First Camp Skovlund Camping & Cottages

We called the reseption around 4pm as we saw we would be arriving after 8pm due to traffic in germany. Where supposed to get an sms with checkin instructions. This was not send, så had to call 4-5 times a bit before 8 to make sure we would be having a cabin to sleep in. This time we got the instructions. Upon arrival, we found dirty bedsheets and towels from previous guests. So we had to start our stay by cleaning the cabin. When wanting to use the microwave (noted at hotels.com), we saw that its an oven, not microwave. Hence we could not heat what we had planned. Its a nice place, but we where very unlucky with our stay. It has a high price vs the poor beds (80s foam madrass)

We booked online. Got to the location and found reception closed. We were supposed to have gotten information for how to access keys and the property but never got it. Thank goodness another guest came by who spoke Danish. He called a phone number and got the information needed. The grounds and view were lovely. The cabin looked great. We got inside and it was tiny. The listing said 3 bedrooms but failed to mention that one was just a pad on the ground up in a loft with a steep ladder - children would probably love it. The other room had bunk beds - but not much room for anything other than the beds. Had to keep luggage in the main area. Same with the bedroom with the queen bed. No room for anything else so luggage was in the main room. Bathroom and kitchen are functional. You have to do all the cleaning and if not up to their standards, will charge you. The place was clean enough. I know these are cabins for camping so are a little less plush but truly if you tried to put the suggested number of people in this cabin, you would be tripping all over each other. The outside patio was quite nice and would make a nice place to hang out.

We booked a cabin on the night of our stay. After we paid for the non-refundable cabin we received an email stating that there were no bed linens but we could rent some. When we arrived it was impossible to rent bedding and it was difficult to contact the property and receive any assistance. We gave up and paid for another hotel for the night. The property refused to give us a refund even though it was impossible for us to use the room.

Very nice campground. Clean and plentiful facilities. The staff was wonderful. My only recommendation would be that the mattresses in the cabins be upgraded. They were pretty dated & used hard.
