SureStay Hotel by Best Western Thomson

If you like, sleeping in a stinky noisy room, you’ll love this place. Weekday stay empty hotel yet they had to shove us on the second floor without an elevator. As soon as we walked in it smelled of mold, and the window was wide open so they knew it. The owner of this hotel also owns a bar and golf course on the same property. At 7 AM they felt they needed to mow the golf course right below and directly adjacent to our room. Continental breakfast consist of pop tarts, and prepackaged muffins. Staff was nice.

Clean rooms, great prices and excellent and friendly service at the bar with fantastic food. The chicken is amazing we will be back for sure

The room was nice, clean, and comfy. The wifi was solid. The "continental breakfast" was standard. The price was the lowest I found in town! The attached bar and restaurant are convenient and very popular! Unfortunately, the popularity of the bar was not a positive for me, as there were a lot of revelers coming and going late into the night. This might not have been as much of an issue if I hadn't been at the end of the hall by the exit. The door slammed every time anyone went through it, which was particularly frequent on Friday and Saturday until sometime after midnight. There's also a golf course that shares the lot (another draw, if you're into it), and it was PACKED on Friday night, which I'm sure contributed to the heavy traffic flow. The stairwell was adjacent to my room and I could hear everyone thudding up and down the stairs, as well. The walls of the place must be pretty thin. One night/morning someone had a dog in their room that barked for what seemed like hours. I got a text asking about my experience after the first night, to which I described the issues and requested a different room, but never got a reply. I guess it was automated with no one on the other side? I wouldn't stay here again, but you might like it if you're there to party.

The place is clean and MORE THAN sufficient for an overnight stay. Bar was well stocked and Bartender was wonderful. Sunday breakfast was missing. I showed up at 7, no one was in the breakfast area. Lights were off and there was nothing to consume unless you consider the wrapped Blueberry Muffins "Breakfast"

The stay was good. However, pet friendly rooms are down on the opposite end of the building of the designated area for potty breaks is located. We have a senior 14 year-old dog and a 3 year-old dog who is recovering from surgery. The 2nd floor was not the best of option for dog friendly rooms. Cleanliness was good really no complaints. Recommend to provide extra bags for the small trash cans. I am a traveling healthcare professional and have some of those bags that have made it home with me, they came in handy! Staff were nice and service was okay. I never received my 4:30am wake-up call that was requested. I phone ordered food from the restaurant located inside of the hotel. A wonderful option to provide room service with a small delivery fee for hotel guests only, would be ideal. I ordered 2 exact meals: cheeseburger with fries and cheese sauce. I was told 15 minutes. I went down to get my food but it wasn’t ready. I sat at the bar and enjoy a beer while I waited. It was probably another 20 minutes of waiting, not sure what happened there. The restaurant is nice and has decent priced food and drinks. For two meals and the beer it was $29. I left a $10 tip. The property overall is in good condition. Landscaping could use some upgrading, especially on a golf course. Breakfast was you’re basic grab-n-go continental style danish, and cold cereal. I think that restaurant in the hotel could work together on a breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs and biscuit w/gravy. Big Rooms!

Property was nice and clean. Only problem we had was our room was upstairs above or to the left of the bar. The music and karaoke was way to loud they dont even turn it down a little like after 10 pm so people can sleep pretty ridiculous.

If steps are a problem, ask for a disabilty room because they are on the first floor and there is no elevator. Overall, I highly recommend this motel. We had a great time!

HOTEL ROOM HEATER DID NOT WORK AND THEY DID NOT CHANGE MY ROOM. I HAD TO OPEN WINDOW TO COOL ROOM OFF AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. SEWAGE BACKED UP INTO THE SHOWER AND WAS LEFT LIKE THIS FROM THE CLEANING STAFF. NO GOOD

This was a very disappointing experience. Our room was not very clean, dead bugs on windowsill, gross. Breakfast was a huge disappointment: only sweet stuff, no eggs, no sausage, no fresh fruit, no oatmeal, no tea or decaf coffee, no water pitcher or water bottles, coffee was not even in the breakfast area. No elevator in building. No fitness center. No canopy or overhang area where we could unload our car, we got soaking wet from the rain while lugging in all our luggage and supplies. No luggage carrier on wheels. This motel or hotel was very dated, with little or no normal amenities and conveniences. To make matters worse, the toilet in our hotel room became completely clogged/plugged and unuseable, just from normal usage, and the employees didn't seem to bat an eye or offer any assistance. One said she might be able to get us a plunger but never did. Because of the time change (daylight savings time) we kept getting locked out of our room. We would like to speak to someone about this and get some sort of partial refund or credit. We've stayed in many places over the years and have never had such an all-around bad experience.

