We needed one night in Hanmer on short notice. The whole village was nearly booked out and what was left available required a 2 night minimum so our options were limited. The price we paid for a studio was cheap and the room did reflect that. It was dated but comfortable, grounds are tidy and host was friendly. Clean crisp sheets (from a external laundry business assumingly) My faults would be horribly bright strip lighting, a heater not fit for purpose and dishes not clean. Otherwise ok for price point.

Very small, very dated, we got what we paid for! Lack of power points, heater kept tripping off, unkempt lawns, no space in bathroom, but bed was comfy, shower was good. Not in a hurry to revisit!

The bathroom was very small and there was mould on the ceiling above the shower , on the positive side was a very comfortable bed. also no milk in the fridge.

Had a great stay - room was very clean and comfy and a huge bonus was having sky tv (including sports) in the room! Rooms were warm and surprisingly quiet between the rooms, the only noise in the morning with people leaving early eg slamming car doors etc. We were a little apprehensive to stay just given some of the previous reviews but honestly for Hanmer prices we felt like we got really good value - it’s not a brand new modern motel but the price reflects this and so long as people go in knowing they aren’t staying at the Ritz there shouldn’t be any issue. The hosts were very friendly and helpful also. We would definitely stay again.

Nice location- easy to walk into Main Street. Good size accommodation for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Place is quite tired and could do with an upgrade. Walls are quite thin as you can hear people going up and down stairs. Room was of average cleanliness as some clothes were left from previous people, hair in shower, dirty pillowcase. Fine if just need somewhere to sleep.

They were friendly and helpful but the accomodation is very tired, no sound proofing between walls, cramped and dark, lots of broken lights (which didn’t help), hasn’t been updated in decades. Kitchen was very basic with very old benchtop oven with elements on top. Not ideal for cooking. Was a wonderful location and it was the last available option in town so meant we could actually go. Don’t have high expectations.

Lovely staff. Clean room. More coffees would've been good but i feel I could've asked for more if it wasn't 5 am! The bed needs updating...roll together going on but it did the trick and we will definitely stay again.

Great place to stay with family members open open and spacious. Lovely fairy garden reserve at the end of the street with a playground and lovel walking track. Short walk to the shops and Hot pools. Will definlty stay again😊

Larchwood Motel is well located. However it is severely lacking in up-keep and maintenance. Upon entering the unit it was smelly - stale alcohol/smoke. We opened up the room (it was freezing) for 15 minutes or so to air it out. The curtains are shabby and ill fitting on some windows. The bathroom was adequate but again shabby, a soiled towel had been left on the hook from a previous stay. The one positive is that the bedding/beds were clean and crisp. Our stay was for one short night, we would not have persevered if it was longer.

Larchwood Motel is well located. However it is severely lacking in up-keep and maintenance. Upon entering the unit it was smelly - stale alcohol/smoke. We opened up the room (it was freezing) for 15 minutes or so to air it out. The curtains are shabby and ill fitting on some windows. The bathroom was adequate but again shabby, a soiled towel had been left on the hook from a previous stay. The one positive is that the bedding/beds were clean and crisp. Our stay was for one short night, we would not have persevered if it was longer.

Quieter time in town, but asked to check in earlier, which was fantastic, as it allowed us to get to the springs for the afternoon, followed by dinner at a great nearby restaurant.

Parking was good, check in no problem and the guy was friendly. The room was big and loads of space. Beds were very comfortable. The downsides are the bath was stained brown, no way would you have a bath in it. The toilet had brown stains in the bottom. The lighting is poor and I don’t think legally compliant. No privacy anywhere, every window/door has others looking in.
