There are very few hotel/motels in the area. The room was fine and the location okay, but there could have been a few things done to up-keep the property: the grass around the facility sign was overgrown and the property just had a bit of "unkemptness" to it...

The place is old and beatup. Very low end. Odd smells. Bathroom corners were very dirty. Neighborhood was fine. Tables, microwave, closet shelf, very beat up and rusty. 50 cent eyelet and hook security on door. Bathroom fan did not work. Warped plastic floor. Paid $131. More like $45 quailty. The room did have a level of neatness to a point. Office was disgustingly dirty and messy.

This is a nice quiet motel in a very small community. The owner went out of his way to ensure we had a great stay. Offered suggestions for dining, offered to help with luggage, and ensured we were comfortable. The rooms are very dated, but the friendliness and kindness of the owner more than makes up for it! AC was cold, fridge was great to have, and the bed and pillows were absolutely perfect! Keurig coffee in the lobby with fresh creamer was always available, which was a wonderful amenity! Just a short 30 minute drive to Letchworth State Park (Grand Canyon of the East) is a must do! Kudos to the owner, he is a real gem!!

Lodge was "quaint", older style, but clean and comfortable. It was a quiet, pleasant stay. Gentleman at front desk was super accommodating when I needed a downstairs room. Only complaint was the terrible parking lot. Take your time over the potholes!

Not impressed with our stay at Chaffee Lodge. Upon walking into the facility, we were met with an unpleasant smell, possibly old stale cigarette smell throughout the building. The manager was pleasant and walked us to our room. At first glance, it's a room, but shocked to see an exterior door to the parking lot in the room across from the bed. The bedding was mismatched which would have been ok, but the linens were stained, and I don't think they were laundered from the last tenant. Our room did not look like anything on the website. My husband found stale bread crumbs on his side, and when he moved the nightstand to plug in his phone charger, there were candy wrappers and trash behind the stand. I won't even start with the hairy bathroom and the filthy light switch. Positive things, a microwave, a small refrigerator, a television, pricing, and blinds. We didn't mind that the decor looked like it was decorated from an auction. We did stay overnight, but would not book this motel again.

Dirty, hairs both human and animal in the sheets along with body fluid stains. Hairs and dust in corners and heater. Slept on top of covers. Could hear ALL activity and conversation through thin walls. I saw no sprinklers or posted emergency escape plan. Needs to be torn down, frankly.

Positives: The owner was very friendly and helpful. The size of the refrigerator was excellent. Everything else was disappointing. The room was dark, the tv shut off by itself, everything felt dirty. It was like walking into a guest room that was furnished by the Goodwill in the 1960’s. The florescent light in the bathroom stopped working on the second day. When we checked out early the owner asked if they had done anything wrong, I said we finished our trip early, which was true. I then told him about the tv and bathroom light. He said he that he would have left too. Once again, the owner was great but the hotel needs a lot of work. I have no idea how this hotel has a 8.5 rating.

The Manager was very accommodating for what I was looking for (1 night stay). He was also helpful with recommendations in the area. Had a very comfortable king size bed and normal room features.On my short stay, the bathroom is the only thing that needs updating. -can't lock it from the inside -shower took some time to manage (pretty old) It's definitely more of a lodge than a Motel, but had the comforts necessary for the wife & I. I just think I could have have spent less. -

Location was convenient for our travel needs. We were visiting waterfalls in Buffalo area earlier in the day, ended with the awesome eternal Flame Falls. Chaffee Inn. Was on our way to Letchworth State Park which was our main stop the following day. It would have been less $ if we booked directly thru the lodge, but the hotel didn't return our email or phone call soon enough so we booked thru Expedia instead. So if you can book direct it's a better deal.

Just be aware that the area rolls up the sidewalks and goes home by eight. Even on weekends, Even when their hours says 10 or later. Very difficult to find decent food during unavoidable late hours.
