The Inn was close to the beach and we had an Ocean View from the 4th floor room, stairs only, which was nipping clean and very comfortable, we took advantage and had a massive Queen bed each. I apologise that I didn't take the name of the lady who checked us in who was luvvly as was Geoff/Jeff who we dealt with all week, nothing was ever a trouble. Obviously an old building hence needs TLC but I wouldnt hesitae to use again, a little Inn with the personal touch in a great location, oh! Free Parking also.

We had an amazing stay! The staff was friendly. Our rooms were clean upon arrival which was very impressive because we have stayed at other hotels in the area that were not as clean. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. The beach is a close walking distance so was the pier. Parking was very easy and in front of the rooms. The pool area was super nice and enjoyable for our family. We would definitely book again!

This property is small and nice. The staff were great. There is no elevator but they aren’t lying about great views on the top floor. The pool is on the smaller side but you have the beach across the street. Worst thing was the beds anre pretty soft so they aren’t the best if you’ve broken your pelvis previously and need a firm bed. Other than that, great place to stay for our family with a 6 year old.

Nothing fancy, but centrally located and right across from the start of the boardwalk. Several good restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Amusement park about 5 minutes' walk. Famous Pier 2 is just across the street. Owner was very helpful, and the pool was great. Easy parking in back of the hotel. I was on the second floor and over the years the palm trees have grown to that level blocking the view of the ocean. Overall, a good base of operations with clean facilities.

Prior to us arriving we received a call letting us know that we could check in early if we wanted to. They also verified that they would be able to accomodate our request for a lower level room, which we requested because we were informed that there are no elevators as part of our booking confirmation. Upon arriving at the inn you could tell that it is part of old Myrtle Beach, but don'tjudge a book by its cover! The staff at the desk was extremely friendly and personable, and he was able to answer any questions that we had. The building is well taken care of and provides the comforts needed for a stay in Myrtle Beach. The room was clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. A huge perk to these rooms is that they have a full size refridgerator and a kitchenette! We would definitely stay here again, and recommend anyone looking for a room in Myrtle Beach to consider it as well.

Great location, extremely nice and helpful staff but not very comfortable. Bed are so soft my back was killing me and no elevator so 4 flights of stairs were tough. Nice view and you can walk to pier and beach just across the street. Free parking and internet.

Great location across the street from the beach! I stayed in the motel part and the room I had is in drastic need of cleaning and updating. It smelled musty like an old motel. But the owner was super nice and very kind really going out of his way to insure a nice visit.

We all loved The Darlington! Our room was spotless, the staff welcoming and the location great! This property has quite a selection from our motel room in the newer building to cottages scattered around the property to the original inn rooms. Right at the foot of the boardwalk mean you are near everything right across the street from the beach but with the feeling of lots of open space. It's an easy stroll to lots of restaurants and amusements. They even had a welcome treat pack for our dog. We will be back!

This was definitely the cleanest room I've stayed in. The big name brand hotels are never this clean. This stay was during the "off season", so not many guests. Was nice and quiet abd great priced. The staff was nice and friendly and made sure you had enough clean toiletries daily. And, the beach was just across the street. Will stay here everytime.

The location was fantastic, it was directly across from the beach with an unobstructed view of the ocean. We were able to access the Boardwalk within a few minutes and walg all the way to the main strip. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at the main motel building and the room, though a little dated, was cleaned fairly well. Because this is a pet-friendly location and we don't have any pets, the animal hairs in the bedding were very noticeable, especially on our darker clothing. My husband said it's almost impossible to completely get rid of animal fur once it gets in a dryer, so this is something to consider when booking. We also noticed a large amount of dust and debris under one of the beds as though it hadn't been touched in a while. Other than these things, the remainder of the room was spotless. I would strongly suggest this location to any pet owners!

Perfect family owned facility. They make you feel right at home. From advice of where to eat, pool and beach towels, beach chairs and even sand buckets I saw for the kids to use which makes traveling a breeze. Boardwalk and beach access is a hop skip and jump across the street. No crazy elevator wait times or crowds in your way at The Darlington. This is our forever weekend getaway place. Thanks Darlington Crew! 10 Stars if I could. See you next summer!

As you arrive, don’t let the weathered appearance of the building form your opinion of the Darlington Inn. The staff will greet you with a warm smile and friendly welcome. The rooms are nicely renovated with amenities to make your stay comfortable. Cleanliness is most important to my husband and I, the Darlington Inn gets an A+. We will definitely return for another stay on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Pro: Just off boardwalk and beach. Great hosts. Very helpful and personable. Con: Very noisy cars and motorcycles reving engines, loud music, up and back on the strip. Window covers were small and broken mini blinds. Bright outside lights shined through like daylight. Needs light blocking curtains.

