Hotel Puntarenas Beach

We rented junior suite with ocean view. Ocean view was the only good thing, this was not a suite, just a regular room with a view branded as a suite. Old, barely working tv and fridge, AC was working but couldn't keep the room cool, very noisy location, with music and karaoke, windows and balcony door with gaps and don't block any noise. There were no toiletries in the room, bathroom door is with glass and huge holes , leaving zero privacy. No blinds - 5:30 am sun will wake you up. Hard to park in very small garage, where people block you car.

Very nice and cool old hotel. Great view from balconies of ocean, nice clean pool and rec. area. Friendly informative staff. Very good breakfast. Very nice walk in front to nice restaurants. large room, had a room with no windows and it was still OK. Would advise trying to get a room facing the ocean if you are spending time in the room.

Overall our stay went well, but our check-in was a mess. This reservation was prepaid (like dozens of others we’ve made with Expedia). For some reason the front desk agent gave us the hotel’s Expedia receipt he had created which showed the room a total of $63 USD cheaper. We should NEVER have been provided that information. It took some translation to figure out what he was trying to show us. Why, we’ll never know. The pool was great, the included breakfast in the open air sidewalk restaurant was fantastic and the views for sunset from the 4th floor balcony were outstanding.

Bonito hotel, especialmente porque cuenta con un mirador increíble donde se puede tener una buena vista del mar en 180 grados y una vista de los alrededores del pueblo.... buena atención, céntrico ; puede uno movilizarse caminando o en taxi. Mi única recomendación seria para la ducha, que debería ser o tener mejor presión de agua.

My room was clean, spacious, the AC was working well, and the poolside room helped make it pretty quiet (a beach bar was across the street playing music). The bathroom had a jacuzzi style tub with a hand shower, no standup shower which I much prefer. There is no light or switch by the bed, so my cellphone served as a temporary nightlight. The parking garage below the hotel would have been convenient, but when I drove down there another guest was parked in two spots (not the fault of the hotel) and I was forced to back out. When I went to reception to inform them, they did have a backup parking lot across the street, basically an empty construction lot but locked behind a secured fence…less convenient than the underground lot, but secure which was important. I received immediate assistance from reception staff to escort me to the parking lot to open the gate, both in the evening and at checkout, so no time was lost. The morning breakfast buffet was wonderful with views of the beach across the street. The staff was great and I enjoyed my brief stay in Puntarenas.

Hatten das Hotel für 2 Nächte gebucht und sind nach einer Nacht abgereist. Es hat wenig mit dem zu tun, was man im Portal sieht. Geschmacklos eingerichtet und in die Jahre gekommen. Personal an der Lobby war sehr nett. Können auch nichts für den Zustand. Man hat das Gefühl, dass Hotel ist in den 80ern stehen geblieben. Ich weiß nicht was schlimmer war, die orangene Plastikwand hinterm Bett oder die chinesischen Plastikornamente in der Decke über dem Bett. Das Frühstück war unterdurchschnittlich. On top war das Casino im 1. Stock. Alles in allem keine 4 Sterne, max 1-2 und das für 100 € die Nacht. Puntaresa ist an sich schon gruselig.

This hotel is so outdated and short on amenities. No way would I stay here again. No blanket, short on towels, pillows were overstuffed and so on.

Hotel is right across the street from the beach. Staff was very friendly and accommodations clean. Balcony view was perfect. Highly recommend.

Reasonable price, very clean hotel, close to beach.

Problème à la réception qui ne trouvait pas notre réservation et voulait nous faire payer la chambre déjà réglée. Ensuite, chambre sans fenêtre ni aération et les odeurs des toilettes ont accompagné notre nuit. Très décevant d\'autant qu\'avant notre départ ils ont tout vérifié dans la "cellule" alors que celle-ci etait équipée au minimum d\'un lit.

The best compliment you can give is an honest comment I found the stuff to be warm and welcoming my only disappointment was the Deco was a little bit dated But found our room to be clean and fresh. By accident I left my phone at the hotel about an hour later I realized that I had lost my phone to be fair I thought I lost the phone somewhere else but my girlfriend contacted the hotel to see if my phone has been found they confirmed that they had the phone. I want put to bed a myth about the breakfast at the hotel, it definitely a good flavor Pinto but the eggs were cold but all around a decent breakfast served with fruits definitely better than average. Honesty and integrity can definitely be found at this hotel I recommend

The stuff at the fromt desk they were very friendly and ready to help. Unfortunately the place luck off cleanliness and good service in the ding aspect is realy bad. We had very old bedding that keep coming off the matress no conforter on the beds and thet offer us this very old ugly I that was not going to use those comforters One of the day rain a lot we stay in we whent to the restaurant for diner we had worse experience with the food cook gave us row frozen stakes it was disgusting. I dont think i will stay at this place ever because it was not cheap

1.La habitacion no tienen perchero o donde poner la ropa. Escaso mobiliario: mesita de noche, cama, una silla y estante con televisión pequeña (20 pulgadas) y mala calidad de imagen. La llave es simple y no tiene seguridad en caso de robo. Las paredes sucias y necesitaba un arreglo. El cuarto de baño, uno de los grifos de la ducha, se salia de su soporte, con baja fuerta la salida de agua. El labavo no tiene agua caliente por lo que no te puedes afeitar. La ventana estaba bloqueada, sin ventilacion y orientada sur-este, dando muchas horas de sol. El check-in es a partir de las 3 pm, sin posibilidad de tener la llave antes, pero el check-out, me lo recordaban desde la hora del desayuno, a las 9 am. El resto en consonancia anticuado, viejo, deteriorado y sin limpieza necesaria por el covid-19.

The room had no window, the room was small, and really could use a make over.

The place was nice enough for the price and location. The room was an "Economy". The hotel\'s lowest price, and didn\'t have a window as advertised. The hot water was just a trickle. The only furniture was a chair, open wardrobe, and the bed. There was a small shelf under the TV that acted as a desk. The only way to get a WIFI signal was close to the door. So the chair became a laptop desk. The included \'free\' breakfast was tasty, but they served small portions. This place had seen better days, but was pleasant enough. I\'m thinking that next time I\'ll go with a B&B

Can tolerate cheap toilet paper & bath mirror for midgets. No hot water or shower. Cold eggs for breakfast. Only good was sound of ocean to fall asleep. Worst value hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

I would never stay at this hotel again. Poor room, no coffee machine, no safer. You have to hold the shower to take showers. Very few guests, probably only us stayed there although many rooms.

The building, location breakfast and staff were great. We had some issues with the shower as you have to hold the shower head at all times and the check in time is not till 3pm, which was a bit inconvenient.

I got approached by a man drinking a beer, and begging for money, as soon as I walked out the hotel door. There is a police station, at the other end of the block. It was in a dirty area of town. The beach was across the street, but I wouldn’t recommend going there after dark. The free breakfast was delicious.

Our toilet never flushed. We asked the staff to have fixed. Never did. Gross
