We were happy with everythibg except steps to enter the rooms. Thery were broken up stones and could be a hazardous fall risk for older/disabled people.

Property was welcoming to pets. Room was a little small. Staff was responsive in getting more towels. The only main problem was that the toilet never worked properly.It would only flush very , very slowly if at all, and it was not able to be used other than for urinating. The staff attempted to correct the problem twice but it wasn't able o function properly.

Since we do not have mobility issues, we enjoy staying in one of Boxwood's large suites when visiting the area. Both feature a spacious room with a king-sized bed, desk and chair, a seating area with two armchairs and a small table between, a larger round marble topped table, and an armoire with a small refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom in each suite has a jetted tub/shower and a long counter with two sinks. One must be mobile enough to climb stairs and get into and out of the tub/shower. There are no safety bars in the bathroom.

A nice quiet little motel near shopping and dining. It’s a very convenient walk to the shopping and dining on Main Street. It’s less than a 10 minute walk to Mellow Mushroom.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful which I really appreciated. All the rooms have rocking chairs of them which is nice for relaxing when the weather is nice.

We stayed one night. When we asked for an extra blanket and were told no but then they said they would give us one the next day..? The floors were very dirty and there was no carpeting on the tile floor by the shower, so it was very slippery when getting out. My 77 year old mother was terrified she was going to fall and hurt herself. Our room had rocking chairs out front with a view of an old wooden fence that was 6 foot tall and couldn’t see anything but the fence…

We we're extremely impressed with how clean our room was. The entire Lodge gave off an "err" of being freshly cleaned & sanitized. We always check everything before we make our decision to as if we're comfortable staying someplace. The room had a bit of romantic charm to it. The staff was exceptional also exceedingly friendly & helpful. We woke up to a little surprise as it had snowed 🌨 all night. I was actually pleased to have our first ❄️ snow so early in the year. We would irrefutably recommend this place 🌞

The guy at front desk was very nice. Our room was on the 2nd floor which only has stairs up to it which feel dry rotted when walking on them. You have to Slam the door to get it to close. The room was big but was not clean especially in the bathroom behind the door! Very poor ventilation in the bathroom also. The bed was so hard!! The room was big I’ll give it that, but very dated for the $$$ I paid for it. I’d honestly rather pay an extra 300 next time and stay at the resort across the st, which I called to see if I could switch to, but they were sold out so we were stuck because everywhere was booked this past weekend too. I would not recommend it especially since it’s the same price as all the other hotels in the area. Cute when lit up at night but definitely would not stay again nor recommend!

Wonderful stay. Close to main part of town, good have walked but drove instead and always found parking easily. Room was spacious and comfortable and honestly had everything we needed. Knocked a star off as the floor seemed quite dirty.

An older building does not tell the story. The rooms were immaculate. I had a king bed which was huge. It was quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. The only negative was a small parking lot.

There was a loud pitch noise as the cold water went through the pipes. You could hear this noise in the building and out of the building. The noise was loudest in our room. An employee did move us to another property, but Boxwood Lodge is a no! The pictures are deceptive as heck.

Very small couch futon ! Uncomfortable for sitting yo watch TV ! TVs are very small for space ! Ceiling fans look like they are falling from ceiling from moisture and humidity blades are falling down and can't adjust them to run different speeds small trash cans but overall good on everything else

Only a small minor thing - and it didn’t get cold enough yet in the season for it to matter to us, but for others in the winter, the heat and air unit was so loud. When it came on I. The middle of the night it sounded like a train. We kept it turned off out second night. All else about replace as nice, functional, clean, and just right for the price.

This is a decent place to stay and they are dog friendly which is what I love more than anything the rooms are nothing to Rave about but they are clean I do have one huge complaint which actually may stop me from booking there again and that is the air conditioner it is super loud it goes on for part of the night and then it completely shuts down but then it turns on again and then shuts down we really didn't sleep very well at all so hopefully this is constructive criticism for the management

Outdated and noisy our room was right by the highway yet there seemed to be plenty of vacancies away from road not very secure deadbolt did not function. Water issues workers onsite attempting repairs.TV issues with no instructions

Very comfortable and clean room, no problems with A/C or shower. I'm impressed that they enabled guest access accounts enabled on the Roku Tv. Only thing missing for me was a small desk to work on, only a small nightstand adjacent to the bed. Reasonable walkability to downtown although somewhat of an uphill climb. Very good value for the price.

