Stunning view of the ocean from our balcony. Room was comfortable and enjoyed our private balcony. Restaurant on site provided excellent breakfast and we enjoyed some other meals there too. Fantastic staff! Pool area is somewhat small so a little challenging to find shade and could hear a little sound from other rooms at times. Overall enjoyed our stay very much!

We had an amazing stay at this charming boutique hotel just outside of Quepos close to the Manuel Antonio Park. It truly embodies a lovely Costa Rican vibe , with its vibrant mango-colored building and mango trees. Our room was on the top level where we could enjoy beautiful rainforest and ocean views and every morning, we could hear the thump thump thump of little feet on the roof and we knew to go outside to enjoy the monkeys, squirrel monkeys and white-faced monkeys right off our balcony with the distant sounds of howler monkeys adding to the experience. We were frequently treated to the sight of macaws , especially during happy hour, which was offered in the excellent restaurant where you could enjoy stunning sunset views and two-for-one drinks. One of the dinners we had was a delicious Korean barbecue cooked at our table and breakfast was exceptional, featuring made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruits, bread, and delicious juices and coffee. There’s a refreshing little pool where you can chill out after a day of touring and enjoy the sounds of the rain forest. The staff is super helpful and friendly and enhanced our stay. We spent five nights here and were so glad we chose this hotel as our home base.

We booked a superior room with ocean view and were not disappointed ! The room shares a little deck with the adjacent superior room and the view is so beautiful you will want to admire it all day long. A few negative points: we had dinner at the on site restaurant and the food wasn’t very good. Probably the least tasty meal we had during our 2 week trip in Costa Rica. The breakfast buffet was much better. Then, we had one small bag of laundry done (since the hotel listing mentions laundry services) and they charged us $20 for it !! For one laundry load ! That is the most expensive laundry I’ve had in my entire life.

The View was the reason we chose this hotel. Room was ok, very simple, Pool is mini and needs repair. Restaurant was amazing!!! Room form photos looks like it had a balcony however it is just a walkway that people pass in front of. The Door to the hotel room was a sliding glass door without a standard Handle and lock. For safety you had to leave your key in the lock while inside incase there was an emergency and you needed to exit quickly. It just made it complicated for one person to be inside with the door locked and another try to get back in. Love the Wildlife at the hotel!! Vultures, parrots and monkeys! The Hotel states it is walkable, however the street is very narrow and busy, didn't feel safe walking, Taxi fees added up.

Gorgeous view, the pool and pool area are wonderful, and the owners are very nice. The food is very tasty. We saw toucans, scarlet macaws, and had a visit from a squirrel monkey. The location is very close to the beach, shopping, and town.

Wonderful family operation, friendly, helpful staff, amazing view with lots of wildlife surrounding the hotel. From our door we spotted toucans, macaws, agouti, three types of monkeys, to mention a few. The owner is warm and welcoming. There is a delightful pool overlooking the jungle and ocean. We can’t imagine a lovelier place to stay. It is also very convenient to stores, a very natural beach, and restaurants. There is also a great highly rated Korean style restaurant on premises.

This property is located close to the beaches, food and shops. Staff was friendly and helpful, some wildlife was present, view was great from above but would suggest cutting some trees down so that you could see the ocean better. Pool was not heated which was disappointing as we would have used it if it was not so cold. Room had a great view and food was ok. A bit pricey for what they offered but there are great restaurants not far from the property. We opted to go out and eat. The beach is about a .5 miles roughly and it would be a steep walk down and up a hill but if you have a car it is no problem. Beaches here are beautiful and do not disappoint.

The owner is on site and very helpful. The property has amazing views of the jungle with the ocean in the backgeound, visible from I believe every room. The on site restaurant has Korean and American food, a happy hour, and a very good buffet breakfast, with a gal ready to make you an omlette. The rooms, garden and pool areas could use a bit more TLC and I believe the owner is working toward that. For a 2 night stay it met our needs, but any longer and we would have needed a larger room. Our bathroom needed some shelf space at least to put your toothbrush on 😁 as an example. There are monkeys that come through to raid the mango tree, very fun to watch and a few took some banana pieces from me. Very fun!!