While driving to the hotel from out of state, the owner called us to let us know our room was ready if we wanted to check in early and offered us a room on a higher floor for a better ocean view. Incredible! Room was bright & clean with kitchenette. Beds were very comfy! Great stay.

The room was clean. The beds were way too firm for us and we didn't sleep too well because of how hard they are. The kitchenette we had was nice to have. We saved some money on breakfasts by eating at the hotel room. We had issues with the toilet tank not filling. When they finally were able to replace the part, it was with one that was the wrong size so the float would be too low and the toilet still didn't flush properly. We also had issues with two outlets not working. Those were tightened and fixed too.

Very clean and well maintained. Every room has a balcony facing the ocean. The beach is across the street and through a parking lot. A block and a half in the opposite direction is a Dollar General which has everything you might want or might have forgot. The rooms have a 4 burner atove, oven, microwave and full size refrigerator so you can cook for yourself to save some cash.

Property was clean and parking was free. The unit is older and needs some updating. AC did not keep room cool. Bed was not comfortable and there is a lot of noise from the main road. Office staff was nice at checkin.

This is an older, efficiency style hotel across from the ocean. Room was clean and furniture in good repair. However, wi-fi was spotty, if it worked at all (was able to get service from another source). If you are looking for a quaint, older, family-style hotel at a more modest priced, this would be ideal. If you want more up-to-date amenities, would suggest looking elsewher.

The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. It is a small family owned business so you aren’t going to get all the accommodations of bigger hotel chains. However, the room and linen were clean, pool area was nice and the location was near the boardwalk. For some the room might be a little hot but for me and my sisters, it was just right. One hotel could use some updates, but the TV, bedding, coffee maker and fridge were all new. For what it lacked in modern upgrades, the cleanliness of the room, hospitality, friendliness and willing to assist made up it. My family and I would definitely stay again. Thank you

Guy called us around 11 in the morning on day we were checking in and told us our room was ready if we wanted to check in early….upon checking in he told me that there was nobody booked in the next day if we wanted to check out late it wasn’t a problem at all…amazing service

I have never felt more like a VIP than when I stayed at the Darlington. I was contacted the day before and arrangements were made for my early arrival. When I got to the hotel, I was met by members of the staff who made me feel like family. They assisted with my check-in and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. I enjoyed it so much, I extended for one more day. I have stayed in several hotels at Myrtle Beach, but not one had a better staff. I can't wait for my next stay there!!!!

I booked a quick trip for myself, my two daughters and my grandson. I had a reservation already booked at a large chain hotel, but decided to have a look at Hotels.com just to see if there were better options. I am very glad that I did. I had never heard of the Darlington, but the customer reviews were MUCH higher than any of the other Hotels. After staying there, I see why. It is a small, family owned hotel and the staff make you feel like family. They were all so nice and helpful, and I don't think that they ever stop working. The rooms were very clean. In fact, it was the first beach hotel that I have ever stayed in that did not smell like the beach! The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. Also, the price of the stay was so affordable. I am glad that I found them and would definitely recommend them to all friends and family. My new "go to" place at the beach. Great staff at this location, was very impressed with the hospitalities offered by staff here. I believe its a family owned establishment which explains the hospitality. I do wish the location offered personal Laundry Equipment as an added amenity to make the stay better. The location is acceptable and appropriately priced considering multiple abandoned hotels and buildings just North of the location. It can get noisy on Ocean Blvd just out front of the location in the Dusk hours with the constant 'cruising' by people driving by in their loud cars... More of a local ordnance issue that Mytrle Beach should do better about enforcing. Would and will absolutely stay at this location in the future given the negative issues, none of which seem to be the properties fault rather the municipalities fault. Some first world requests like a washing machine and dryer to use would be icing to the cake on our stay but did not effect a negative view on our stay, it would just be an added bonus. RECOMMEND Booking DIRECTLY with property for best pricing. As what I assume to be a family owned location, I would recommend supporting them by booking directly so they can offer best price and discounts not available through third party platforms. Like I said, I will be staying here again in the future. It was overall great.

Well Jeff, Sheila and their son Zach make this property standout. They take the time to welcome their guests and it is really neat to see a family run operation. The property itself is similar to most of the hotels on Ocean Front in South MB; a bit 80ish. A couple other hotels highlight “Color TV” on their signs to give some context. I hope that doesn’t come across as negative; it just explains to area. Their rooms are clean, furnished well with a large fridge, oven and houseware for meals. The premium part of their place is the location. Walk across the street and you are where the concrete boardwalk starts. A beautiful walk takes you from Wicked Tuna (and its pier) to the actual boardwalk that leads to the ferris wheel and shops (and another pier). A beautiful walk. And the beach is right there the whole stretch. So, in summary, this was a great place to stay. It may not have the frills or be as fancy as some 5 star properties, but it is run by 5 star people in a 5 star location for South Myrtle Beach. Thanks for the great stay.

