It was a great hotel location is very convenient. Walking distance to port and restaurants. Yes the check-in and breakfast are done in another hotel you have to walk around the block is no shortcut do not try to skimp is not going to help. Personally I did not have a problem with this. The breakfast is perfect cannot ask for better. The rooms are bright clean with all you need to cook if this is what you want coffe tea salt peper. The personal is very helpful we arrived earlier and they had a room to leave our luggage's and the check-in was a breeze.

This apartment was incredibly spacious and very reasonably priced for an excellent value. It was well-located within walking distance of the main drag of shops and cafes. Very well-appointed with kitchen items which makes staying in for dinner easy and convenient. We were really happy with this room and wish we had longer to stay.

Once you work out how the radiators work, comfortable room/studio, well equiped, good breakfast with a fantastic view in the nearby hotel. It is a bit of a struggle with the suitcases and the check-in in a nearby hotel, but not a deal breaker. Special thanks to Angie at the front desk for all the help.

DANGEROUS WINTER CONDITIONS, NO HELP FROM STAFF — TRAVELERS BE WARNED Check-in = A Safety Hazard Hotel check-in is at Gobernador Félix Paz 868, but the actual rooms are located at Gobernador DeLoqui 849, which is a 600-ft walk downhill. Yes, this is noted in the booking — but what they fail to mention is the condition of the path, especially in winter. We were asked to haul our 25kg bags down a steep, icy slope in the dark, with broken pavement, uneven stairs, If you are traveling with injuries, disabilities, older adults, or even just a large suitcase — this setup is not safe. And the hotel should be more transparent and prepared to assist. Plus we had a waterfall leak above us that flooded our bathroom. The irony? Hotel staff could walk over from the check-in building to inspect the flood and bring towels — but apparently, not when guests needed help checking in safely. That double standard really says it all. We reached out to Expedia for support and spoke with Omar, who was empathetic, professional, and actually cared about our safety. Huge thanks to him — he did what the hotel should have.

We had a brilliant stay at La vela. Everything was great: easy check in, huge apartment which was clean and comfy with everything you need, great location close to buses and town. We would recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to stay, we wish we had longer!

The apartment is very nice, clean and well furnished and the bed is so comfortable. We stayed at the 5th floor and we had such an amazing view from each part of the apartment. Everything was just perfect! The all staff is excellent, in particular I want to thank Angie from the reception: she has been so kind, she took care of us during all our stay ensuring everything was ok. We will for sure come back again to Departamentos La Vela. Muchas gracias por todo!

A sweet smallish boutique type hotel in a great location. Easy to walk to the heart of town and restaurants. The staff is excellent, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is adequate and very predictable. We stayed in one of the apartments. Comfortable but not facncy space. The bathroom was a tight space and both the sink and shower faucets were funky, fluctuating between extremely hot and cold water. If you are not looking for a five star hotel experience this hotel may be well-suited for you.

The hotel is vary cute and charming. We stayed in the adjacent apartments that were around the corner but part of the property. As a result we felt a bit disconnected from the main property having to go outside and walk around the block for breakfast or to interact with their very helpful staff. Our apartment was adequately comfortable with minimal attention to decor. The hot water in the bathroom varied unpredictably from burning hot to cool. On the plus side, it's located in a very walkable area making it easy to access restaurants, shopping and sites.

Modern and well-equipped apartment in the heart of Ushuahia. The bathroom can be tight and there is not a lot of space to move around or arrange toiletries. There is a dance studio next door and sometimes the music is loud well into the evening, with little to no soundproofing in the building. Other than this, it was a very enjoyable stay!

Great place. Clean, great location, spacious. The location is in a busy street so it is a little loud, but I was so tired every day that I was able to sleep throughout the night. The kitchen was a great idea because most coffee shops open around 9 and the tours usually pick you up around 8. Highly recommended to stay a few days in Ushuaia!

The apartment is great. The checkin is a long way from your apartment. You have to navigate steps and steep inclines to get to the entrance. Codes worked great for the building but not the apartment. So you hike back to check in to get a lock reset. It is ok if you have two or more people but with one you need to carry bags back and forth. I really like the place yet they need to simplify the check in process. Hopefully is better for those regularly using WhatsApp. Consider getting it if you don’t have it!

