This was our third time here and we love this place. Super friendly people and the hallways are lined with era antiques. Rooms are comfortable and the location, away from the packed in town is perfect. Walk to town or take a shuttle. Morning or evening deck sitting is wonderful.

We decided to stay here one night for our anniversary. We stayed in the outpatient room which is a very large suite type room with an outside entrance with a small porch and sitting area as well as an interior door entrance. It had a private bathroom with a soaking tub/shower combo and another small room with a closet. The room had 2 very comfortable queen beds and it was very clean and had beautiful antique furniture. They really thought of everything for comfort. There was a nice box fan, a space heater and an extra blanket for comfort. When we opened the windows there was a beautiful cross breeze which is so pleasant at nearly 10,000 feet. They provide tea and hot chocolate and bags of ice for free. They have picnic tables and bbq grills for use outside which is convenient. And in the morning they even have a food trailer on site where you can order a yummy breakfast entree from your room and pick it up. We got the smothered breakfast burritos. Very tasty. When we came back to our room after enjoying Cripple Creek we found a little plate of chocolate chip cookies and a happy anniversary card for us. Very thoughtful. We slept absolutely amazingly. Can’t wait to come back again. Just lovely.

The lodge is set upon a hill with plenty of land around it for viewing. The location is just minutes away to the downtown area with a shuttle available for a price. The room was clean and decorated in an early 1900's motif. Plenty of porches to enjoy. Had a grill area in a shady spot with clean picnic tables.

The hotel has loads of historical items that are fascinating and beautiful. Each room is unique and different from the others. We'll have to go back to use another room! The check-in process was fast and efficient because you know which room you're booking. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed talking with the owner about the history of the hotel. We will come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor amenities and beautiful scenery.

This hotel is super nice - the decor is very unique as it was a former hospital. Lots of antiques and cool items to look at. Each room is unique. The place is exceptionally clean and everything is in top shape. Highly recommend if you are staying in Cripple Creek.

We absolutely loved our stay here in Cripple Creek! It was such a cute place! The room was large and very clean, bed was very comfortable. We saw mule deer right on the property! The breakfast was so good! The girl that cooked it was so nice and informative about the area. We went to feed the donkeys outside of town after she told us about them. Then we went to find the giant troll. We highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful historic hotel. Bed was comfortable and bedroom and bathroom were clean, my only suggestion is to upgrade the windows. It was so drafty I used my jacket to cover the window. Staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was nice and coffee was fresh.

This is such a unique property. An old hospital, it has been converted into a historic hotel. Each room is named for a room in a hospital. We stayed in the Imaging Room — thankfully there’s a bed in place of an x-ray table now! The ceilings must be about 12 feet. No A/C, but we were comfortable with the windows open with the fan they provided. No food service in the hotel, but a food cart on the property made us delicious breakfast burritos, and we dined at a table on the lawn under a shade tree.

The history and style of the building are wonderful! We loved that we could walk around and see photos and information from when it was a hospital in the early 1900s. We were event able to peek into some of the unoccupied rooms. We chose to stay in the Maternity ward which has two beds. The décor was lovely. The room was large and extremely clean, beds were comfortable, and front desk staff was very kind with any questions we had. The only thing that was strange, was that the toilet in our room sits in a very small closet, and there is an old radiator touching the entire left side of the toilet. This made for a very tight and awkward space. The radiator was never hot, however it would be more pleasant to have it removed. The shower was a small clawfoot tub, which was beautiful. It sits high, so you need a step stool to get in and out of it, which was very difficult for my mother in her 70s. I highly recommend this as a wonderful and beautiful place to stay. It's just a short drive or shuttle ride down to the casinos. Be sure to check each room to see what would fit best for your family, particular in regards to the bathrooms.