The negatives far outweigh the only positive which was free breakfast. It was the noisiest property I’ve stayed in with trucks and motorcycles rumbling from sun up until midnight. Hot water was an issue due to a breaker tripping 3 times in 2 days. The pool was closed due to maintenance There wasn’t a hair dryer in the room. The room definitely was not worth the high price I paid - $220 per night

Mango Moon is a property that has a beautiful view of the ocean. The wildlife around is amazing! We saw up close multiple groups of different monkeys, beautiful birds including scarlet macaws, agoutis and more. The chef was not there during our stay so our dining options were limited. The property is a little older but clean. The staff are very accommodating. The location is close to the park as well as a small supermarket, restaurants and shops.

Clean and safe, but in need of some attention to upkeep. Loved that the restaurant had Korean options (even if it seemed overpriced). Loved the view (with a sunset view in February) and location - monkey visits every day! I would stay again just for this. Breakfast was very good.

Great location near restaurants and Manuel Antonio. The view from the buffet/restaurant is incredible. Breakfast buffet was standard - some local fruits, omelet station, toast and jam, beans and rice and eggs, fresh juices, granola, yogurt, whole apples, a cake pastry, coffee and tea. We had a room in the main building, and it was awful. The bed is hard as a rock. The air conditioner leaks substantially so the floor would puddle with water. They changed out the towels for us several times, but there was nothing else they could do with it. There is mold on the wall beneath the AC and in the shower. The windows are not fully sealed so you hear everything - any traffic outside the window, families eating breakfast on the floor below you, and some bugs get in as well. The rainy day was so loud due to the rain hitting the roof we woke up extremely early. I also asked for a hair dryer to prep for a nice dinner and the first one was melted/didn't work. The second one barely got hot. The restaurant had decent food, korean bbq is one of my favorites so we were excited to eat the "authentic" meal that everyone recommended. We were underwhelmed overall, honestly, and it was very expensive ($90 for a very small portion of galbi, bulgogi, rice and a couple veggies/kimchi, and a scallion pancake.) However, during Happy Hour the next day, the bartender made us Pina Coladas and they were the best I've ever had. Also loved the Mango Moon special - a spicy marg type thing. 2 for one!

Det absolut bästa är den fantastiska personalen som är sååå vänliga och hjälpsamma på alla sätt och vis. Dessutom är det fantastisk frukost varje dag och goda middagar. Fridfullt och mycket fin utsikt. Det enda som behöver förbättras är handfatskranarna och lite bättre städning av området utomhus runt poolen. Jag kan varmt rekommendera detta trevliga lilla familjeföretag!!

Very nice, unique hotel with an amazing view and an absolutely wonderful staff. The only downside was that the room was musty when we first arrived and required airing out. As well the plumbing requires attention as the water pressure is very low and the temperature can get very hot. I would worry for the safety of younger children. Besides that, the staff and the view makes this place an A+ stay.

Great location within walking distance to restaurants. The view was incredible from the place. The standard room was spacious however did lack in some outlets near the bed. We very much enjoyed our stay here!
Great location within walking distance to restaurants. The view was incredible from the place. The standard room was spacious however did lack in some outlets near the bed. We very much enjoyed our stay here!

Stunning view of the ocean from our balcony. Room was comfortable and enjoyed our private balcony. Restaurant on site provided excellent breakfast and we enjoyed some other meals there too. Fantastic staff! Pool area is somewhat small so a little challenging to find shade and could hear a little sound from other rooms at times. Overall enjoyed our stay very much!

What an awesome hotel. It may be a 3 stars hotel, but the view, the pool, the people, the breakfast was awesome. We had (me and my girlfriend) the superior room with a private balcony. All the room was filled with windows, where we saw monkeys, birds and a huge fantastic storm. Thanks for everything, our trip was awesome and the price was the best in Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

Wonderful staff..great view..nice breakfast...the end. My VIP room had no wifi, no tv reception, very hard bed, no chair, no table,no promised food discount and the road to get there is the worst I've seen but it has a nice view and great staff.

This place was great. Monkeys everywhere. Staff was amazing. Food was great. Room was large for our family however you could hear everyone around you. Walls are paper thin. Everything else about this place is excellent. For the price I would rent out rooms next to me for some privacy. This would be a great place for a large group or family retreat.

