Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a selection of ice cream flavors to help beat the heat a thoughtful touch that immediately showcased the hotel’s attention to detail. The room was spotless and beautifully maintained. Breakfast offered a wide variety of vegetarian options, and the F&B team was exceptionally attentive and welcoming. Stylish , modern and comfortable. The room is clean , the design feels fresh and the staff were friendly. Loved the rooftop pool and the views from the gravity bar . Great location close to malls, eateries and tourist spots. For me this hotel is perfect for business trips and work travel not really a resort style place.

Amazing hotel - real 5* level. The location is little bit far from the old town, but the transportation in Malaysia like Grab is cheap and convenient. Really nice rooftop bar and pool with the views of the city.

Overall we had a pleasant stay. The room was a good size and had an exceptional shower. However, cleanliness was not up to standard and it took multiple requests for basic cleaning to be done. The porter and front of house service at this hotel definitely has room for improvement and is far from 5*. The rooftop pool and bar are a highlight though, and the staff on the top floor are friendly.

The service at the reception was good. But the attitude from the cleaning staff was bad. One of the cleaning staff showed his anger while changing the bed sheets. After check in we discovered the bed sheets got stain. We requested to change the bed sheets. I had to made three times phone calls than the cleaning staff came to our room. While the cleaning staff changing the bed sheets, I saw blood stains on the mattress protector and the mattress! We felt so disgusted.

The Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon Malls are within 10 mins walking distance. So very convenient for shopping and many choices of eateries. Room is clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located between two large shopping malls and there are many restaurants nearby. It is good for short stay in Penang. However, the cleanliness of bedroom is not up to standard. The first night we arrived, we found that the blankets and pillow coats were stained. We went to the reception and they changed another room for us, but we found that the blankets were stained again some “glue materials” was noticed too. Then they changed another room in the higher floor. We made sure that the blankets were clean and accepted the arrangement. However, there were some black mould over the “grey-colored” bath towels, so we decided to use our own towels instead.
The hotel is located between two large shopping malls and there are many restaurants nearby. It is good for short stay in Penang. However, the cleanliness of bedroom is not up to standard. We had a very comfortable stay. Room was spacious and came with all amenities- toiletries and we appreciate the mineral water and feee soft drinks provided. Gym is opened 24 hours, and breakfast buffet spread was delicious, with option of having it at sister G Hotel at Gurney. Location of hotel is very convenient, next to 2 big malls- Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon mall and short walk to Gurney drive open air hawker centre. Also around 15 minutes to attractions such as Penang Hill, Armenian street.. Had a great stay with the excellent service, will be back!

Check in experience is the most important aspect of the whole stay experience but we meet with unfriendly front desk counter staff! During our stay we request for more drinking water but reply from the front desk is all room limited to max. 4 bottles per day ! Check in was nice and smooth and they actually give our ice cream, as you wait for that one minute of checking in. which is a Very good idea as the weather is hot outside. The concierge was great too, soon as our cab arrives they come and help with our luggage then delivered to our room. That was a great help. Room was nice and clear give a feeling of welcome. The fridge in the room have a sticker telling one that the drinks is on the house, lot of hotel don't have that. If one needs to choose a hotel in Penang this is one of the hotel I strongly recommend.

The fridge in the room have a sticker telling one that the drinks is on the house, lot of hotel don't have that. If one needs to choose a hotel in Penang this is one of the hotel I strongly recommend.

Right next to the gurney plaza which was very convenient. Staff are super friendly. Only downside is the location is far from all sightseeing areas if you want to walk everywhere. However driving distance is not bad.

Checking in was excellent. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast experience was bad from the usher to waiter. 1 man handled the egg station counter. 20 minutes was the fastest time for a person to get an order of eggs, provided you keep standing in line and waited for it. Broken coffee macine. Waiters gave a negative vibe towards the guests eating. Professionalism is almost non-existance at the breakfast dining area. Had to undergo this ordeal for 4 days.

We had a very comfortable stay. Room was spacious and came with all amenities- toiletries and we appreciate the mineral water and feee soft drinks provided. Gym is opened 24 hours, and breakfast buffet spread was delicious, with option of having it at sister G Hotel at Gurney. Location of hotel is very convenient, next to 2 big malls- Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon mall and short walk to Gurney drive open air hawker centre. Also around 15 minutes to attractions such as Penang Hill, Armenian street.. Had a great stay with the excellent service, will be back!

Rather busy during the period I was staying at the hotel. The pool has amazing view since it’s at 24th floor, highest floor of the hotel. Receptionists were helpful at many occasions. Breakfast selection was a little below expectations. Otherwise, good hotel.

Hotel is great and house keeping very good. The food and beverage is quite poor for the build of the hotel. The menu is tiny and not great. The drinks are quite poor. Also the staff are not attentive. Theres entire cafes with just no one in attendance at all. It is quite bizarre and they are clearly losing a decent share of money from this. If you went up to me when I was at the pool and asked if I wanted anything I would have, even from the limited menu. The cafe downstairs has never got any staff. If thats the case then just delete the cafe. It is far worse to have a bad, zero service cafe than it is to have a non existent one. Whoever is in charge of the F&B at the hotel really is doing an exemptionally poor job. The rest of the hotel is great. From the door staff to the housekeeping. But the F&B is actually a wonderful example of how not to do something.

I booked this hotel because Expedia said it is a 5 star property. Nothing could be further from the truth. The room was average; certainly not luxurious. The linens were low grade cotton and the towels were thin and similar to something you’d find at Marriott Courtyard. The soap, lotion and shampoo were also low quality and were locked down. The bathtub and shower were across the room from each other so if you wanted to use soap in the tub you had to move back and forth, or dispense soap into a cup and carry to the tub. Genius. The gym was disgusting. Equipment was covered in recently deposited sweat. And while attendants occasionally showed up in the gym; none of them ever cleaned a thing. They’d attend to paperwork and then leave. Meanwhile the equipment and floor was dirty and there was hair everywhere. All 3 days. I paid separately for breakfast. It was ridiculous. I know oatmeal is not necessarily a fan favorite but it should never have the consistency of a pond or a lake. This place never got the memo. While there was the customary piles of bacon and an omelette station, the fruit was sparse. I couldn’t get a banana two of the three days during my stay. Watermelon came with the rind, for free. I take the blame for this mess too. I should have stayed at the Eastern and Oriental but it was substantially more, and again, Expedia told me this place is a 5 Star. My fault for believing this B.S. I am reminded that you get what you pay for.

My husband and I stayed in G Hotel Kelawai for a total of 3 nights in the Premier Room, and we had a good experience overall. The staff were fantastic, and our gripes were to do with design features in the hotel which the service staff had little to no control over. Pros: - The room was very clean, and overall cleanliness in the public areas was great as well - The bathroom in the Premier Room was spacious and comfortable - Although we only had 2 canned drinks from the complimentary minibar, the free bottled water and anything complimentary is always appreciated. - The buffet breakfast selection on Level 2 was pretty good, covering western and Asian cuisines, as well as having a live station. Food options also changed from day to day. - Gravity, the rooftop bar, was great. Loved the light-up menus! Cons: - Whilst the curtains are of block-out fabric, there is a huge gap between the curtain and the frame of the window, so sunlight would stream into the room like a laser beam every morning and wake us up much earlier than we wanted to - The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were not. It took requests for 3 different types of pillows to finally land on a marginally acceptable one. (But Priya from Reservations was very nice about it) - We had the corner room but the walls were quite thin so we kept hearing the door slamming in the room next to ours. - For such a big bathroom, it would have been much better and more convenient to have double sinks, a
