We stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the 8th floor and was more a suite than a room. It comprised a king size bed, large couch, table for two and a bathroom. This room also had the added benefit of a private terrace/garden with river views. Quality of fitout was of a high standard and also included were robes and slippers. Additional facilities included in the room rate were three pools (and outdoor horizon pool, an indoor swimming pool and an indoor spa), sauna, steam room and a tennis court. In terms of dining there is a pool bar, another bar and a restaurant as well as room service. We ate at all four areas and the food was consistently good as was the service. We also had breakfast each day in the restaurant which had a good range of food and drink. The staff were exceptional and friendly and made our stay enjoyable. Overall an amazing stay.

Views are beautiful!!! My recommendation to property: fix the elevators. A lot of the elevator buttons don’t work. Saw multiple people confused about the elevator because some buttons don’t light up. One of my pillows had a yellow stain on it. It was clean but the stain was unpleasant. Discard it if bleach does not remove a stain. The service at breakfast could be improved upon. They were out of a lot of items. Also, there was a massive line to get coffee. If it takes so long to get a cappuccino/latte, why not have servers offer coffee to guests instead of making that self serve as well? I actually don’t think I’ve ever gone anywhere where I had to get my on coffee during breakfast…. They were also out of coffee cups….

prachtig en luxe hotel direct aan de Douro. Gratis partkeren in de parkeergarage. Mooie kamer met balkonnetje uitkijkend over de rivier. Nespresso apparaat op de kamer. De Douro wordt nauwelijks bevaren en er heerst ultieme rust. Zeeer uitgebreid fantastisch ontbijtbuffet. Diner was erg goed; Nederlandse prijzen; uitgebreide wijnkaart. prachtige wellness; binnen en buiten zwembad met grote ligweide met zonnestretchers. infinity pool; sauna en stoombad; uitkijkend over de Douro. zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

The location is truly stunning. The view from the top floor and pool area is so spectacular. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was top quality and so much choice. Dinner was also excellent although pricy. The spa and pools were great as well. Overall the hotel is a great spot, some of the decor felt outdated and outdoors some repairs are needed. But we were very happy with our stay.

Grand property with spectacular views. Modern design. Free garage parking. Spa didn’t meet expectations, but otherwise facilities are great for a relaxing trip to the wine country. Be prepared to navigate twisty roads to get there and move around the wine country. A lot of fun if you enjoy spirited driving.

Um dos hotéis mais incríveis em que fiquei. Quartos ótimos com uma vista única sobre o Douro. Tenho apenas a salientar a falta de limpeza da piscina. Pelas 12h a piscina ainda not inja sido limpa e tinha vários insetos. Também de realçar falta de manutenção na casa de banho com as portas e rodapés ligeiramente descascados o que não traduz a qualidade geral do hotel.

A beautiful, clean hotel on the Douro Valley. Opening the balcony door in the morning, a fresh breeze greeted me, and the sound of roosters crowing in the distant mountains marked a beautiful start to the day. The room and bed were comfortable. And the breakfast was super. I'd definitely stay here again.

I had someone smoking next door to my room and couldn’t leave my door open to get air. It also smelled like sewage in my room. I felt the staff weren’t super friendly or helpful. Not worth the money for sure. They charge 7€50 for room service but it’s not very good and I’m small print.

Check in over en og en halv time forsinket uten noen form for tegn for beklagelse. (Her kunne en enkel gratis kopp kaffe kommet langt). Dette er off session, så få gjester i tillegg. Når rommet ble klart hadde de ikke fått satt inn babyseng, så ble et ekstra irritasjonsmoment. De hadde et lite lekerom for barn (som er ett pluss) men som var direkte skittent, og veldig gamle, slitne leker. Treningsrommet var lite og utstyret gammelt og/eller defekt. Vi bestilte take away på rommet da babycall ikke gikk ned til restaurant, men maten kan desverre heller ikke anbefales. Vi fikk feil mat som vi ikke gadd klage på, og spesielt godt var det heller ikke. Hotellet har en flott beliggenhet og bærer preg av å ha vært fint en gang.. for flere tiår siden, for her var det mye å ta tak i. Hotellet har fem stjerner grunnet fasiliteter de har, men ikke grunnet personal og at det er tidsriktig. Her er det mye etterslep.

This hotel needs a major refresh & a new interior designer. Too stark and dated with the exception of the light fixtures, which were very cool! The bed & pillows are terrible! Like sinking into a hole. Massages were equally below standard! The whole place feels like an episode from Severance. However, the breakfast buffet and the view were excellent!

Checking in was unusual. No bell man and at spa the woman who was in charge, she give you order instead of helping. Would never returned this hotel. Only good was breakfast nothing else. 5 stars hotel with 2stars service.

The view was gorgeous. Not much in the vicinity as far as restaurants and things to do. It takes like 25 minutes to get to a major road. Dinner was okay, the limited menu did not change in 3 nights. Surprisingly moderately priced given not much alternative and the high level of service.