The View was the reason we chose this hotel. Room was ok, very simple, Pool is mini and needs repair. Restaurant was amazing!!! Room form photos looks like it had a balcony however it is just a walkway that people pass in front of. The Door to the hotel room was a sliding glass door without a standard Handle and lock. For safety you had to leave your key in the lock while inside incase there was an emergency and you needed to exit quickly. It just made it complicated for one person to be inside with the door locked and another try to get back in. Love the Wildlife at the hotel!! Vultures, parrots and monkeys! The Hotel states it is walkable, however the street is very narrow and busy, didn't feel safe walking, Taxi fees added up.

We loved the ambiance but hated the clunking noise the happened every 30monutes 24/7 right behind the headboard of our bed. We both came down with the stommach flu the 2nd day andy husband could barelymove for about 18 hours. I would have asked to be moved to a different room if he hadn't been so sick. The veiw was beautiful and the birds. Butterflies and monkeys all around were delightful

We saw more wildlife at our hotel than we did on our tours! The staff was super friendly and their hotel dog Lucky was very friendly and kept the monkeys honest! I’d stay here again the next time I was in Costa Rica. I can’t imagine them doing anything any better.

We stayed here with our three boys for four nights this past week and had the best vacation we have ever had. The owner and staff were great and treated us like family. They ordered us transportation to and from the hotel when needed which was very helpful. The restarant and bar area are 5 stars in our opinion. We saw monkeys, sloths, and wild birds all week from our balcony. I wish I had gotten all the staff names, but Liliana and Jorge were awesome! We plan to visit again for sure very soon. Troy

Mango Moon is in a great location with a great view. It's the staff that takes it to the next level. You will see the same folks everyday, they all are upbeat and welcoming, a culture within Mango Moon that felt more like home than a small hotel. The hotel itself is pretty quiet being only 10 rooms. Our room was more than what we expected and the stay was even better. Wildlife was abundant with howler monkeys to cans and parrots around everyday. Loved our stay there and hope to be back again sometime soon.

The staff and the food and the views were all terrific! We sat on the balcony in the hammock and watched the sunrise and sunset, watched and listened to the birds, were amused by the monkeys. The breakfast was great each morning. Omelette and fresh fruit and yogurt and coffee and juice. Fran, the owner, arranged our excursions and shuttle to the airport. She was wonderful to talk to about life. Her Korean restaurant, carambola was delicious. We ate there several times. Jorge took care of us each evening at the restaurant. He was one of the kindest and gracious people we met. We had a wonderful time there. Family of 3 with a teenager!

Great hotel and staff! The staff assisted me decorate my room to surprise my now fiance to propose to her to surprise her. And they helped wash my clothes when I made a math error lol of not packing enough for the trip. Outstanding free breakfast every morning as well. Five star experience and I would recommend everybody going to Manuel Antonio or Quepos to stay in this hotel. Pura vida!

We absolutely loved our stay at Mango Moon Villa. It was a small and quiet place with attentive staff. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The views were incredible. The area is very walkable with many shops and restaurants within 5-15 minutes. There’s also a bus stop 5 minutes up the hill which made local transportation very easy! We’d definitely stay here again!

Wonderful family operation, friendly, helpful staff, amazing view with lots of wildlife surrounding the hotel. From our door we spotted toucans, macaws, agouti, three types of monkeys, to mention a few. The owner is warm and welcoming. There is a delightful pool overlooking the jungle and ocean. We can’t imagine a lovelier place to stay. It is also very convenient to stores, a very natural beach, and restaurants. There is also a great highly rated Korean style restaurant on premises.

The owner is on site and very helpful. The property has amazing views of the jungle with the ocean in the backgeound, visible from I believe every room. The on site restaurant has Korean and American food, a happy hour, and a very good buffet breakfast, with a gal ready to make you an omlette. The rooms, garden and pool areas could use a bit more TLC and I believe the owner is working toward that. For a 2 night stay it met our needs, but any longer and we would have needed a larger room. Our bathroom needed some shelf space at least to put your toothbrush on 😁 as an example. There are monkeys that come through to raid the mango tree, very fun to watch and a few took some banana pieces from me. Very fun!!