The apartment is very nice, clean and well furnished and the bed is so comfortable. We stayed at the 5th floor and we had such an amazing view from each part of the apartment. Everything was just perfect! The all staff is excellent, in particular I want to thank Angie from the reception: she has been so kind, she took care of us during all our stay ensuring everything was ok. We will for sure come back again to Departamentos La Vela. Muchas gracias por todo!

If you want a comfortable stay in Ushuaia, absolutely avoid this hotel. On the very first day, the hair dryer was broken. When I turned it on, it started to smell like burning smoke, which was honestly frightening. I reported it and was told they would bring a new one the next day. That didn’t help at all, since my hair was already soaking wet. I had no choice but to go to bed without drying it. The next day, when I returned to the hotel around 4:00 PM, I was told that my key card didn’t work and I couldn’t enter my room. I contacted the staff, and they said they would unlock the door remotely and asked me to wait. I waited, but the door never opened. When I contacted them again, they said someone would bring a key and told me to wait again. About 30 minutes later, the key finally arrived. Not being able to enter your own room when you want to is incredibly inconvenient, and to make things worse, there wasn’t even a single apology. When I tried to express my frustration, I was ignored and instead asked what time I would be checking out. Finally, although there is a stove in the room, it doesn’t work properly. Technically, you can light it using a lighter, but the flame goes out the moment you release the ignition button, so you have to keep holding it down the entire time. No one would want to use a stove like that. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Yes, this is noted in the booking — but what they fail to mention is the condition of the path, especially in winter. We were asked to haul our 25kg bags down a steep, icy slope in the dark, with broken pavement, uneven stairs, If you are traveling with injuries, disabilities, older adults, or even just a large suitcase — this setup is not safe. And the hotel should be more transparent and prepared to assist. Plus we had a waterfall leak above us that flooded our bathroom. The irony? Hotel staff could walk over from the check-in building to inspect the flood and bring towels — but apparently, not when guests needed help checking in safely. That double standard really says it all. It was a great hotel location is very convenient. Walking distance to port and restaurants. Yes the check-in and breakfast are done in another hotel you have to walk around the block is no shortcut do not try to skimp is not going to help. Personally I did not have a problem with this. The breakfast is perfect cannot ask for better. The rooms are bright clean with all you need to cook if this is what you want coffe tea salt peper. The personal is very helpful we arrived earlier and they had a room to leave our luggage's and the check-in was a breeze.

We had a brilliant stay at La vela. Everything was great: easy check in, huge apartment which was clean and comfy with everything you need, great location close to buses and town. We would recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to stay, we wish we had longer!

Modern and well-equipped apartment in the heart of Ushuahia. The bathroom can be tight and there is not a lot of space to move around or arrange toiletries. There is a dance studio next door and sometimes the music is loud well into the evening, with little to no soundproofing in the building. Other than this, it was a very enjoyable stay!

The staff is very helpful. They will help you store luggage or get taxis if needed. I hope they consider providing washcloths, one additional pillow per bed, and a fan to cool the room. The curtains stop you from keeping the window open and blocking the light at the same time. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but there must be a bar nearby that let out around 2:30 AM with shouting and singing guests. We love a party as much as anyone, but it was tough to sleep for a few hours. Breakfast is good, and location is convenient to main attractions. Our view was also spectacular. Overall a reasonable place to stay for the price.

Great place. Clean, great location, spacious. The location is in a busy street so it is a little loud, but I was so tired every day that I was able to sleep throughout the night. The kitchen was a great idea because most coffee shops open around 9 and the tours usually pick you up around 8. Highly recommended to stay a few days in Ushuaia!

Boa estadia. Mas creio que teria sido melhor ficar no Hotel Alto Andino que é o proprietário do apartamento em que ficamos em um outro prédio. Infelizmente o hotel estava lotado naqueles dias. Tomamos café todos os dias no Hotel Alto Andino.

For breakfast: the kitchenware is just fine. For dinner: the kitchenware is insufficient; only one pan and a fryingpan. The shower is great and the view from 3B is excellent. The bed is comfy. Last night we had a lot of wind and the window was blown open twice.
