Wonderful two bedroom apartment with fully furnished kitchen. Just steps away from the water. Johann and his staff were friendly and incredibly accommodating. Johann called us to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay and even called to give us notice that the northern lights were visible outside! The village of Eyrarbakki was within a two hour drive of everything we wanted to visit on our trip to the south coast and I as far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city that we could unwind and enjoy the sights. We will definitely be returning to Iceland in the future and Bakki Apartments will be our base camp again for sure.

TV with netflix was a nice surprise. Laundry accessible for a fee and can only be completed by staff. Staff at reception available for limited hours only.

It’s a nice and spacious stay! You have your own entrance and you can park your car right in front of it. It’s near the beach. Would come back.

Lovely hostel, and a great place to stay! It has a big beautiful kitchen, and sitting area, lots of showers and bathrooms stalls too. Lovely clean room, and it had a small table, storage, and a sink. The front desk staff took a moment to tell me the history of the building, and showed me some photos which was really awesome. It was a great place to stay.

Very clean and well furnished room equipped with every comfort

Wow!! Such an amazing place to stay. It was only about 10/15 minutes drive outside of Selfoss. The area is very quiet and cute and the hotel is right up against the beach. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. We slept great because it was so quiet and dark. We were able to see the Northern Lights right outside our room! It was easy to speak to someone in the reception desk and we were overall very impressed. 10/10 would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Property was clean, but the water in the washroom and in the kitchen did not smell good - probably the sulfur smell which we did not get at other properties we stayed at. Better to stay in Selfoss as all facilities, grocery, coffee shops are in Selfoss.

Wir hatten das Economy Apartment. Die Aussicht von dem Zimmer und von der Terrasse ist purer Hohn: Befindet sich auf dem Hinterhof gegenüber eines verfallenden Lagers. Im Badezimmer Dusche mit völlig verschimmelter Silikonleiste. Ausstattung und Zimmergröße gut.

Very clean hotel with great service. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and the kitchen had all of the amenities to make breakfasts, dinners, and coffee/tea. It was very spatious and was nice to have separate living and sleeping areas. There were no blackout blinds which make sleeping difficult in the summer (all other hotels we stayed at in Iceland had them). The shower was also poorly designed and flooded the entire bathroom. There was mold and a smell in the shower area from it being so wet all the time. While the room itself was overall good, there were some very rundown warehouse buildings attached to the hotel that made the atmosphere feel a bit uncomfortable.

Wir hatten das Apartment zum Innenhof für eine Nacht. Entscheidung fiel auf diese Unterkunft da der Preis im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in der Umgebung in Ordnung war und die Lage für unseren Ausgangspunkt passend war. Für eine Nacht vermutlich ok. In der Umgebung gibt es quasi nichts. Positiv: Größe des Apartments ausreichend groß und gut ausgestattet. Das Sofa war bereits zum schlafen vorbereitet (hatten wir sonst bei einer anderen Unterkunft nicht so). Für eine Übernachtung gut. Negativ: Das Badezimmer fanden wir nicht so ansprechend, Waschbeckenabfluss roch nicht gut, der Boden in der Dusche ist schon ziemlich gelb und matschig, die Armatur am Waschbecken war nicht mehr so gut befestigt, keine Lüftung, Badezimmer nach dem Duschen voll mit Wasser. Eingangstüre und die Fenster verschimmelt. Zwei Tage davor hat es in der Umgebung stark geschneit. der Eingang zum Apartment wurde minimalistisch freigemacht, sodass ein Mensch sich durch den Schneematsch zwar durchkämpfen konnte, für die Koffer mussten wir jedoch den Weg selber "befreien" - der ganze Schnee lag dann im Apartment. Der Check-In wurde durch einen offenbar neuen Mitarbeiter in Ausbildung vorgenommen. Dieser wirkte eingeschüchtert und beängstigt und der Umgang der Chefin oder Besitzerin zu ihm war nicht so gut. Er tat uns leid, als unser Türschloss klemmte und er sich nicht auskannte und die Dame dies regeln musste. Um die Herdplatte herum liegen Essensreste seit vermutlich jeher.

Big apartment, bathroom and comfortable beds. Spacious and comes with a fully equiped kitchen. We had the room upstairs at the corner. Parking right in front of the building. Good WiFi signal. Quiet. Stayed overnight on the Ring Road circuit.

We stayed in one of the apartments. Great location, very clean. One issue, the bedroom windows looked out into a warehouse, so no ventilation and were very warm. Also, the lights were left on in the warehouse all night, and window coverings did not block the light.

Likes- spacious, clean, big open kitchen area, dishwasher, microwave, big towels, warm bedding, modern, 2 TV’s. Nice space for a family. Next to sea. Would stay again. We stayed at the end apartment and there was some renovations of sort going on next to the main bedroom window, bright light on all night, which interfere with sleep as room not dark enough. Coffee machine was faulty and spewed coffee everywhere.

The room was nice with comfortable beds and a streaming capable TV. We liked that it had a refrigerator and small kitchenette along with a table to eat at. The outside of the building could use some upkeep, but the rooms were updated and nice.

