MARİNA HOTEL

I have stayed at The Marina Hotel previously. A very good central hotel, rooms clean and staff courteous and helpful.

Imagine checking in at 2 pm to a normal room, nothing fancy. You go out to the city and get back to the hotel at 2 AM! It turns out the room lost it's electricity, you did not get informed via phone when the problem first occured so at least you could find another accomodation. Now you are left stranded at the street 2.30 am, you were told there are not other rooms, you were not assisted with finding a room in neighboring hotels, nothing. You are informed that the charges are refunded, congratulations now you are left to survive in a foreign city with your heavy luggage middle of the night. This is beyond unprofessional and simply unacceptable behavior from an establishment. I wouldn't recommend to stay here for anyone who respect themselves

The hotel is not in proper operation, it's outdated, had an odd, unfair conditioned small elevator. No air conditioning in lobby or room halls so you arrive being welcomed by irritated front desk staff. Hotel room A/C units were weak in the middle of summer, loud and has a bright light on your face while you sleep. The drapes are not room darkening either . The body towels are the size of large hand towels, a big joke. Don't bother to ask for additional items as the staff is unhelpful and iritatable. If you have a car, that can only be parked after the alley way businesses close (7:30pm or later) and can not stay parked after 10am in the sparse 3-4 spots in front of hotel. You have to go find an auto park and pay for parking location is in the busy local city center with alley streets. The Expedia address we used on Google map takes you to the wrong area, then you have to go through busy traffic and one way streets to get to the right place that I had to call front desk staff for. Both staff were rude and unhelpful when asked for bed sheets to sleep with instead of the crochet quilt (which did not look clean) in the middle of hot June/July days. They give you a hard time to ask for a second key for your room too. Breakfast was always out of items and they don't replenish unless you ask kitchen staff to bring more out. Highly discourage staying here, go father out and find a more appreciative hotel that will welcome you and care about making you comfortable.
