This is an older hotel, but it is kept up nicely. Stanley itself is very small, so not a lot of food and lodging options. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot springs on property - didn't know about it! The room was fairly clean (although found strands of hair in the sink). The hot springs were definitely the highlight, but need better signage to get there, especially at night.

Parking was ample, in the front and rear of the lodge. Office staff very detailed, friendly, and kind. Quickly got me a new key when U messed up the first one. Very clean and as a senior like to walk in safe shower. Thanks!!

This was a rustic stay that offered a beautiful hotspring to relax in. The restaurant had good food, we ate dinner and breakfast here. I rented a basic, double queen room. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have hoped. There was hair and crumbs in the tub, and soap residue in the tub and sink from the previous guest. There were crumbs on the bathroom counter as well, some things seemed to have been overlooked in the bathroom. The bed was not very comfortable. The restaurant and hotspring made up for the room.

After spending the day on the lake, we checked in and got our key and went next door to eat. We then went to our room which faces West and the sun. It was about 79 degrees which isn’t terribly hot but we were sunburned and were looking forward to turning on the AC. But there is no AC. We called the front desk and were told they didn’t have any units available with AC but could give us a fan. We already weren’t super happy with the room- the bathroom floor and bathroom vanity backsplash were dirty. We did pull back the bedspreads and the sheets looked clean and the mattresses didn’t seem too bad. The room looked like a 1970s motel 6. I don’t think they have changed anything in over 40 years however I believe they are renovating rooms. When we ended up deciding to drive the 3 hours home instead of sleeping there, we called the property about a refund and were told it states they do not have AC on their website, however we booked thru Expedia, and I cannot find that mentioned anywhere.

The rooms were decent for the low price. Expect what you pay for. Most of the outlets did not work. The room heater was hard to control and it was too hot. The TV did not turn off. The microwave did not work. The beds are very uncomfortable. The saving grace of this place is the hot spring on the property, and it's probably the only place to stay in town.

Everything was as advertised. No frills room. Very clean and Comfortable. Convenient location for Hikers near Redfish Lake and Alice - Toxaway loop trail. Would stay there again. Very friendly staff.

Stayed one night. It was quiet. What we didn't like: the bathroom. Toilet was made for midgets, showerhead was small, tub drain was very slow. Stood in 3" of water while you showered. We didnt need it, but there isnt air conditioning. A floor fan and wall heater service the room. Beds were comfy, tv and remote are not user friendly. Room was clean, floor squeaky in bathroom.

Nice hotel, rooms could use a bit of a refresh but they are tidy and beds are comfy. Hot spring is a must just make sure to reserve a time, some people don't so you might get some company during your time.

Excellent reception and information. We were able to check in early on a very snowy day and that was great. I recommend an upstairs room as there was someone walking above us for a long time and the noise was irritating, just from walking normally in the room.

Stanley is just magic! Lots of hiking, sigts to see and peace in every direction! Redfish Lake, Stanley Lake and besutiful scenery around every corner! Tons of food options in town! Mountain Village is the center of it!

The view is amazing! We visited before busy season so most the restaurants in town were still closed for winter. Ate at the mountain village restaurant a few nights and was very good food and they even have several different vegan options which was pretty great to have in such a small town

This Mountain Lodge is a busy motel/RV park at a major mountain highway intersection. The advertised hot springs are a significant walk away from the property, inaccessible to us. A requested handicapped room was not available, so we climbed the stairs for our two-night stay. The room was quiet and comfortable, but the wooden decking outside was noisy as people walked by. The floor behind the bathroom door was not clean, nor the perimeters next to the walls. Outside seating somewhere would have been nice: there is covered decking, but few chairs. The resort-owned restaurant had delicious, reasonably priced lunch and dinner, but the limited breakfast hours prohibited us from having any breakfast, with no nearby alternative.

Very nice and peaceful. Close to lake, short drive down the road for great star gazing. Wish we could have stayed longer. Only downfall was the restaurant. Waited 15 minutes and not one person greeted us. Then I had to find someone walking by and ask to be put on the list for a seat after I realized other people in line were on a list. Our server never even said hello, just asked what we wanted. The food was good though and the server did meet all our needs during our meal.