Dieser Urlaub in Costa Rica im Hotel Mango Moon war einer der schönsten in meinem Leben.Man fühlt sich einfach nur wohl,umsorgt und man hat alles was man braucht.Es ist auch empfehlenswert während der Nebensaison zu reisen.Obwohl die Rezeption nicht oft besetzt ist und man sich Touren auf eigene Faust organisieren muss.Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit!Das Frühstück ist umfangreich und or Lage einfach nur atemberaubend.Der Blick au den Ozean und die Tiere,die man jeden Tag entdecken kann,sind einmalig.Man kann viele tolle Ausflüge in die Aushebung machen.Der Nationalpark liegt nur wenige Minuten entfernt.Und noch viele andere tolle Touren sind nicht weit.Pura Vida und vielen Danke für alles!

Excellent location, close to Manuel Antonio National Park and other coveted beaches! The host is wonderful, she made sure we had everything we need and gave us great tips and directions. Great breakfast, you have to watch out for monkeys who come and steal your food though! Extra points for the sunset view, the best ever!

I chose this property mostly based on location and proximity to surrounding shops, restaurants and activities. The staff were super friendly and rooms were clean and accommodating for the price and area. A nice breakfast was included too which set me up for the rest of the day. I highly recommend one of the front rooms with private balconies which are usually kept for couples. They offer Korean restaurant too while enjoying the views. For me, the highlight of this property was the spectacular views of the surrounding jungle, the pool below and of course the beautiful Espadilla beach. Local shops and restaurants were all accessible within walking distance and the beach was only a 15 minute bus ride away. I definitely enjoyed my stay there in November and the tropical rain was a charm and didn't stop me from doing lots of walking around and other activities.

We loved our stay here and would stay here if we ever came back!! The rooms aren’t so modern with the furniture and bathroom and towels but it’s charming. We had a balcony that overlooked the ocean and every morning from 530-730 animals were flying around (toucans, macaws, howler monkeys) we even saw a sloth - our hotel was way better than the national park tour we had! The owner is so lovely and warm and willing to offer to help with tours and recommendations. She is so sweet and friendly and has an interesting story (she usually comes around during breakfast and Dinner to make sure you’re enjoying your stay) and even has a Korean restaurant in the hotel which is amazing!! They also have a cute dog lucky on tne property. Hotel is walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. Beach is walkable but is more of a little hike- there are buses however I think for a dollar that are close or taxis that can take you so you don’t have to walk up the hill. They offer towels for the beach at the hotel. Pool is also really nice.

Staff was so nice!! Beautiful views. The food is very good in the restaurant. The beach is NOT walkable! If your looking for walking distance to the beach this is not the place. The roads are very steep. All else was great! I’d recommend the panorama room :)

Gorgeous view, the pool and pool area are wonderful, and the owners are very nice. The food is very tasty. We saw toucans, scarlet macaws, and had a visit from a squirrel monkey. The location is very close to the beach, shopping, and town.

The hotel is perfectly situated, snuggled slightly off the main road, tucked away just enough to avoid the loud noises at night, to hear the wildlife right from your suite and to feel like you are on some secluded area as you gaze off into the most beautiful view.... Some have said they heard noise at night but I can assure you, as I am the lightest sleeper and go to bed fairly early on the regular, that asides from hearing people laughing and dining downstairs, the only noises I heard past 9:00 pm were the cackling sounds of the gecko's and in the early morning the howling from the monkey's and the chirping of the birds. What a wild experience is was. We will be back and I highly recommend you visit the Mango Moon Villa if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Clean and safe, but in need of some attention to upkeep. Loved that the restaurant had Korean options (even if it seemed overpriced). Loved the view (with a sunset view in February) and location - monkey visits every day! I would stay again just for this. Breakfast was very good.

We had an amazing stay at this charming boutique hotel just outside of Quepos close to the Manuel Antonio Park. It truly embodies a lovely Costa Rican vibe , with its vibrant mango-colored building and mango trees. Our room was on the top level where we could enjoy beautiful rainforest and ocean views and every morning, we could hear the thump thump thump of little feet on the roof and we knew to go outside to enjoy the monkeys, squirrel monkeys and white-faced monkeys right off our balcony with the distant sounds of howler monkeys adding to the experience. We were frequently treated to the sight of macaws , especially during happy hour, which was offered in the excellent restaurant where you could enjoy stunning sunset views and two-for-one drinks. One of the dinners we had was a delicious Korean barbecue cooked at our table and breakfast was exceptional, featuring made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruits, bread, and delicious juices and coffee. There’s a refreshing little pool where you can chill out after a day of touring and enjoy the sounds of the rain forest. The staff is super helpful and friendly and enhanced our stay. We spent five nights here and were so glad we chose this hotel as our home base.

