We liked the price of the room and the privacy. We didn't like how the property was separated and we had to walk on the road to get to the pool and restaurant. The restaurant prices were ridiculously high so we only ate the included breakfast and ate somewhere else for other meals. Outside space around the hotel was very small.

The entire Heaven Boutique staff, including hotel, restaurant and resort staff, were absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, the staff were attentive, courteous and professional. It is clear they take pride in their work! They are the best hotel and restaurant staff l've ever experienced. That is no exaggeration. The hotel and surrounding grounds were clean and well-cultivated. The restaurant served quality, tasty food, both breakfast and dinner. And the spa staff and services were great. I want to thank Nina, Yvette, Derrick, Lionel, Lawrence, Mavis, Happiness, Fatuma, Josiane, Junior, and all the others whose names I'm sorry l've forgotten for a truly fun and memorable stay. We hope to return. You are the best!

Love this hotel, they think of everything from body lotion and shampoo in the bedrooms that smells amazing, a beautiful pool, two fantastic bars and restaurants, beautiful decor, turn down the bed at night, fresh coffee, biscuits, tea & water in the rooms. Can’t wait to go back in a few days after our gorilla expedition. The staff are exceptional too.

Everything is great except how spread out the property is. You sleep in one building, eat in another, work out in a 3rd. That said, all that means is that you plan your time.

Great setting with greenery all around. Lots of security 24/7. Gym, bar lovely. Nothing close to walking to as of shopping though.

This is a lovely boutique hotel. We stayed in a budget king room which was just lovely. We loved coming home at the end of the day to a sparkling clean room with the bed crisply made and the mosquito netting tied up and draped like a queens bed in a fairytale. There are modern amenities that Americans often expect like a hairdryer, a nice TV that we never used, a fridge, a coffee and tea station and filtered water. The pool is solar heated and not too cold even in winter (December). The landscaping around the pool is gorgeous and well maintained. The rooms come with a copy of the owner's book telling the story of how they arrived in Rwanda 15 years ago. I have not finished it yet, but you will also get a history lesson when reading. As noted on the website it is a hospitality training center and the staff is so attentive! Two highly rated restaurants adjoin the hotel (actually on two properties up the road), one serving more traditional fare and one more high end international fare. I love how entrepreneurial the owners Josh and Alissa are and how they are helping to build Rwanda. They are part of the story of justice, forgiveness, and hope that is modern Rwanda. I hope more folks travel to this beautiful, safe, and welcoming country

Heaven Restaurant and Hotel is an incredible gem! Not only is it very reasonably priced you have access to the entire Heaven campus which includes two beautiful and amazing restaurants including the one on The Retreat property next door, which also has high end accommodations. Two lovely pools, a yoga facility, wonderful local art, and a staff that is engaging and helpful.

There is 2 properties for this hotel. The Boutique & standard hotel. We stayed in the standard. It is very safe with security 24 hours. The staff are very helpful and can arrange anything. The rooms a clean, heaps of storage, goid ensuite and comfy netted bed with A/C. Decor is dated. Free WiFi and great breakfast. They have a excellent pool and offer gym, yoga and free massage. They can arrange tours and transport. There are bars and restaurants within 15 minutes walking of hotel. We found it safe as the area seemed business like. We walked to a great restaurant called The Bistro. This Kiyovu district has a mall with shops and is a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

We had a wonderful and unforgettable stay in what is probably one of the most beautiful hotel complexes in Kigali in an excellent location. Special mention must be made of the extremely friendly and thorough cleaning staff and the attentive and consistently helpful restaurant staff. We enjoyed the breakfast to the full, it was incredibly tasty! The rooms were cleaned twice a day, fresh drinking water was topped up regularly, and at the end there were great surprises such as a fruit basket, a handwritten card and more. A super sweet idea that we were very happy about. A gym that left nothing to be desired, two great pools and an extremely tasteful design rounded off the whole thing. Thanks to the Heaven Boutique Hotel & Restaurant, we had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful country and will definitely recommend the hotel complex to others. And all this at an absolutely fair price.

Excellent breakfast, clean facilities, and easy check in.

The staff and restaurant were great. Having been there a few years prior, I saw the decline in the upkeep of the room--especially the bathroom. Although we did not stay on the retreat side of the campus, I think we still deserved a room that did not have European hair all over the place and a mold-free bathroom. Even after asking for a deep clean, the shower was left in the same condition.

A lovely oasis in Kigali, rooms were good sized and clean with very good bathrooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food at Heaven and Fusion were excellent. I would return.

The Heaven Boutique Hotel is beautiful, the staff is outstanding! They provided excellent service and were so welcoming. The room was very clean and the restaurant has delicious food in a wonderful and calm location, with trees and flowers, a few walking distance steps from the bedrooms area. Absolutely loved the charm of this hotel! Everything was easy from check in to check out. Immaculate facilities! Great spa- great massages. The food was delicious. Especially breakfast! I would absolutely stay here again! Lots history too with the family. Check out A Thousand Hills to Heaven.

But….Turn down service is inconsistent- I got nothing for two nights and then service on the last night (but only because I asked ) holes in the mosquito net- television was broken- Was fixed on the third night. Heaven can do better than this. This is my fifth stay - I love the breakfast and breakfast service but each stay has been blighted by inconsistency’s in the rooms.

