it is the lobby or an employee service area and maybe there should not be a hotel room under it.

This was a great find. A skillfully and beautifully converted old mill. Just modern enough, just enough old mill. Bedding, towels and bath amenities were excellent. TV has cable and smart functions, easy to cast from your devices. On site dining was also very good in a connected 2nd mill building that was also a nice rehab. I wish we could have gotten a king room but apparently they were unavailable. The river dam behind the building seemed a bit noisy but it was actually soothing and relaxing. Not sure what the other Common Man properties are like but Claremont is top notch. If I had to complain about anything it would be the short walk to the parking garage. It snowed overnight and it was a messy walk.

This is a fantastic place to stay, beating out the other 5 hotels we stayed in during this trip. The transformation from run-down mill slum to this peaceful, comfy inn is remarkable. (I delivered newspapers on this street in my youth, and it was a depressing, horrible place.) The location is fantastic, with easy walks for exercise or to see the town, and parking is no problem. The morning breakfast offerings have a little something for everyone. The exercise room is one of the best we've used at a hotel, especially for one of this size. The lobby area has books, puzzles, comfy seating, and the historic photos and decor were upscale. Clare, the inn cat, visited us and made it feel very homey.

My family and I stay here whenever visiting my inlaws. It is a reliable Inn. Always a fun and relaxing experience. There is a small workout room. Used the hot tub for the first time which was clean with some music piped in which you could choose to have turned off. There is a free breakfast of muffins, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, coffee, etc. The Inn has a cat that lives there. I am allergic to cats but the inn is kept clean so I am never bothered by her presence and she is sweet.

We didn't stay long, but I always stay here when I'm in Claremont. This is a lovely spot, with a great restaurant and hot tub. The only drawback is the lack of parking close-by (the garage is 2 blocks away and up-hill, and my partner is handicapped) - there is limited parking behind the building, but that requires stairs. They have offered to allow us to park out front in the past, so if you have a wheelchair, you can ask. For this trip, we gave my car to my son and had him pick us up the next day. The rooms are cozy and warm. They are tastefully decorated with soft, quality linens and vintage furniture that "fits" the room. I just love this place. Choose it!

We had an awesome stay at The Comman Man Inn in Claremont, NH. The staff were wonderful, the room was clean. We loved the historic charm and the historic photos hanging in the hallways. We will be staying again on our next trip to the area.

The property is an old mill building with brick walls and hardwood floors. It's absolutely adorable. The room was large and clean, with a view of the Sugar River. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's even an inn cat that you can invite into your room if you want. I didn't make it to breakfast, but a colleague who was also staying there said it was wonderful. The inn was within walking distance to my meeting, and several shops and restaurants. I'm planning to visit the area again just so I can stay at the inn.

We stayed for one night and were very pleased with the cleanliness of the whole place as well as the large size of the room. The water pressure was great and the bed was nice and comfortable (firm). The aesthetic was nice and I liked the chairs in the common area...the puzzle is a nice touch. We were also pleased to encounter the Inn cat.

Fantastic example of northern New England hospitality. Classic mill conversion, well done, with higher class suites available. Stayed in the bridge suite and enjoyed the views. Wish we stayed longer, will definitely be back.

We stayed in the Stone Suite which was lovely. We especially liked the old foundation stones and bedrock that were preserved in the lower bedroom and bathroom walls. The view of the mill falls through the windows was beautiful and reminded one why the old mill was built on the river. The lobby was warm and inviting and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay! Very nice, historic mill building renovated into this hotel with great attention to detail. The views in the Sugar River Suite were outstanding and listening to the waterfalls outside the window was very soothing. Great staff at the front desk, complimentary hot apple cider upon arriving, great amenities, everything could want. It served as a base of operation to explore Western NH and Eastern VT and couldn't have been a better location for the two.

The hotel was clean the service was friendly. The TV was impossible to navigate. Never had such a difficult system to use at a hotel. Uhg. And I love TV and work in technology. Need instructions in the room. The walls were super thin and got to listen to the folks next door fight. Not sure why I was charged almost $19 for my room to be cleaned when we did not have it cleaned during my stay. We went to dinner at the restaurant and had a great meal and great service.

The Common Man is a lovely place to stay! The front desk was excellent and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Catherine was amazing and ensured we had everything we needed! The king room with the river view is spacious and has a beautiful view of the river. The restaurant had great service and the food was excellent! We loved the pub area where they have games available to play while you have a drink. Overall, great stay- we will be back!

We stay at Common Man about once a year. We love the large rooms and the quality of the linens. It is up in a safe area of town with its own restaurant and other restaurants within walking distance. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Love the Common Man Inn!

Staff member who greeted us is just outstanding! What a knowledgeable and agreeable soul she is- such a welcome presence for the weary traveler. Room was beautiful and quiet and clean and comfortable. TV was difficult to use and we almost gave up but lobby staff was wonderful

Delightful stay, room was very nice, location is very pleasant, both given proximity to river and to the downtown. Breakfast had many options. Coffee was just a Keurig Machine, could perhaps be a bit more exciting. The Common Man Restaurant nearby was close, but waited about one hour and fifteen minutes after ordering for food to arrive, which was not ideal

The breakfast was better than we expected. We were expecting a standard continental breakfast. They had French toast and real bakery style baels. Prewrapped store bought breakfast sandwiches (just OK). The staff and prperty were awesome. The restaurant very good. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that the restaurant was closed on the two days we were there. This was one of the reasons we stayed there. We did not know about this until we checked in. Everything else was excellent! We would definitely go back but not on Tuesday or Wednesday.
