The hotel is quite run down and the rooms haven’t been properly cleaned, which was a shock as we couldn’t check in until after the stated time. It’s clear the cleaners don’t do a proper one as water was dried on the shower door, there was also build up all over the fixtures from lack of upkeep. I think all that looked to have been done was a bedding change - the cleaners cart didn’t look to have any cleaning spray or anything in either. It would be a nice hotel if they kept up with it

This is a no-frills hotel that is perfect if you never want to be bothered by hotel staff. That said, sometimes having some level of service is nice. I arrived for check-in around 10pm. Upon arrival, there was no one at the front desk. A sign explained that someone would be back soon. I waited for about 15 minutes. The person said almost nothing to me during the process other than to tell me where the wifi password is and what my room number was. Again, some travelers don't want any interaction. I prefer a little. Ask me if I need something. The do not provide cleaning service unless (1) staying for more than three days and (2) if you request it at the front desk. I am a tidy person, so I did not request it, but I did request bottled water when I saw the cleaning staff in the hallway. When you leave, the front desk says nothing to you. When you arrive back, the front desk says nothing to you. No smiles, no "have a nice day," nothing. There are some very simple snacks (Taiwanese-style chips) and a coffee machine available in the lobby. The TV service is some of the best I've experienced in Taiwan. A great range of English and local channels. That was nice. The bathroom had good water pressure and toilets that flushed well. The bad was very hard. There was no extra furniture in the room, so you are sitting on the bed and laying down in the bed. Also, there were no lamps. This was frustrating. Overall, it was a good stay. I will stay here again if it is only for a couple of days
