Days Inn by Wyndham Walcott Davenport

The property is very out dated and lacks amenities. It shows an indoor pool which has never been open in the last two years our stays. The vending machines were empty on one end and the other end vending machines only accept credit cards which then charges you a fee for using said credit cards to buy items in the vending machines! They do not take cash or coins. The area is across from a McDonalds and a gas station so can be quite noisy. There are NO elevators so if you are elderly and/or handicapped you need to book on the first floor. Our room was a handicapped room; however, it had a bathtub instead of a shower which is NOT handicapped friendly.

We were disappointed that the swimming pool was not open. The ice machine did not work and the breakfast was toast and cereal.

I was charged $180+ for the night. The pool could not be used. The ice machine was broken. The carpets were very nasty looking. All I can say good about this hotel is it didn’t have bugs which I checked very thoroughly for I would not tell anyone to stay here !

Front desk staff was rude when i told them my air conditioner didn't work. He said he'd take a look at it and fix it, but never did. Multiple rooms had sticky carpets. So bad that a few didn't take their shoes off unless they were in bed. Ice machine didn't work and hopefully you're not hungry because all the vending machines were empty. Saturday morning the smell of something cooking was so bad that it made me gag when i walked out of my room.

The whole building smelled of cigarette smoke. The only ice machine in the whole place was broken. The breakfast was VERY limited!

I picked a hotel with a pool but when we got there the pool is down. The free breakfast items are muffins and cereal. Staff was friendly.

Very run down. No elevator. I can smell cig smoke. I thought all hotels were smoke free.

Room was clean but pool was not open and in need of repairs with no sign of working on it. Looked like they were using it for storage. No ice, no coffee in rooms.

There was no elevator. People should get housekeeping every day without having to ask for it

the bathroom had cob webs all over.the chair was dirty and stained.the white bath towels had nasty stains all over them.

The overall condition of the property was in poor condition & the room was not very clean & had a dampness smell to it. The continental breakfast was disappointing from what I have experienced at other Days Inn. Honestly, if I was staying more than 1 night I would have gone to another hotel. The Comfort Inn is in much better condition & has better services.

We just needed a place to crash after hours of driving on our road trip and knew not to expect much. But even then it was surprising how dirty the hallways were, pet hair all over (we knew it was pet friendly and hate that but put up with it for one night), like just not a good impression and made us weary of our room. We had booked a non-smoking room, but it REEKED of smoke. And THEN...I woke up the next morning and noticed some bites on my one leg and immediately was trying not to panic if they were bed bug bites. 😩Apparently they most often bite in a zigzag pattern, which my five bites were like a zigzag. Maybe it was fleas or spider bites but based on the rest of the hotel it wouldn't shock me if some kind of bugs existed. They say its not cleanliness that determines bed bugs, they can happen in the fanciest hotel too, but man if they would at least do a deeper cleaning it would already feel so much more comfortable. I had to wait awhile to check out because no one was at the front desk, which was the only hotel on our road trip where we had that issue. Annoying when time is ticking and you don't want to waste it. Needless to say, if we're ever coming through the area again we would book a different place. Not much selection but I'd rather pay more and not have a smoking room when I booked non-smoking and all these other things. When we got home, we disinfected EVERYTHING, cleaned and vacuumed out our entire car and hoping and praying it wasn't bed bug bites!!

okay cleanliness, build up in corners of bathroom, carpet. mattress needs replaced--way soft. room not well ventilated. very acceptable value

I ended up not even staying at the hotel because cockroaches crawled on top of me and when I asked the front desk about it they acted like there's nothing they can do so I ended up sleeping in my car

Pleasant staff. Clean room. Bed super soft - almost like a feather bed! Only complaint is that room did not have a coffee maker

The hotel is old and run down a bit. The bed was comfortable and the staff friendly. The continental breakfast was a joke, but there are food joints near by.

Booked the room based on the ratings on this site, but very disappointing. No issues with the check-in, but the room had a very distinct and strong damp odor. Which was bad, but what is inexcusable is a room on the ground floor with a window on the parking lot side which did not lock, and the outside screen was completely torn across the bottom. Not good.

I knew I'd be arriving late so i noted that information in my reservation. I also asked for a ground floor room away from smoking rooms, vending machines, steps, ice machine and outside doors. Upon check in, the only request honored was a ground floor room. I was in room 128 which was next to everything noisy. I had a fan w/ me so it drowned out the noise and it was a week night so not too busy. The information regarding the free breakfast should state continental breakfast. There wasn't too many choices. The one item that was very noteworthy is the extremely comfortable bed.

Bed was very worn and pillows were lumpy. Space was clean. Staff friendly

Most of the hotel was fine.Small issues like several wall outlets did not work. No hot water at 2AM. Then there are the beds. These are beyond soft. I sank into a V in the bed as did my 5'2" wife. These must be replaced. Breakfast was sparse and the coffee bad but it was what I expected for free.

This room had one of the softest and most comfortable beds that I have slept in for a long time !

Clean room, noisy guests upstairs and no gym. Breakfast was actually very good- had croissant breakfast sandwiches just heat and eat! Front staff was friendly and got us checked in quickly. Comfortable room

This is a basic hotel, it's a great value for meeting all your needs of clean, safe place to stay overnight. It's next to the world's largest truck stop, and there's not much in the area, so it's really a stop on your way. But very convenient, and we were happy with it. The bed is like sleeping on a marshmallow, very cloud-like, my hubby liked it but I like a firmer mattress.

Although the clerk was obviously not native in his language, he was very friendly and patient with my questions and requests. He explained things well and gave us an accessible room near to the lobby and breakfast. Room was quiet and comfortable.

Smelled horrible - smoky and musty, rude staff, and didn't even have a room for me (even with a reservation), forcing me to go looking for an alternate at 10PM after a long day on the road.

Hotels app told me price was $65 total, then I got to hotel itself, and they charged me and extra $35 for a reason the desk person couldn’t explain or give detail as to why. So now I’m out and $35 for a reason I don’t even know.

If it were $150 a night, it would be a 2 star. But at $75, safe, clean, convenient, it’s nearly a 5 star.

Suited my needs for quick access to davenport

Could use updating,. Was quite considering it is not far from I-80 truck plaza.

We stayed at this Days Inn Walcott after an Iowa football game. The hotel is located 40 minutes east of Iowa City off of I80. I booked it for $50 on Expedia so we weren't expecting much. I was a little worried by the stark condition of the lobby but as I proceeded down the hallway, up the stairs and to our room I was actually impressed with how clean the place was. The bed was super soft, probably too soft for most people's liking, and there were plenty of pillows. There are no elevators but only two floors. We would have liked to see in room coffee service but otherwise the amenities were adequate. I was worried about noise but only heard some loud traffic noise, doors closing and people talking out on the hallway around midnight. It was brief and seemed quiet for the remainder of the night. The morning coffee in the lobby was hot and fresh but the only other breakfast options offered were toast, cold cereal, oatmeal packets, wrapped blueberry muffins and juice. We skipped breakfast and grabbed McDonald's next door. For the budget price, convenience and cleanliness I would probably stay here again if the need ever arose.

Good price Lousy breakfast

Accommodation includes an inexistent breakfast. OJ, apple juice, milk, almost empty 2 type cereal, barely a few slices of bread and tinny muffins, apples, sugar packets and coffee. Oh, and plastic knives, forks, spoons, with nothing to use them on.