Very pleasant room with nice appointments: microwave, under counter fridge, single cup coffee maker, and a large tv, prominent recycling bin - some places don’t have those anywhere. It would have been nice to have a second chair, even a basic straight chair, because it was a chilly night. Easy walk to downtown, which was helpful. I had one of The Best Showers of the last several years. Hot, with excellent water pressure, and easy to use controls. This may seem basic but it truly was an exceptional shower!

Absolutely horrible! Today Governor Cooper issued a State of Emergency due to hazardous weather conditions and we could not make our trip from Apex to the mountains, because the Tweetsie Railroad ride this evening was canceled for that SAME reason. We had every intention of going to this hotel and yet now they are absolutely refusing to give us our money back for just one night, even though we cannot go due to weather safety reasons and not by choice. State of Emergency is issued for the whole state, other activities are canceled and gave us a refund but this hotel cannot accommodate a refund???!!! Do NOT deal with this business. The manager Sam is unreasonable and very rude.

I had an initial complaint about the cleanliness of the floor which I shared to hotels.com on the check in survey. The next morning I had a call from the hotel about my feedback and they came right away to teclean my floor. I was impressed with the response of both hotels.com and Boxwood lodge. Really liked the location - Very walkable to town with multiple restaurants and shops. The rooms are large and comfortable. Loved being able to have the window open. I would stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I checked in and my smoke detector was beeping. He replaced battery right away. He stuck around awhile to make sure all ok. Still had issues and ended up having to replace the detector. Everything else was great. Great location. Close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Comfortable bed. My room faced the road but was not noisy.

A nice quiet little motel near shopping and dining. It’s a very convenient walk to the shopping and dining on Main Street. It’s less than a 10 minute walk to Mellow Mushroom.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful which I really appreciated. All the rooms have rocking chairs of them which is nice for relaxing when the weather is nice.

We have stayed at Boxwood Lodge several times over the past two years. Love the location, walkable to town. Rooms are very nice. Nothing extravagant, just clean and comfortable. Bathrooms could use an upgrade. But are totally fine for a night or two. Staff is very friendly

The place was very nice. It does not look like the picture to the left. The gentleman at the check it was very friendly and knowledgeable. He let us check in early then we came back for our room key. The room was clean. The area was quiet.

The only positive thing about this place is the location. Walkable to town, shops, cafes. We arrived late because of a skiing day. Upon arrival, there was no shower curtain and several bulbs out in the room and over the sink, and the TV remote batteries were dead. The paint and walls in the bathroom were peeling with small nail holes visible. We called the office number where no one was available. So we called the after hours emergency number where they told us there was nothing they could do until the morning when staff arrived. After a day of skiing, we desperately needed showers before bed. What a disaster! We used all towels to clean the excess water. No one came in the morning to bring a shower curtain or more towels. After 3 calls throughout the day, we finally had to go to the office to track someone down. Very poor customer service. Not professionally dressed or handled. Had there been something else available on the holiday weekend, we would have left. No wonder it was fairly vacant when all the other quaint hotels were full. Do not recommend.

Boxwood Lodge was a comfortable and quiet stay, with easy walking access to downtown Blowing Rock, which was our main interest. The rocking chairs on the porch were great for enjoying the nice weather. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We have put our family members at this Hotel every year for the past 5 years. Everytime previously we have had zero trouble. This year was the first time this took an awful turn. They wouldn’t allow them to check in….they kept hassling them for at least as hour. They ended up canceling out reservation and making them check in with their credit card. Still charging for 2 nights when we only needed 1 night. Beware!!! So many better and friendly options in Blowing Rock.
