Sun Plaza Motel

Upon arrival the staff came off very aggressive and rude. She changed the price multiple times, I advised her that I had already paid online thru expedia and I also told her that I brought my 2 children a total of 4 guest initially that was not the plan so the reservation was for 2people. After being honest about that and willing to pay any additional fees she became enraged and started throwing things and slamming the papers on the desk yelling that "she was sick and tired of people sneaking extra people and went on a rant about how a previous person had 6 people in the room" My wife and I calmly sympathized with her and said he are being honest and most hotels that you get a room with 2 beds will allow 4guest max. She argued that their policy for a room with 2 beds was only 3 people. lol and demanded more money, but when my wife explained what was stated in the description she rudely told us if we didnt like it we could leave. (we shouldve just cancelled and left instead of allowing her to continue to disrespect us, but we were tired and just wanted to rest) finally after everything was situated we paid the extra and the key was given. We drove around the office to the room. The pool has no water, the unkeep of the property looks nothing like the photos "maybe 20-30yrs ago" the porches of the rooms most are cluttered with what appears to be long term stays, it looks unsafe outside and as we entered the room in only got worst we brought lysol but that didnt help

The website and brochure portray an image of a refurbished, retro, 1960's style motel, but the reality is completely different. The pool is closed and damaged. The playground, picnic area and fire pit area are dilapidated. The grounds are unkept and neglected. Many of the people there were residents, rather than travellers, and in one occasion, I had to go out and yell at them for drinking and playing music after quiet hours. The owners disconnected their phone, so we couldn't lodge a complaint. On the plus size, the room was clean, and we did receive proper service

The room seemed clean, smelled of bleach and the beds were comfortable. Not too terrible if your expectations aren't high. Found 4 hairs on the walls of the shower. Not much lighting. The pool was in complete disaster filled with patio furniture. The man at the front desk was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. The lobby was filled with the families belongings, shoes and it smelt awful. We checked out at 9am and there was no breakfast as the front door was locked. Do not recommend.

The desk area is a mess and the clerk/owner gave us the wrong room (already occupied). When he finally found us a room he made us go back to the office to get another key instead of offering to bring it to us. Pool is nasty and outside areas are kind of creepy and illkept. Mattresses are old and slanted due to people sitting on the edge of the bed. Felt like sleeping on a hillside. AC and wifi were marinal and we were never able to get TV working.

No pool! Didn't even check in.

Got in around midnight and I had paid everything online and when I got the window took someone 20 minutes to come to the door. The man asked me do you have any pets and I said yes he said 15 per pet I told him I already paid on line and I don’t under stand what is going on and then I also asked him why wasn’t there any water in there pool can’t use the pool big picture of it on the hotel.com before I could say anything else he threw my license and credit card at me and started screaming cancel cancel and slammed his little door

This motel was nothing like advertised. It was dirty both inside the rooms and outside. Taps would not turn off, mold, rust. Looked like sink had not been cleaned in a long time. Outside every room there was piles of cigarette ends and rubbish. The pool was empty of water, but full of furniture. We could not wait to leave.

Theirvisca half inch gap under the the front door..So bugs can get in..Ice box was broken for months, I saw roaches

I didn't expect the Ritz Carlton but I did expect something better than this. It's awful, floors aren't swept, etc etc. I think you get the picture. It's just an old place.

My bed frame was broken, the bed did not lay flat. Killing roaches the entire. Cigarette burns and ashes all over furniture. Also the worst check in experience I’ve ever had, the dude was literally yelling at me. I thought I was being pranked. DO NOT COME HERE

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Bathroom had a couple roaches in it and the shower was basically set up for someone. That was a very small person.. water temperature could never get right it would go from cold to scalding hot on its own. It took like five minutes for it to warm up. There’s no outlet to really plug-in a phone charger. They have people living there full-time who are making noise all night long or you can’t even get no rest, the bed were actually uncomfortable crunchy when you sat down on it

It appeared our room was in the process of being remodeled. Subfloor only on the floor, and the only furniture was the bed, 2 nightstands, 2 chairs, and one table. Small TV on the wall. The pluses...nice folks, AC worked well, and the toilet flushed well.

Rooms are kinda outdated for the price. Lamp in the room didn’t even have a shade on it. Had to wake the staff up at 3 am because door key didn’t work.

Upon check-in the building has a old bleach smell. The rooms are so strong with the smell we had to air out for hours before closing the door. Dated rooms ,small tv ,poor ventilation. Would not recommend wasting your time. traffic noise sounds like its being played over loud speakers.