We booked a superior room with ocean view and were not disappointed ! The room shares a little deck with the adjacent superior room and the view is so beautiful you will want to admire it all day long. A few negative points: we had dinner at the on site restaurant and the food wasn’t very good. Probably the least tasty meal we had during our 2 week trip in Costa Rica. The breakfast buffet was much better. Then, we had one small bag of laundry done (since the hotel listing mentions laundry services) and they charged us $20 for it !! For one laundry load ! That is the most expensive laundry I’ve had in my entire life.

The staff and the food and the views were all terrific! We sat on the balcony in the hammock and watched the sunrise and sunset, watched and listened to the birds, were amused by the monkeys. The breakfast was great each morning. Omelette and fresh fruit and yogurt and coffee and juice. Fran, the owner, arranged our excursions and shuttle to the airport. She was wonderful to talk to about life. Her Korean restaurant, carambola was delicious. We ate there several times. Jorge took care of us each evening at the restaurant. He was one of the kindest and gracious people we met. We had a wonderful time there. Family of 3 with a teenager!

The View was the reason we chose this hotel. Room was ok, very simple, Pool is mini and needs repair. Restaurant was amazing!!! Room form photos looks like it had a balcony however it is just a walkway that people pass in front of. The Door to the hotel room was a sliding glass door without a standard Handle and lock. For safety you had to leave your key in the lock while inside incase there was an emergency and you needed to exit quickly. It just made it complicated for one person to be inside with the door locked and another try to get back in. Love the Wildlife at the hotel!! Vultures, parrots and monkeys! The Hotel states it is walkable, however the street is very narrow and busy, didn't feel safe walking, Taxi fees added up.

Great hotel and staff! The staff assisted me decorate my room to surprise my now fiance to propose to her to surprise her. And they helped wash my clothes when I made a math error lol of not packing enough for the trip. Outstanding free breakfast every morning as well. Five star experience and I would recommend everybody going to Manuel Antonio or Quepos to stay in this hotel. Pura vida!

Staff was so nice!! Beautiful views. The food is very good in the restaurant. The beach is NOT walkable! If your looking for walking distance to the beach this is not the place. The roads are very steep. All else was great! I’d recommend the panorama room :)

The owner is on site and very helpful. The property has amazing views of the jungle with the ocean in the backgeound, visible from I believe every room. The on site restaurant has Korean and American food, a happy hour, and a very good buffet breakfast, with a gal ready to make you an omlette. The rooms, garden and pool areas could use a bit more TLC and I believe the owner is working toward that. For a 2 night stay it met our needs, but any longer and we would have needed a larger room. Our bathroom needed some shelf space at least to put your toothbrush on 😁 as an example. There are monkeys that come through to raid the mango tree, very fun to watch and a few took some banana pieces from me. Very fun!!

Mango Moon exceeded my expectations. The hotel and surrounding property was beautiful and well maintained. The view is phenomenal, The staff were beyond friendly and so helpful with my questions of the area. Fran, the owner, is a lovely person who you will see often. I don't know that any trip I take in the future will compare to this. I could sit by the pool eveyday in complete happiness! I saw more wildlife from my balcony than anywhere else in Manuel Antonio; monkeys, sloths, lizards, hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, toucans...Go visit Mango Moon! 5 stars 🌟

The room had a beautiful view of the ocean, as did the pool and restaurant. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was tasty and there were lots of monkeys that came to say hello (from a distance). Our only issue was the shower flooding the bathroom the first day so just be conscious of water usage.

The hotel was one of the bests I’ve ever experienced while traveling!! Staff was so very kind, Rooms were clean, breakfast was diverse and nutritional, and the best part was seeing wildlife (monkeys, toucans, lizards) right from our balcony.

Mango Moon was an absolute highlight of our trip! We had the oceanfront view which was incredible and honestly worth it alone. The location is perfect, just a short walk or drive to the beach and surrounded by great restaurants. Santa Plancha is a must for the most authentic Costa Rican food in the area. The whole team including the owner were so welcoming and we felt completely safe with on-site security. Would go back in a heartbeat!
