I had booked this place over Labor Day weekend because we were meeting my sister who was staying with her in-laws in Oak Island. I wanted to have the option of the indoor pool in case the weather was yucky so the kids could still play in water. When we got there, We saw a sign taped to the elevator about the pool, being under maintenance. According to the sign, it was supposed to be fixed by the next day. The staff that evening had no idea what I was talking about with regards to the pool, so they never mentioned anything. Each time we came and went, we would walk past the pool windows to see if they were making progress. The pool never was fixed while we were there. It was very disappointing because the weather was yucky one of the days, and we could have absolutely use the indoor pool. It was a major factor in why we chose that hotel. There was nothing on the booking warning as it was under maintenance otherwise I would have l chosen something cheaper. The other issue was the fact that the room smelled musty. Myself and my children all have asthma, so this irritated our lungs. There was only airflow if the AC was running, and there was no exhaust fan for the bathroom. I think these things added to the moisture level. The breakfast was substantial enough with a variety of choices, That was the main positive for our stay

They are only downfall is that they are advertising indoor pool and when I got there with all four of my grandchildren, the pool was closed and to be honest that was the only reason why I chose that hotel because of the pool so that the kids can have an excellent time

This location is easily accessible from the road, staff is very pleasant, simple amenities but well maintained. Complimentary breakfast is outstanding. Easy to find lounge, pool, and free parking. Roims are comfortable, housekeeping non-intrusive. Negatives but a few. Since it is undergoing renovations some can be tolerated but outstanding is the spoiled hall carpeting on the 3rd level (smells like a keger spilled its contents) and the pool area is hopefully slated to be freshened up although it was totally usable and appreciated. Lastly, again due to renos the lobby could use a sitting area with seating. Otherwise, we will return in the future.

The property was under construction (one of the floors, plus the access road leading to the property.) Our room was clean and breakfast was great! But it still was an obvious construction zone. I'm sure it will be beautiful when the construction is finished. I would stay there again.

Check in was very good, the staff on duty were very helpful, great customer service. Prior to going I was told that the site had a pool. The pool was inoperable, the ice machine on the 4th floor was broken. The shower had contained mold especially on the chalking. Departure the next morning was completely opposite my arrival, the person who was on the desk was cold as ice and lacked hospitality and manners.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable and breakfast was good. Complaints come with the vinyl padding on headboard was peeling making it look dirty. There were stains on carpet and vent was dirty.

The room we reserved wasn’t ready upon arrival. Front desk attendant was kind and offered us a double room at no extra cost. The room was extremely outdated and not very clean- hair I. The shower, gross carpet, bathroom had mold and flooded every time we showered. Took our kids to the pool to swim and there was human feces on the floor in the pool area. Breakfast was decent. Would not stay here again.the staff, however, was kind.

The property needs a deep cleaning in the rooms. My shower was filthy as well as the sink. We had to move to another room because of it. Then when we moved, it had the same issues. I had to clean it myself. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls because it was dated. The next morning, we became stuck in the elevator on the second floor. We called the staff and pushed another button to hopefully trigger the elevator. About 10 minutes later, it started moving. I had issues with two charges to my account but was able to eventually resolve the issue. On the upside, the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful every morning we stayed.

Staff at desk were courteous. I had called ahead to have the two rooms that were booked by me to be nearby if possible, was told a note was made about my request. Not sure if it was because when we arrived desk clerk didnt seem to know about it and it wasnt possible to get the rooms near by. Which we dealt with. When we got to our room my husband tried to turn on the tv. Nothing worked and no directions anywhere to show us how to use. I ended up going to front desk and clerk tried to explain i had to use my phone and wifi. I did try to do this to no avail. Not everyone is tech savy or has phones to do this stuff. Shame on the hotel to expect patrons to have to do this just to watch tv! I get them wanting to save money but there must be a better way! I was surprised how rough the grounds around the hotel looked. Between the all the weeds and garbage around the building it didnt put out a very nice appearance for a hotel. My husband and i stayed at this hotel last October and it was a pleasant experience, not so much this time. Sure hope it gets better before we come to the area again.

Overall, very good- new, clean, good service. The only was the sleeping sofa- I know they are usually not that great but given the fact that everything else looked brand new, and that the mattress on the bed itself was fantastic, the one on the sofa was terrible- maybe 2.5 inches thick, and the frame was "wavy", extremely uncomfortable. Had to pull it back in and sleep on the sofa itself. All else was great.

Wonderful room. I was a solo traveler who loved the 4 big squishy pillows! I had a small couch and a coffee table. The bathroom had full sized shampoo and conditioner as well as makeup remover towelettes. Mini fridge, keurig and microwave. The location is good, right next to a Lowe's Foods. 10 minutes from Oak Island and 15 to Holden.

My room was on the 4th floor, handicap friendly. The lighting in the bathroom is VERY dim and needs an upgrade. When applying makeup I had to continue to go across the room to the window to see what I was doing. Better lighting would make this room perfect.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, the manager noticed we had a king bed with a sofa bed for my wife and I along with our teenage son. She offered to change us to a room with two queen beds at no additional charge.

Terrible experience with the place. Book through Expedia up to ten times a year for many years have never had a problem. However this place lost my reservation after they had already ran my card. I had to show that and they still couldn’t find it. I had to rebook another room luckily they weren’t at capacity or I would have been SOL. This morning when checking no one had any record of me staying in the room I was placed in and then got a phone call at 12 pm after checking out at 6 am that they were wondering about what time I was planning on leaving my room that it was past check out time. For some reason they had multiple people with my last name and they could t seem to figure out who was who. Never again a horrible experience

Check in time was 4 pm. We arrived at 5:30 and our room wasn't available. We got our bags together and were waiting in the dining room. The front desk employee told me she had switched our room so we could check in. We got to our room and it was set up as a room for guests with disabilities. The shower was a no step shower. The water ran all over the floor. Housekeeping replaced towels one day but didn't make the bed. The next day the bed was made but we didn't get any towels. The smoke alarm went off one morning. Rather than turn the alarm off, the front desk clerk stood in the lobby apologizing and explained that someone had burned some toast. Lots of room for improvement.

There is road work that is going on in the area and the entrance to the hotel is right in the middle of it. It is hard to enter and hard to leave without someone on the highway allowing you to get in or out. The room was ok although one of us had to move because the maintenance men could not fix the problem. We went from a spacious room to a crowded room. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices.

The stay was pretty good. The family and I only stayed a night. However, at breakfast my son got a chocolate milk that had chunks in it because it was expired. We told a worker there and she just said “gross” then walked away.