The staff at this hotel are absolutely horrific. They are running an active scam, just go and read all the one star Google reviews where they cancel people's reservations right before arrival or upon arrival and still charge them. This is exactly what they did to my brother and I who had driven 9 hours and made our reservation 2 weeks prior. We purposely chose the pay upon arrival option just in case something came up and after arriving at around 9 pm, the entire family running the place refused to open the door to the lobby and yelled at us, "no vacancy!!!" I told them I had made a reservation on Expedia and they refused to honor it and continued yelling and raising their fists at us. The man, his wife, and their mother all yelled and treated us horribly. They refused to even allow us in the lobby after our long day of travel, then proceeded to charge my account $187 for the 2 nights we booked after telling us we couldn't check in. I asked Expedia for a refund and they refused since the hotel refused. I will be pursuing legal action. I am repulsed that Expedia would allow this kind of scam and refuse to do the research that thing and refund our money. Horrible company and horrible hotel.

I booked a room and the property manager waited until the day of the reservation and cancelled the booking and I can't get my money back so they scammed me out of my money and apparently I'm not the only one their reviews are full of scammed people! I'm contacting law enforcement and the news about this!

I liked the laid back atmosphere, locals or regulars grilling outside their rooms. The hostess was super friendly and called everybody "Mama".

Upon arrival, the room was not like the pictures. It has a window shaker a/c that was loud. The shower was low water pressure and not hot water. But that was not the worst part. The worst part was the manager who was extremely rude! We asked about getting 2 more towels as there was only 2 in the room for two people, and also asked for toilet paper as we didn’t see any. The managers response was to scream and tell us to get out! We stayed in our room, did not get additional towels nor did we ask for anything else. We felt unsafe as two women traveling and we will never stay here again!!! I would recommend the Super 8 at 40 which is cheaper and better

They didn’t even have my reservation. I had to scramble to find a hotel in the middle of the night. They were rude and offered no repayment for my reservation that I had booked through Expedia.

Pictures for the hotel are from 10 years ago when someone renovated it. Hotel is managed by some Hindu people who don’t speak English. Check in closes at 11:00. Hotel staff was rude and hinged up the phone when I tried to find out at what time I could arrive. No continental breakfast at all not even hot coffee. Pool was empty. Outdated. Dirty.

The microwave didn’t work but they changed out asap it’s an old motel and some people live there but our stay was great . Ice machine doesn’t work overall it’s cheap and was the closest to to concerts we were going to I would be glad to stay there again .

Easy access

Fabulous family business! The motel is quaint and nostalgic. For its price, it is a great location! It reminds me of traveling when I was young! They are doing some upgrades, so this is a great travel stopover.

The facilities are old but the rooms clean and comfy with great air conditioning and great hot water for showering. It was very peaceful and quiet and we all slept great! For this we highly recommend. Also family run! We came here to go kayaking at Silver Spring which is almost walking distance and we would come and stay here again!

We booked this hotel based on the advertised amenities, location and photos. Unfortunately, everything advertised was a lie. They said they had a complimentary Continental breakfast, that was a lie. They said they were located inside Silver springs State park, that was a lie. All the photos that were on the site were lies. We had no hot water, ac didn't work properly, hair dryer didn't work, no phone to connect to a service desk, room looked morning like photos, staff that didn't care that they weren't offering what their advertisement said and didn't speak/ understand English well. Very frustrated!!

It only looked good on pictures. Reception office doors locked, check in had to be done through a hole in the wall and it was only 9pm. In the posting on expidia it said breakfast included, but not even coffee in the morning. The bed was good though.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was not a good experience. (My compliments to the photographer for making it look better than it was. Very deceiving). I thought it was going to be a nostalgic throwback to the glory days of Silver Springs. Wrong. There was no breakfast or even coffee, the pool is closed and not maintained, there was a table and two chairs in the room, but nothing else for furniture or decor, very noisy window A/C window unit. The only thing that looked updated was the bed itself which was NOT the "best bed in town" as they advertise. Matter of fact, if you have issues with your back, it could be especially bad. On the plus side there was cable TV, so, there\'s that. I think some of the guests were "extended stay" which is usually not a good sign for small motels, but we didn\'t have any problems with the other guests. The worst thing was that the staff treated us less like motel guests and more like intruders in their house. I hate to be so negative, but this is the truth.

We did not even get to check in, barely in the door and already was given attitude. I did not understand why a credit card was needed and the woman at the desk immediately started snapping at me about canceling the reservation. After trying to calm her I asked a few more questions and the motel was not as advertised-no breakfast and working pool (was empty) we did ultimately request a refund. I was willing to give Sun Plaza a chance as a retro style motel, but the customer service we received changed oue decision.

Run down. False advertising. No pool, no continental breakfast, no ice, nothing like pictures on Travelocity!!

This was one of the worst stays, I will never stay at this motel even if you payed me, staff was very rude, house keeping never came I had to go get supplies from the office myself, and they actedlike I was stealing from them, there were no ameminitys, and you got one cup of coffee, with no creamer or sugar, and it was like you were bothering them to ask something of them oh there was one positive thing about parking in front of your room, but you could not park right because it interfer with the walk way