Room has everything you need. It is kept very clean. Nice pool. Restaurants close by, nice food good staff service but expensive. Small improvements. New hairdryer needed, cut out every minute of use, noisy fridge in room. The previous person turned it off so it was full of water. The bed was quite hard, but ok. We upgraded from a budget room, not much better.

Appreciate the breakfast and the pool. The room was tiny without chair neither table , and the view out the window was a wall with heating systems beside.

Den äldre delen av hotellet behöver repareras på utsidan. Trasig grind ingång etc kändes lite osäker jämfört m resten av hotellet . Rummet stördes också av trafiken. Resterande del på hotellet mycket bra och fantastisk service.

Rummet var litet med utsikt mot en mur. Fanns begränsat med plats att sitta ute. Restaurangen var bra och servicen genomgående vänlig.

I only stayed one night but wished I’d stayed more. Staff at check-in were exceptionally friendly and helped with my inquiries. My room was quiet and very large, a rarity these days. I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.

Great location in a safe, clean, leafy green, quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the Central Business District of Kigali. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the huge buffet breakfast in the lush garden setting is wonderful. I ate dinner at the restaurant at least 4 times while in Kigali, and each night it was very nice, with wonderful menu choices, attentive staff and a relaxing dining atmosphere. My room in the 4-star hotel was nice for one person, but would probably be very tight for 2 people. I liked the balcony, high ceilings, and colorful African decor. There was a mosquito in my room, which was a bit strange, but there is mosquito netting over the bed, which was nice. My only input is that it would be nice if the property had a free shuttle service to and from the airport. The price they charge for this is outrageous given the distance involved -- even by American standards -- and I chose to find another way. But many of their competitor hotels offer if, and I doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to step up and match the competition. FWIW, I nearly chose another hotel because of this detail.

The staff is excellent. The room was very tiny and the bright light outside made it difficult to sleep at night.

This is a very lovely hotel. I stayed there a couple of days, left for a couple of days and came back again. The room I had in the newer part of the hotel. The first time was absolutely lovely. The service is great and they have a nice pool and it’s a good location. It’s also a few steps away from a very very nice restaurant so that’s very convenient. But the room I had when I came back was an older part of the hotel, and it just wasn’t as nice. It wasn’t terrible, but it was much older and smaller and less light and airy.

Wonderful, dedicated staff; Comfortable spacious, clean rooms, and excellent restaurant. This is my second time staying and I plan to come back.

Excellent stay. Did not expect that it would be so nice. Everyone in the hotel goes above and beyond making sure everything is fine. Everyone is extremely nice! I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful experience

The property was beautiful! So close to city center but you would never know it as it is built in the landscape and looks like a private tropical retreat The staff could not do enough for you and very notable that they cared about every experience The food was spectacular. We had breakfast lunch and dinner there. Our group did the wine pairing 6 course dinner. Do not miss this but skip lunch and go hungry. The meal and wine selection was to perfection. The bartender complimented each portion of the meal with a beautiful description of each wine with its origin! Just amazing! I highly recommend the seamstress to make you or a loved one something special. I had them make my son a shirt and I just showed her a picture of him!! It was a perfect fit. So special! We also had our laundry done and I would highly recommend that if you have a lengthier stay A few things that could improve - outside our boutique room 108 early morning was the employees starting their day just gathering and talking but woke us up. They were doing nothing wrong and unaware of their conversation waking us It was also the spot if some power washing cars and whatever other items and that started at 6 am. The evening receptionist caused confusion ever transaction. She actually forgot to check us out and called us and asked us to turn around and come back. If you know the traffic to airport in Kigali you will know that is not a request to be making. She needs more guidance as she is in training Great stay!

Great stay from beginning to end. Very relaxed and upscale vibe. Quiet, many places to meet or meditate… always helpful and discreet service. Special shout out to Marius and Honorine for their attentive care throughout my 2 week stay. See you again in July!

I think we had a member of staff at the reception who was not at all helpful. The booking for messages was nonexistent even 1week in advance.We one person eventually managed to get a booking interrupted several times and also noticed that the staff doing the messages were sitting ideal and chatting despite us being told they are all fully booked with no break.

The Heaven Hotel is an oasis of calm in Kigali. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was nicely appointed and quiet which was great after flying for > 24 hours. Dinner at Fusion was outstanding and the included breakfast was great including an omelet bar. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay here our next time in Kigali. I also recommend reading Josh Ruxin's book A Thousand Hills to Heaven - a memoir about how the restaurant and hotel started.

However, the dining experience at the restaurant was underwhelming, contrasting with its previously acclaimed reputation as a premier culinary destination in Kigali. The quality and flavor profiles have noticeably declined, prompting the need to seek alternative dining options.

Dinner at Fusion Restaurant was FANTASTIC

A great deal for the price!!! Has everything you need and if you need help with any accomdations for your activities .. they can set it up. Hotel is amazing!! My only complaint is that the price to dine in is really expensive. Even a simple coffee, red bull energy drink, or milkshake is 3 times more expensive that what you can get in the city.

Friendly & helpful staff, high-quality dining, great amenities & reasonably-priced. Really enjoyed my stay & would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
