Check-in was next door at Continental Hotel but given plenty of notice of this. Reception was so helpful with extra pillows and a kettle as well as being efficient and professional. Was very impressed with this. Location was very central to everything and having an outdoor section to our room was very welcome (although no shade available). Room was spotless and extremely comfortable. Pity we were only stopping two days. Zermatt itself is very busy, lots of restaurants/thing to do and lots of visitors and we are glad we finally made it there. Often gets cut off in winter and with local storms we were worried ourselves as trains from Visp were bus replacement. But all worked for us in the end and very happy we chose this hotel to stay at.

A lovely little alpine hotel. Rooms were comfortable and staff helpful. Private balcony. Breakfast was nice and location was great - on a side street off the Main Street. Note - About five steps up to gain entrance to the hotel. Would recommend.

Very friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. Reasonably priced and had a nice breakfast included. Close to everything in Zermatt including the train station and ski rental shop. Having the ski room was convenient, too.

We were there during hot weather. I should have checked more closely to the amenities. No a/c or fan in the room. Convenient location, shower was a little tricky for older adults or children. Super clean room with comfy beds. Service seemed odd since we had to check in at another hotel.

Hotel is very good. 3 minutes walk from station. They give good breakfast every morning (bread, croissant, cheese, juice, egg, meat, cereal, tea/coffee, yogurt). Provided US plug in adapter, hot water kettle and fan. Front Desk was very polite and very helpful. Left baggage with hotel after check out.

Don’t let any bad reviews discourage you from booking this hotel. Check in experience is in another hotel ONLY 50 steps away. Although furniture is way outdated and carpeted, everything was super clean. Room was super spacious and our room had a private balcony approximately 100 square feet. Train station is a 5 minute walk. Dining and shops all walkable.

To check in we needed to go to a different hotel.! The carpet in our room was worn and stained. Room size was comfortable. No wall decorations at all. Beds were fine. Bathtub/shower challenging for older adults. Generous breakfast.

1. The rooms are very cramped 2. There is no window in the room as shown in the pictures on expedia. 3. The bathroom is very small and there in not enough space even to stand while taking shower. The picture on expedia shows a decent sized bathroom. 4. The room was unclean and the pillows and bed sheets were not changed. 5. We had requested a room on higher floor but we were assigned a room on the first floor which was noisy. 6. Thus the price paid by us is too expensive and we did not enjoy our stay at all. We are totally disappointed as it seems expedia does not verify the postings on their website. We will never book again on expedia.

We loved this charming hotel. The place is a 70’s ski lodge really and is very old fashioned. You can see the place has been very loved and it was SO CLEAN. It’s a bit quirky and the rooms are small (like all of those old ski lodges) but we really liked the overall charm.

J'ai été déçus par la composition de la chambre. Cela ne reflétait pas les photos lors de la réservation. Mini salle d'eau, douche WC et sèche cheveux dans 1,2 M², lavabo dans la chambre à coucher. Insonorisation avec le couloir presque inexistante. Bonne literie. mini télé. personnel cordiale.

The best attributes about the Hotel Alphubel in Zermatt were its location and reasonable price (at least it was reasonable for this area). It is an easy walk from the train station, and a short block away from the main commercial street. The worst thing about it is that the bathroom had a slight sewage odor. The bathroom was small but clean, and the odor wasn't so bad that it was detectable in the room when the door was closed. The bed was not especially comfortable, but adequate.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Hotel hat eine super Lage, nur 3 Minuten vom Bahnhof entfernt und dennoch ruhig, weil nicht direkt an der Hauptstraße. Das Frühstück ist okay, der Kaffee hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Unsere Zimmer waren extrem hellhörig, Schlafen war kaum möglich. Die Zimmer werden aber wohl noch renoviert. Allerdings waren die Zimmer sehr sauber. Würden wir wieder dieses Hotel buchen? Wenn die Zimmer renoviert und schallisoliert sind, dann auf jeden Fall!

It is close to the train station. And its easy to find. Checking in was fairly straight forward, with the exception that the desk clerk paid more attention to another guest that came in after I, and I had to endure their entire conversation wondering when I would become the priority. The room on the fourth floor is quirky but thats what i expected. Its obviously a repurposed building as the toilet and sink were in what used to be a closet. There is a secondary room with a desk? There is a comfortable bed with another desk next to it. Breakfast in the mornings is nice. Food was delicious and fresh. Although the eggs are uncooked. Didn't know that at first. Oops. The hallway noise is very noticeable and i could hear neighboring rooms very well. Including someone snoring all night long. But it is Zermat. So these minor details are easily overlooked for being able to stay in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Solid 4 stars

The property is close to the train station, restaurants and shopping area so it is really very convenient. The check in/check out counter is not in the property itself but in another hotel few steps away. This could probably cause a little delay when checking in or out at the same time with the people in the other hotel.

The location is great with only a short walk from the train station. Furniture and decor is very retro 70s but it was in working order and clean. Check in was via the hotel a bit further down but wasn't an issue and was a smooth process with friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious and had a great variety on offer. Would stay here again and recommend.

Unfriendly front staff, shower drain worked poorly so we had to take really short shower or it was a flood, breakfast staff was nice but breakfast was mediocre at best.

An older hotel, nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. The you can't beat the location, just a couple min walk from the station right in downtown Zermatt but just off the main Street so it's quiet. The very reasonable room rate included a breakfast buffet of breads, croissants, cold meat and cheese, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs (easy DIY) and good coffee etc. Everything was spotless and staff were very pleasant. A good way to start the day exploring Zermatt.

Perfect location. Less than 10 minute walk to train station. Private even though 30 seconds to main thoroughfare. Wonderful restaurants just outside hotel entrance.

For the price you pay this is a mediocre hotel. There was absolutely no staff at anytime. Breakfast is just for name sake.quadruple room is really tiny. I should have rather paid and stayed elsewhere. The carpet is some ugly color and room doesn’t look fresh though it’s clean. Bathroom is also real tiny