Staff is nice with clear details sharing. The room/apartment is enormous which is definitely enough room for more than 4 people to stay.

This place would be great if the shower head worked. (The overhead part would not switch on and the handle part would not stay affixed.) The other very unpleasant experience was the lack of privacy and light intrusion sure to the door being only partially frosted. I did not feel comfortable being undressed in my own room because anyone could easily glance in the room. The light just outside the door relatives lot, and there was no option to turn it off, so I had difficulty sleeping.

Very poor air ventilation. Very hot in the apartment. Have to open the door for the whole night to lower the temperature.

L'extérieur ne donne pas envie mais l'intérieur est correct, avec l'équipement necessaire. Porte d'entrée vitrée donnant sur le parking, un rideau aurait été utile au moins pour couper la lumiere la nuit et éviter que tout le monde ait vue sur l'ensemble du logement.

Exterior is misleading, interior is modern and clean, well-maintained. The studio apartment was perfect for our overnight stay.

Outstanding apartment! Simple and elegant, fully equiped, large bathroom, nice diming table and just right next to the beach! The staff (Johann) was really welcoming and explained a lot about the history of the village, which is a pearl: quiet, nice typical architecture, smiling inhabitants: the kind of place you leave altrady plannibgctovrwturn! The apartment was great. Lots of room, decent sized appliances, tonnes of closet space. Probably ideal for a long term stay or if you have a large family. The only knock on the space was that the bathroom could probably use an upgrade. Communication with the hotel was poor however and the office is never open, even during listed hours. We attempted to contact them using email/contact us link numerous times but they did not respond. Just had to check the office multiple times every day to eventually get lucky. Really nice people but they need to be around a little more even in the off season. I suspect high season may have been better. It is a great apartment though in a quiet little town just a short drive from lots of activities (geysir, Thingvellir, Selfoss, Lava tunnel, horseback riding, etc).

The location was perfect -- near a beach/bay, in a sweet village, close to a picturesque town with a grocery store and food (but far enough away for northern lights viewing), near a few horse stables, near the Golden Circle, and great for a day-trip to Vik! The bed was super comfy, and the owners were SO NICE! Great value. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! :)

I was there for two nights, and could have quite easily stayed longer. The staff were amazing, even after checkout I was able to stay and do some work and make a drink etc. I will definitely be back

We did not expect to check in late in the evening (11pm...). Nobody was at the front desk at this hour and we were unable to phone the number. We were on the curb feeling a bit hopeless! We rang a bell and 10 minutes later the owner came to our rescue. All was good in the end and the owner was very kind, but it was a stressful 10 minutes! Little family business in a small village. The owner wants to create something good for his community.

Empfang wäre schön gewesen. Haben niemanden bei An- und Abreise gesehen. Es bestand nur per Telefon Kontakt.

We ran a little bit behind the time and so worry about not able to check in after 9pm, because several attempts of calling all failed. Feel so thankful for the staff who is staying over to check us in.

Cute quiet little village right on the water, the outside is misleading but the interior was one of the nicest places we stayed on our trip.

The hotel is about 15 minutes from Selfoss, right next to the shore, and in a small charming town. Will definitely stay here again.

The accommodation appears to be newly constructed and very good. However, the hotel says it has a restaraunt & Bar, but it does not have it on site, they affiliate with a restaraunt down the road. False advertising to get you in.

We hebben 12 dagen in appartement Bakki gezeten. Van hieruit de zuidkust van Ijsland bezocht. Een mooi appartement, met alles wat je nodig hebt, incl handdoeken en beddengoed, om de dag wisselden we de handdoeken om voor schone. Volledige keuken incl vaatwasser en kookgelegenheid wat ideaal was. Een prima plek om te verblijven, vooral gezien de prijs.

Wonderful, accommodating host, meal at red house restaurant associated with the hotel was outstanding - worth a visit in itself.

Nous avons réservé l’appartement situé dans le bâtiment le long de la route. L’appartement est spacieux avec une grande pièce avec la cuisine très bien équipée ( évier, frigo, plaques de cuisson, four, lave vaisselle…) table, chaises, le canapé et la télévision et 2 lits simples , une chambre avec un lit 2 places et une grande salle de bain. Les lits sont confortables. Il y a un grand parking et de quoi se garer dans la rue. Le coin est calme. Il y a un restaurant à proximité où se restaurer. Seul bémol, ils ne proposent pas le petit déjeuner, prévoyez en avance. L’établissement est proche de l’océan.

We stayed in the studio apartment. The location was perfect. You can easily walk the beach or around town. The town is so cute. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make a nice meal. The bed was comfortable. Would stay here again.

Accueil chaleureux et chambre très pratique avec tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner simplement. Bon café et bons thés à disposition. Très bon rapport qualité prix pour l’Islande et proximité de nombreux sites interessants.

We stayed at one night for 4 people,the house had three beds , spacious and it had all the stuff at the kitchen to prepare breakfast or drink coffee in the morning. nice place . I called couple of times at the front desk and they helped us to find the place and helped us few questions during our stay . Overall excellent stay.