Our toilet stopped working on the second night. Unfortunately no one works the front desk after 5 pm. We called several times to get the toilet issue fixed but all we got was an answering machine. Our family of 4 couldn’t stay in a room with no toilet so we checked out and went back home. Only after we were in the road for 30 minutes did we finally get a call back where they promised send maintenance the next day…as if it matters anymore. The location was nice, the room was dated but clean…we thought it was a great value but I’d rather pay more to get 24/7 service.

Great customer service. My son was arriving late to the hotel; the front desk reached out to him and gave him instructions to obtain access to his room. The BEST part is the clerk went way above and waited for my son to arrive instead. The communication was awesome and everything including the view was great. Thank you, Darlington Inn, for being the best part of his trip.

Awesome place to stay for a first visit to Myrtle Beach. The property is family owned - so definitely a lot of personal touches- appreciated the dining and activity suggestions. We had an early arrival flight and a late departure flight so they were able to hold our luggage each time and got us into our room as soon as possible. Perfect location at the end of the boardwalk so immediate area was quiet but an easy walk to all attractions. We will definitely stay there again.

Perfect location, with ocean view from balcony. Good size fridge, stove on small kitchen, small dining table near balcony were an excellent additions for comfortable stay. Road noise from the street, had subsided normally by 10 PM. Owners were pleasant and accommodative. Other guests (many of them as owner told have stayed there more than once) appeared to be considerate of others and had finished their activities by 10 PM. Overall stay was very pleasant.

Adorable little cottage type place directly across from the beach. Nothing to obstruct the view of the ocean. Balcony was a decent size. Shower was nice and hot. Owners had excellent communication with us. Family owned and built in 1942! Has a tiny little kitchen but very functional with a few dishes/cookware. Will most definitely stay here again.

Very clean and well maintained. Every room has a balcony facing the ocean. The beach is across the street and through a parking lot. A block and a half in the opposite direction is a Dollar General which has everything you might want or might have forgot. The rooms have a 4 burner atove, oven, microwave and full size refrigerator so you can cook for yourself to save some cash.

I took my family on Spring break based on the reviews from Hotels.com/Google. We were there for 4 days. These were my pros and cons. PROS: Great location. Great view of the beach from our balcony. We could just walk right across to the beach and pier. Great customer service. Check in was easy and they usually will call and confirm your stay on the day of. That was a nice touch. He called me by name when I walked in the front door. Nice touch. The hotel is close to other areas for shopping and dining, and is along the strip. The AC/ Heater worked great. The room smelled really clean and sanitized, but the bleach was a bit too strong. CONS: They have no elevators there so walking up 4 flights of stairs with luggage....with kids was exhausting. No breakfast service. The pool is at the front of the hotel, so there's no privacy if youre swimming. People off the street can just look in the pool. No laundry service. Didn't like the fact I could hear noise from off the streets with cars, people talking etc. There was no blackout curtains, so it was way too bright in the room. On the balcony, they have carpeting that had missing pieces. Overall, it was a good stay because with the kitchenette, we were able to make our own breakfast and enjoy our family time, even though the weather was unpredictable there; some days were cold and windy, and my allergies were not happy with that at all. But we made the trip fun regardless!

I took my sister to the beach for her 60th birthday and we booked with Darlington due to the positive reviews, and now I get to leave one. The location is perfect because it’s literally across the street from the beach and Wicked Tina (a bar/restaurant). Also, the boardwalk starts adjacent to the motel. We did not use the car one time and walked to eat, shop, have cocktails and listen to live bands. You won’t need a car unless you want to leave the beach itself. The room was sparkling clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I usually wake up during the night but I slept through both nights we were there. The ocean view was extraordinary and we were able to people watch from our balcony! It is very quiet at night. I think next time we come I may want to check out one of the cottages! Location is perfect ❤️. The owner’s son checked us in and he was super friendly and answered all our questions. I can’t believe I forgot his name but he was so kind to us and personable. My sister and I tend to babble alot and he handled it like a champ! He was awesome.

We enjoyed our stay and really loved the ocean/beach views from the 3rd floor. No cons to report. The property condition appeared similar to most in the area. It had all the amenities needed and everyone was friendly. It wasn’t warm enough for us to use the pool but some people did and seemed to enjoy it. Everything was 5-8 minutes away by driving. We walked to Family Kingdom. There are plenty of great restaurants around.

We enjoyed our stay at the Darlington. Loved that it was pet friendly and so close to the beach and boardwalk. The owners were amazing and gave great service and hospitality. They gave us some good ideas for our dinners out and even let us use a wagon to take all our beach chairs and towels. I would highly recommend staying here!

The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Our room was a bit dated, but clean. The pool was nice as well and staff offered us poolside games/ rafts/ beach toys to borrow. It was great being so close to the beach and enjoying the view from the balcony. Only downside was no elevator, but that wasn't an issue for us. Great family owned place!
