Hotel and staff were good, breakfast was fine. Parked undercover and it rained discovered car was covered with rust particles from the parking roof. This was reported to the staff and the hotel who said it would be reported to Management.

The Strata is conveniently located close to the 401 but a few minutes drive to downtown/attractions. It's located in a strip mall on a busy street (Princess) but the street noise wasn't an issue for us or disrupted sleep. It has a lovely, modern bright lobby and the check-in was quick and easy. Room size was very generous, it was very clean, beds were comfortable and looked like the facilities had been recently modernized. We can't speak about breakfast, as we didn't eat there and had to get on the road. Breakfast is not included in room price, but I can't complain as we felt the room price was very reasonable for the quality of the room, building. Staff was friendly and no trouble getting parking in the lot in front of the building.

This hotel is a bit “lipstick on a pig”. It’s nice enough, but the cleanliness in the room was lacking, the “blackout curtains” are not blackout (room darkening at best) pillows were horrible (hard and lumpy) and the underground parking area was sketchy. Pictures look like it’s a higher end hotel, but it’s not run like one.

Beds and bathrrom were not clean and despite attempting to resolve the situation by requesting clean bedding and making the beds myself, it was still not sorted out properly. Hotel is also not as shown in the pictues and is actually above a strip mall. Disappointing to say the least.

Mold in bathroom all over even on the shower top wall...all over the shower fawcett and around glass door.... no soap in shower bottles were empty... told staff about mold all I got was sorry and was given an email to complain and send my pictures... nobody contacted me at all after 2 emails and a callback request

The bed was not properly made and looked as if someone had already slept in it. We went to the front desk and showed them pictures. Without hesitation, the clerk gave us a different room. However, the bed in the second room was essentially the same, which suggests that the staff who make the beds do not know how to do it properly.

Beds creaked. Towels were low quality, stained, passed their useful life, and barely big enough to wrap around an average human body. Swarms of small flies all around entrance way and in common areas. Peculiar smell in hallways and rooms. Previous guests hairs were left in shower and on shampoo bottles. No pride is taken in the upkeep and maintenance of this property.

This property is bare bones. They didnt have one picture on a wall, they are going for the bare minimum look, which i initially thought was for a crisp, clean look, but then it felt more like a prison. Very bland. The maid service was terrible. They left used plastic cups, and didnt replace. They didnt make the beds. They left towels folded on the counter. There were hairs from previous guests in the shower. They were very bare minimum when they did come to do the work. That being said, the front desk staff was awesome. They were all friendly and accomodating. The night manager was super helpful when we realized there was no tv or cable, and we could only watch from a device. He came to the room to help, and it took him almost an hour of IT work and calling Chromecast to amke it happen, so we appreciated that otherise we wouldnt have had anything to watch. (there is nothing on the TV. make sure you have netflix or paramount or something if you want to watch anything in the room - they arent smart tvs. You cant sign in to them.)

This hotel is very comfortable, and a great price compared to competitor hotels in Kingston. I wanted something with a very comfortable bed that was recently renovated, and the Strata delivered. Even the standard rooms are large, with comfortable beds, with a fridge and microwave. Bathrooms were huge, and incuded a double sink and full-sized bathtub with good-quality shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner in large pump containers. Easy parking, friendly staff. Whenever I'm back to visit Kingston, this hotel will be my first choice!

Staff did not want to help. I said we had a gross dirty towel hanging in our room they did nothing. Gave me an email address to send to with picture have heard nothing and they never removed towel. Booking with a third party said they could not help me. Not allowed to sit in lobby and chat if your in a group. Front door broken could not use key had to wait for front desk to let you in and that took a while as never at desk.

The lobby is quite nice. It has been recently renovated however very cheaply so still feels very run down in the hallways, stairs, elevators and rooms. Staff not very knowledgeable and always abdicate responsibility to someone else. No one can ever solve a challenge as it is someone else's job. Yet after 3 days, never found that person who was able to help.

It is appalling that they charge $450 a night because it's the "Queen's University's Homecoming". It is far from the downtown, it's cheap and the area is awful. With the right price it would be good, but not at that price. Shame on this hotel to charge so much money! Will never go again.

Be aware a way from downtown but we caught a bus which was easy to save driving. Nice pub restaurant 2 minute walk Toms place

The Strata is conveniently located close to the 401 but a few minutes drive to downtown/attractions. It's located in a strip mall on a busy street (Princess) but the street noise wasn't an issue for us or disrupted sleep. It has a lovely, modern bright lobby and the check-in was quick and easy. Room size was very generous, it was very clean, beds were comfortable and looked like the facilities had been recently modernized. We can't speak about breakfast, as we didn't eat there and had to get on the road. Breakfast is not included in room price, but I can't complain as we felt the room price was very reasonable for the quality of the room, building. Staff was friendly and no trouble getting parking in the lot in front of the building.

I liked the floors in the rooms & no carpet. Much cleaner. The TV had decent channels that I didn’t have to subscribe to in order to watch something. Great location for us to get to places easily. Food, laundromat close by, a movie theater & shopping. Very friendly, helpful staff! 🤗

The room was somewhat narrow but clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast is not included , but the hotel offers drinks and ready made foods at prices above average. We had breakfast out. Overall a convenient good stay.

The hotel is clean and the room is spacious. I like its brightness and light color in design. I recommend it for family trip or casual road trip. Breakfast isn’t worth the price we paid. The coffee is made from coffee maker, the same as the free one you could get in the room, but it is charged at the coffee shop’s price. The sandwich and wrap were heated from frozen items. I don’t recommend the breakfast in the hotel, however the dining area is great

The hotel is above a commercial plaza, parking is plentiful and free! it is well kept, clean and comfortable. One thing we loved was that the in room fridge was COLD when we got there. In hotels, often i find that the fridge needs time after checking in to cool down to fridge temp. My only negative was that the king size bed seemed old. it was comfy, but sunk in the middle. Both of us ended up in the middle of the bed through the night.

Stayed for one night in a king room, rating 4/5 as there were minor details preventing it from being a true 5/5 stay. Entrance to hotel is to the far left of the plaza parking lot under the strata arch - parking is anywhere out front or in their underground that is being renovated. Lobby is well decorated and there is a bar to the left of the lobby. Room on 2nd floor so took elevator/stairs throughout stay. Room was clean, furniture showing minor wear and tear but can tell renovation happened recently as the sprinkler head wasn’t flushed with ceiling. King room layout looks like furniture should be shifted more centre or a couch included as there was a weird emptiness between bed and window. Bed was comfy, pillows were ok, nespresso coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge included. Would be nice if there was a bottle of water provided for guests for coffee maker in fridge. Bathroom has all the necessary toiletries provided. Tub is a HIGH step in, recommending they get rubber slip mats for guests; and be VERY careful getting out as tile floor is slippery if wet and you step off the towel mat. Water pressure is poor though. Overall don’t judge the hotel by the exterior and will stay again for the price point compared to downtown hotels as simple enough to call an uber and travel 10mins to confederation park area and save $50/night
