Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ridgecrest - China Lake by IHG

This is a beautiful new hotel that is very clean and easy to get to. My only complaint is that along with the handicapped parking spots, which are normal, the whole front of the hotel next to the front door is reserved for clean energy vehicles. Not the spots that have electrical plug-ins. They were all empty on the day that I was there and everyone who had a gas powered vehicle had to park significantly further away from the front door. As a regular traveler who is in and out hotels every night, this was a big inconvenience and I didn't like it. One or two would be fine. But not the whole side of the hotel close to the front door.

Stayed locally, for the night before my wedding. Had a bunch of great friends who stayed here as well. Comfortable room and bed. Had a wonderful night. Enjoyed the pool. Great place to stay!

Call button for 3rd floor elevator had been recently broken by soldiers. Had to call front desk by phone to send elevators for pick up.

The front desk staff was friendly but that is the only good thing about this place. The pool is dirty and has algae growing in it. We arrived on a Saturday and stayed thru Thursday. Not one time did our room get serviced. We had to beg the front desk for a clean towel, coffee and toilet paper. Would not recommend this place and have changed my upcoming trip to another establishment.

Modern hotel, quiet room, firm bed, blackout curtains, tasty breakfast choices, close to most everything in town. Great that they accept pets, but they have not provided any area for them to relieve themselves outside. Check in and out was easy. Bring a night light for the bathroom.

The hotel is new, 1 year, it’s contemporary, nice and really clean. The front desk personnel tries hard, but needs some more training with the new staff. The breakfast offered was quite good, even tasty. Phyllis the department head was personable, kind, working hard at pleasing all the customers. The cleaning staff, the maid service was excellent, very kind, wanting to please the guests. Amber went above and beyond, always with a smile. Now what wasn’t pleasant; the management staff, which is a reflection of upper management. The elevators quit working, and we were stuck on the top floor. We were there to celebrate my mothers 89th birthday, with several guests and dinner reservations. Alas, we couldn’t use the elevators, broken, even scary when working. Anyway, we spoke with the front desk, and they called the hotel manager at home, Chelsa, and they were told “tell them to walk down the stairs!” They were told my mom was turning 89, and we were going to miss her birthday party, and visiting friends and family! I realize elevators breakdown, can’t be helped, but these elevators are just a year old! But, managements attitude was appalling!!!!! Shameful. Management never spoke with us, NO apology, NO nothing! “Tell them to walk down the stairs!” After 3 hours we were called, and told they were working. Again, the staff was embarrassed, and apologized for managements attitude. Never a response from management, nothing. The maintenance man on the property, James, was our hero!

Hotel was nice and new. Lots of parking. Room was spacious and clean. Free breakfast was the normal items, their signature cinnamon rolls were hard as a rock.

Great facility and staff, only suggestion would be to mark the entrance road a little better at the Main Street, and maybe towels/shade at the pool.

The hotel and location are good. The front desk is helpful. But the management is bad. The rooms were not cleaned during our stay. Coffee machine was broken

Very clean

Room was spotless. Guy at front desk was friendly and accommodating. Very happy we were able to bring our family furry with us. Looking forward to breakfast.

This hotel is extremely clean and nice. The shower is amazing and the room was spacious.

The property was clean and new. Everyone was friendly. The morning breakfast people were amazing, my only thing would be housekeeping didn't come to straighten up the room but I guess maybe they were busy. It was very easy to get extra towels and coffee. Very nice place

Wonderful room, just surprised that a hotel, this new, would already have a soft spot in the middle of the bed. Very nice shower, great breakfast, and exceptionally friendly staff!

Liked the hotel. The beds were ok, rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. What we didn’t like was the ac unit in our room was extremely noisy. Noticed the noise when we checked in but figured we could live with it. It was very hot outside and the unit ran constantly until late at night. When it shut down it woke us up. Big bang and squealing noise. Complain to the desk personnel next morning. They were going to send maintenance to check it out. We had a very busy day. Unit was quieter when we returned. Didn’t last. Personally I feel that if they had properly trained their people the unit would of been reported as having a problem and the hotel would not put a guest in there until it was fixed. Hotel wasn’t busy. Last day we were there I complained again about the noise and they offered us a different room. Second room was quiet and we enjoyed sleeping there. Learned a valuable lesson. Don’t hesitate to ask for another room if something is wrong when you check in. I have never had an issue staying at a Holiday Inn and was disappointed.

Incredibly friendly staff. Modern, tastefully decorated room. Great view of Sierra Nevada mountains from north side. Great breakfast.

Very noisy AC

Very nice, updated rooms, all amenities including Keurig, mini fridge and microwave. Just passing through town, but very clean and comfortable room.

The hotel was very new and modern,,.and clean! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, and the breakfast buffet was delicious.

The property is great! Expedia sucks! We came to check in and didn’t have a reservation, Expedia never sent it. The wonderful people at the front desk called and after being on hold for 15 minutes was able to get an Expedia card number to check us in.

Room was not ready at 7:00 PM check in.

Check in was VERY quick and super simple. Hotel room and facilities were clean and well maintained.

Overall staff was friendly and helpful. Though it felt like bit understaffed. But everyone was helpful. Facility was excellent. Had everything we would need. Breakfast was good, though the space for sitting was bit limited.

They apparently gave us the wrong room and there was a person in the room. Then they had to cancel my reservation so i can get a room.

It's been a week since I stayed at this hotel and they still haven't refunded the $35 incidental charge on my credit card. I can't trust or do business with any hotel that takes this long to handle something like this. It's unprofessional.

Looks like it was just built or renovated. Very clean, very fresh. Relatively close proximity to Death Valley Park.

New hotel so nice to be one of the first to use. Stayed 2 nights and second day housekeeping cart sat outside next door room for 3+ hours and never attempted to service our room. Breakfast choices good, though shame the pancake machine always down. Hard to approach hotel, back road entrance closed and can only reach in one direction.

The staff was kind. Everything was super correct and delicious breakfast. Perfect if you plan to visit Dead Valley, but do not want to stay inside the park.

The hotel is fairly new, so maps gets confused on where the building is. But you can’t miss it.

The hotel is new and everything worked with enough lights in the room. The staff was very helpful. The major issue was the provided breakfast which was substandard and much more limited than any other HIE I have stayed in. The excuse was the truck with the food did not arrive. Not a very good reason in my opinion.

Great room. New, clean, and comfortable. Coffee maker in room leaked and would not make cofee. Weekend breakfast is 7am-10pm. We got there at 9:00 am and they were out of most everything. No cinnamon rolls, no eggs, no sausage. The begals we stale. The orang juice was out. Recommend if you are counting on breakfast to get there early.

The rooms are very noisy with the fan that goes in all the bathrooms all the time. The TV didn't work, the phone didn't work. The morning Breakfast was terrible, the staff was late, the coffee was like water and of course the kitchen oven was broken both days. The staff moved at a snails pace. I would recommend looking elsewhere. Would not go back. There are some other newer hotels and would suggest those. This one was a mistake.