Basic but very clean and well maintained. The front eesk people were very kind helpful and seemed to honestly want to make our visit go well

Staff there was great. Local people we met were so friendly. Hotel needs some work our room was musty smelling. Bathroom definitely needed updates. The tub had caulking in the bottom. It apparently must of had holes they repaired. Toilet seat heavily worn. I don't know why our room smelled musty. We traveled there with other couples. Rooms were the same. The food they served was really good. The free breakfast food had out dated yogurt. So beware and check dates. Probably will stay somewhere else, but visit the bar n grill for sure.

The place was very clean and comfortable a great bar. I really was disappointed not having a hot breakfast like eggs toast and waffles etc but I definitely will stay here again when I come visit Thomson Illinois

SureStay has become our "go-to" place when visiting family in the Savanna area. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The location is convenient to family. The restaurant provides everything needed for a relaxing stay.

This hotel just outside of Savanna was a pleasant surprise. The room was large and had a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator, and our first floor room overlooked the golf course. I loved being able to have the window open for fresh air and a lovely view. Continental breakfast was included. It wasn't the typical hot breakfast you get at some hotels, but the big breakfast sandwich you just heat up was great and other items offered like bread, bagels, pastries, yogurt, milk, coffee, dry cereal, and fruit were adequate. We also enjoyed the bar and restaurant on the property as well as the little bar across the parking lot (Majestic Pines). I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

Don't let the outside or the inside bar fool you. I arrived late at night. But the host greeted me and was very friendly and polite. The room was great. It was very quite in the rm as I had a room away from the bar. I will definitely stay here again *****

It was pretty clean. I’ve seen worse. TV was pretty small for the king size room we had. It was all the way across the room could barely read the close caption. Nothing for breakfast but pop tarts, muffins, and cereal. Apple juice and orange juice. waffle iron was on a table, not plugged in. Very disappointed in breakfast.

Furniture doesn’t match shower was wonderful and bed was comfortable

I was very disappointed in this hotel. The bar and was extremely loud. You could hear people talking all night long on both sides of my room through the bathrooms. There were smells in the hallway. Phone network was terrible in Thompson. I would never stay here again, and I would not recommend going here unless you drink and party all night long

Lobby was not well marked and I have to walk to find it. and it went down from there. The staff was OK, but check-in was slow and the outside door to the room hallway would not close. The room I got smelled musty. The AC was very noisy when the compressor clicked in. When I check out, No body was at the counter so I went to the breakfast. No Fruit, no Cereal, Nothing hot except a waffle. When I left someone was at the desk and he asked me is the AC worked. I told him it did but was very noisy. It was very coinvent for where i needed to go but, If I go back, I will look else where and drive a little.

Staff was AMAZING!! Kimmie , as usual, was AWESOME!! I never stay anywhere else.

We are so glad we found this accommodation! We visit our grandkids who live in Savanna where the only hotel has become prohibitive expensive. This place is all you need to get away from those brats for a while! Only 5 miles away.

Friendly staff, bar had great service. Low prices on food and so delicioso. Clean rooms and comfortable beds

The bathroom vanity was small. You could hardly put make up or your toothbrush supplies on there… Had to set stuff on the back of the toilet if you wanted more space…The shower creaked like there was nothing below the tub shell. My tile was cracked like they had to dig under it. Outdated inside rooms. Get what you pay for. Said they had a continental breakfast… I'm not sure that I having a waffle maker constitutes as a continental breakfast. Disappointing .

We were very disappointed in the continental breakfast. There was no danishes no bread no bagels nothing to make toast two kinds of cereal. The only thing you could get were pop tarts and waffles. Little disappointed, most continental breakfast have at least biscuits and gravy some kind of bread for toast And more than two choices for a dry cereal.

We did not know we needed to ask if we wanted our room cleaned, however once found out our room was cleaned nicely. The standard of continental breakfast was not what was expected. A toaster with no bread our butter, limited option of pop tart our sugary cereal with milk. No yogurt, no bagels, no fruit. I only had coffee. That should have been more up to standard.

They had a golf event, all the golfers ate the breakfast items, so by the time we ate at 8:30 am, nothing was left ir restocked.

This hotel in a hidden gem. The food is amazing and a great price. We always have the best experience with all the staff. The bar is a fun atmosphere with fun locals. The only negative is that the wifi is horrible and any signal is hard to come by.
