Very nice property that was easy to access from the highway. Local food markets and bistro/bar are right there. Access to the gym facilities next store with sauna and hot tub is part of your stay. Staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the local activities! Definitely would stay there again on our next trip!

Excellent customer service and front desk representative was amazing! Breakfast buffet was great with variety of options and staff that was very efficient and friendly. The one thing that concerned me was the parking lot conditions. The city had a freak snowstorm a couple of days before and the parking lot was still not plowed. The driving condition in this hotels parking lot was extremely dangerous and our 4x4 vehicle with winter tires slid a few times. My husband is an excellent driver and we did not get in an accident thank God.

Clean and comfortable room and hotel looks new. Awesome water pressure in the shower which seems to be a rarity in Iceland. Very nice staff and good breakfast (the bread is excellent ). Easy to get everywhere from this hotel. Lots of parking. Would absolutely stay here again

Good hotel. Comfortable. Radiators were noisy when turned on. Also had a well stacked gym with a sauna and hot tub but I didn’t get chance to use it. Was a bit of a distance from central Reykjavík, I had a car, there was a bus stop just outside to take you to the centre but again I didn’t use it so won’t know how long the journey would take

Very limited options for the continental breakfast. The hot tub, sauna and gym were not part of the hotel but next to it and a whole different facility so it felt weird going in there to use the hot tub. It did serve its purpose though and it wasn’t to far from the city center

Gym was great. Room was clean and well maintained. Hotel and room smelled like plastic or some sort of chemicals. Breakfast was not very good. Nearby restaurant was not very good. Location wasn’t really convenient to anything - 20 mins to Reykjavic. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Still a great value especially if you use the gym.

Breakfast was basic but fresh and well managed. Very convenient to main roads in and out of Reykjavik. Only complaint was a lingering barnyard(mold?) in hallways. Front desk aware of it but said nothing could be done - seems like a professional service needs to come and inspect/clean?

Das Hotel ist in einem kleinen Industriebetrieb gelegen, der Hafen fussläufig erreichbar, ca. 25min. Mit dem Auto ist das Hotel gut angebunden, Parkplätze ausreichend vorhanden. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein aber sehr funktionell. Leider war das Bettlaken dreckig, daher ein Stern Abzug. Ebenso war ein Duschvorhang vorhanden, hier könnte man eine schöne Glasscheibe installieren. Die Matratzen waren leider sehr durchgelegen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Personal sehr nett.

We didn't want to stay in the city so great location for us. Free parking and free breakfast saves travelers a lot of money. Gym is next door and access is included. Good Thai restaurant and grocery store within walking distance. Rooms and beds were small, but very clean. No mini fridge or microwave. Definitely recommend this hotel.

I felt my bed was ok but wifes comments are: The bed was worn and had a dip in it and the pillow was lumpy. Also, we could hear cars going by on the main road till about 12:30am. The breakfast was good. Also, whats with the bathrooms in iceland not having a fan?

Room with double beds is too small, entry door can’t fully open because it touches the bed . Shower area without curtain , all bathroom floor wet after shower . Not enough table area .

Good value but check in time is really late at 4pm. We didn't know about that (our fault as stated in the booking site but didn't pay attention to it). Arrived at the hotel close to 3pm (which is the check in time for almost everywhere else in Iceland) but was told the room is not ready. So we waited at the lounge and even close to 4pm, it was still not ready. The receptionist had to go to the room to check. Then it was ready. Not sure if this is a case of the cleaners not updating the system about the readiness of the room or they are really cleaning it up till the very last minute. Otherwise, room is decent and spacious. Breakfast is fairly standard.

We needed to check in early due a medical issue. Our room wasn’t available but just as we were about to leave the hotel staff ran out to tell us it was available. She got us checked it, ordered a morning breakfast, and got us situated. Absolutely the BEST customer service. This was on August 12th at 3:00. She was absolutely the most kindest person during our trip.

Hotel Vellir staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Receptionist in the evening of 6/8/25 was FANTASTIC and exceptional at her job with recommendations and assistance. Convenient location to get to the airport the next AM. Gym was the best gym we’ve ever been to. The only thing I would change was this was the least eco-friendly place we stayed in Iceland. Would have been nice to have a recycling bin in hotel room. No microwave or fridge available in room.

Staff was a little rude, cold, and stand off ish. Breakfast was okay, seemed disorganized. The deadbolt on the bedroom door didn’t work and the door didn’t seal well so it let in some hallway noise. The blackout curtains they had were insufficient and it was still fairly bright in the room

Middleway between Keflavik and Reykjavik, so walking anywhere is not an option. If not with a car, its going to be a problem. Good breakfast, big room for two people. Everything was correct. Weird smell in the hallway which moved to our room though. Sports bar had nice food aswell.

Very good location if you rent a car for travel in Iceland. Hotel is close to Reykjavik, has convenient access to major roads and directions, and not far from the airport. Very easy to plan your trips and schedule.

So this is not close to downtown Reykjavík. By bus it is 45 minutes away by care 20-25 online and at the front desk it is advertised as 15 minutes. The hotel breakfast was beyond basic but overall poor quality. The juice machine was giving watery juice and there were flies around. Nothing tasted fresh but rather made the day before. The rooms are cheaply furnished like dorm room furniture and the black out curtains aren’t long enough to be funny black out but the building is mostly glass so it makes me think it must have been an office before. I went to three different hotels in Iceland and this was the worst but prices similar so I’m disappointed. The front desk personally were nice but not there often. I wouldn’t come back and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Pictures are much nicer online.

Didn’t spend much time here but sports bar food was ok. Breakfast was included more of continental style with local flare. It is all pretty pricey in Iceland already and then add on hotel mark up for food but price of the hotel was decent for the quality.

Room and staff were great. However, I apparently got food poisoning from eating food (most likely culprit - chicken wings) in the bar. Beer also tasted a bit off, so there could have been disinfectant left in the glass when it was filled. I vomited the next mrning. Than symptoms gradually decreased.