We recently stayed here during a quiet week, and absolutely loved the experience. It’s an interesting and historic building, and the owners have taken incredible care to fashion a beautiful and comfortable hotel while preserving its history. The owner is a terrific storyteller who was generous with his time, sharing numerous interesting tidbits about the area and the hotel’s days as the county hospital. The rooms have been upgraded to luxury standards, with high-end fixtures and quality craftsmanship. All-in, our stay here was the highlight of our trip. Will be back!

We absolutely loved staying there. The original and authentic details of the old hospital was evident everywhere. Joanne, the innkeeper, was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was made fresh every day We had a really great experience and would definitely return again!!
We absolutely loved staying there. The original and authentic details of the old hospital was evident everywhere. Joanne, the innkeeper, was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was made fresh every day We had a really great experience and would definitely return again!!

The quality of the hotel is top-notch. Everything is very clean and the breakfast is excellent. Beds super comfortable. The real standout, though, is the staff. Joanne was super welcoming, offering advice for food, attractions, and taking an interest in us as people. I would go back in an instant!!

Fabulous place to stay, away from downtown just enough to enjoy the quiet. Beds were super comfortable. Upon check in they were kind enough to recommend places to eat in town, as I wasn't visiting the casinos, as well as some touristy things to do. They provided maps, Great atmosphere, breakfast was amazing!

What amazing trip back in history. Fantastic service. Jack and Sarah provided excellent service and Doc’s Prescribed Comfort Food provided a fantastic food truck breakfast .

The House is lovely. The service is outstanding -- prompt, friendly, informative, and whatever else you need. They've also worked to preserve a lot of the historical details, while still providing modern amenities. The only downside is that there isn't a lot to do nor are there a ton of restaurant options within the town of Cripple Creek (unless you're into small casinos).

Beautiful hotel holding onto it's character through careful restoration and still providing all our modern day comforts. Hotel is located of the outskirts of the town so was very quiet. Received a warm welcome on our arrival and found to be helpful with lots of information about the area. Area has lots of history of gold mining ⛏️.

This was our third time here and we love this place. Super friendly people and the hallways are lined with era antiques. Rooms are comfortable and the location, away from the packed in town is perfect. Walk to town or take a shuttle. Morning or evening deck sitting is wonderful.

What a true hidden gem! This is a must try if you’re in the area and want a clean, cozy, inviting, quiet, unique stay! From check in to check out everything was wonderful. So much history everywhere in the hotel, friendly staff, super comfortable bed, clean, welcoming! Must try!

The lodge is set upon a hill with plenty of land around it for viewing. The location is just minutes away to the downtown area with a shuttle available for a price. The room was clean and decorated in an early 1900's motif. Plenty of porches to enjoy. Had a grill area in a shady spot with clean picnic tables.

Stay in this historical location and property was just terrific. We did try the food truck the night before we were leaving and found it not up to par. We had a small dinner of a hotdog and some onion rings and it was not hot when I picked it up. We had to reheat it in the microwave at the hotel. We decided not to stay for breakfast as we thought it would be the same result. So, while I am delighted with the accommodations. I am not so delighted with the“free breakfast“.

The breakfast was so good! The girl that cooked it was so nice and informative about the area. We went to feed the donkeys outside of town after she told us about them. Then we went to find the giant troll. We highly recommend staying here!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Loved the hospital antiques and pictures of what it looked like when it was a hospital. The only draw back, restaurant is listed as an amenity. There is a food truck but that is not a restaurant. After traveling all day I had planned on going to the restaurant and relax, not eat from a food truck and hang out in my room. If the amenities list were to be updated so one knows ahead of time there is not a restaurant, I would highly recommend this place.

The staff was very helpful and the room was nicely cleaned. I was taken back when Joanne told us breakfast was served from the food truck, very strange. However, the breakfast was good and after I ordered it he personally brought it to our room, nice customer service. I was amazed at how much effort, money and time was spent in the renovation of the building. They did an excellent job. I completely forgot when booking that older buildings don’t have the luxuries of our newer ones. It wasn’t a good choice for my handicap husband. Overall it was enjoyable.
