Centauro Hotel

Very user friendly - easy walk there from the Rialto stop on the airport bus and very convenient to walk to see everything of interest. Breakfast room is lovely. Would gladly stay there again. One caveat is that there is no elevator and no rooms on the ground floor.

Pros: in San Marco, close to St Marks Square as well as many shopping and dining options. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included with several food options. Coffee was excellent. Rooms are comfortable and have great AC. We were able to store our luggage there before check in. We felt very safe. Cons: no elevator and lots of stairs. Many hotels in Venice don’t have elevators, so would make that and criteria for future travel there. Although rooms are comfortable, they are small.

This was a great hotel for the following reasons: 1) Location. It is located a few minutes' walk from the Rialto Bridge, so it is easy access to the Rialto Bridge, Aliaguna motorboat stop, restaurants, etc. Once you exit at the Rialto motorboat stop, find your way to Campo Manin area with the statute of Daniel Manin with a lion, and on side of the square with the kebab and gelato store you will see a small alley where you will find the Hotel Centauro; 2) The hotel is quiet and clean, and the rooms are decorated as described on the website. I had hope to get a room with a canal view, but they were all sold out. However, I did have a spacious room with a balcony with lovely flowers, a table and chairs to sit outside. I did not see an elevator in the hotel, so if this is a concern, please inquire before you book; 3) The hotel's breakfast was great. A very nice selection of pastries, cakes, hard-boiled eggs, cold meats and cheese, bread, cereal, and a nice selection of tea, coffee, or you can request a cappuccino. The breakfast room is on the first floor of the hotel, and you can step out on its balcony to get a nice view of the canal and buildings surrounding the hotel; and 4) The staff is friendly and helpful. They were patient with my limited Italian, helped with directions, and allowed me to borrow an adapter when my universal adapter did not have the correct connection. The front desk is manned 24-hours which is very helpful. Overall, a great hotel.

Location is good but there is no lift so need to walk up to rooms. Luckily staff were very nice and they helped with the luggage. Thank you

Great location to explore Venice. I would stay again but be informed that the shower is quite small, even by European standards, and there is no lift. So access is a consideration. The breakfast provided was delicious and in a beautiful room with a nice view.

Cute little hotel. It’s down a dark street… But I soon learned that is most of Venice. Front desk people were friendly. Room is small but has a large balcony. No lights on the balcony so it’s pretty dark at night. Comes with large towels and toiletries for the bathroom. Shower is tiny, so if you are need extra room this is not for you. I could not get the safe to work and it looked like someone had tried to pull it out previously. Our room was on the 3rd floor, so there’s lots of steps and you’re in charge of your own bags. No elevators. It was a nice stay and reasonably priced. Close to the waterbus and St. Marks.

Be careful, all 3 stars hotels in Venice don’t have elevator.

It took us a little while to find the property on our Google maps, but that is Venice. Be prepared to get lost. The property was clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful . It still has its true charm from 1904. There is not an elevator and our room was on the third floor , alot of stairs climb. That was not a problem for us, but it could be for someone with mobility issues. The breakfast was fantastic. It had bread, meat, cheese, juice, coffee, cereal, yoghurt everything you could want for breakfast. If we ever return to Venice, we would stay there again.

Dirty toilet, dirty room. Really small bathroom, I am thin, but could barely fit in front of the sink. Really friendly and helpful staff, but dirty walls and a lot of dust.

We loved our stat at Hotel Centauro. We were on the third floor and could see a canal ftom our windows. The staff at reception and breakfast were lovely. Location is great. Rooms cleaned daily. Great hotel.

Bed bugs

The terrace off of the room was nice. Terrible beds and spiderwebs in room. Morning clerk when checking out tried to get us to walk to bank and pay with cash. Even offered 90 euro off of the bill if we paid with cash. When i gave my American express to pay, he said they don't except this card, even tho i booked with this card. Very rude person. I would not stay here again. Left property covered in bug bites.

Rooms were very clean. In walking distance to Marks Square. Showers and bathroom was small but manageable.

This hotel had bed bugs. Woke up bitten & don’t recommend. The front desk was rude overall. Stay somewhere else.

Very nice large clean room, all of staff very polite and friendly, breakfast just enough to start of the day. Just perfect for 2-3 nights.

There were bugs in the bed, the room was small. The breakfast was good, but cleaniless wasnt great and we struggled with cold water in the shower. Also, the internet kept cutting off.

The room is very small. Its height is spacious than its width. Breakfast is good. I liked the way they conserve energy fot the sake of the environment. Staff is friendly and good.

We LOVED our time at hotel centauro and wished we could have stayed longer!! We had the BEST room overlooking the canal with little balconies. It was lovely!!

The rooms are small and inconvenient, as can be expected in Venice. Do not spend extra money on room upgrades as the terrace rooms have no view. The breakfast was abysmal and there's no coffee in the rooms, only tea.

Hotel Centauro is tucked away between Rialto and Piazza San Marco. The staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms are nice and have high ceilings. The walls are pretty thin though I wasn’t disturbed at odd hours. I would stay here again.

Great location. Quaint building. Strong breakfast selection. Room was very small with no bells and whistles. Shower was too small for us to enjoy. But it was quiet and friendly.

I loved the old, historic type of building and tastefully decorated rooms. The breakfast was wonderful, and glad to have it there. Staff was always helpful and smiling, and took our bags for us up the 5 flights of stairs. There is no elevator, so if you get one of the rooms up top, be in shape! One other note, our room was small but that was okay. The shower was only 25" x 25", so any large person (or man) may want to ask for a larger room/ shower. We could not lean over to shave our legs. Always a funny story tell, but besides that it was great!

Extremely helpful staff who answered every question, gave us good advice on places to visit, printed out tickets and boarding passes for us, and were in general just very nice. Also loved the location and the buffet brunch. Definitely recommended!!

I was on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. I was in a walking caste and staff did not even ask to assist me.

The hotel is very quaint and has been a hotel since the 16th century. Easy access from the water bus, close to restaurants and many places of interest. Alessandro was at the desk upon our arrival, he was so nice and very efficient. When I asked for extra pillows, he was at our room within a few minutes and brought them himself. Great breakfast and very nice staff.

Great centrally located hotel. Walking distance to many scenic points and shopping. It is not on a canal, but it's close to Rialto Bridge.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, very near to several attractions, as well as an easy walk from parking/ train station. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, but it was wonky (the whole hotel leans a little - not a problem, but just quirky). We were on the third floor with a great canal view, but there is no elevator so three flights of stairs with a heavy case could potentially be an issue for some. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was Lovely. We would definitely stay again.

Hotel proche de tout , de le place St Marc et du Rialto

The hotel was comfortable, with very good AC and good amenities. The breakfast was excellent. I didn't like the signage for the hotel. It was very difficult to find. It took us 1 hour to locate it. It is located in a very small alley with no clear signage. Also, the staff at the hotel could have informed us that we could have taken a water taxi from the airport directly to the Rialto Bridge stop for $ 17 instead of offering us transportation for $ 180.

The hotel is conveniently located to St Mark’s Square and surrounded by good restaurants.

My first quiet night in Italy! I slept the whole night! I enjoyed the pour your own cappuccinos at the breakfast buffet.

I wanted to treat ourselves so we splurged on our hotel. It was a little run down compared to their pictures. The breakfast was AMAZING and the fresh coffee and croissants are top notch.
