This has always been our favorite place to stay. The hotel is getting a little tired and the common areas are not kept as clean as they used to be. The pool towels were also small and super thin. It is unfortunate as this hotel is in a great location and could be fabulous with a little more attention paid to the common areas of the hotel.

Clean, pleasant appearance. Fireplaces in and out not operational, TV never worked properly, restaurant not open as much as previously, some staff seemed to be just going through the motions, not really hoteliers. We have stayed many times in the past and have been thrilled. Will give it another chance as we suspect they are still recovering from the pandemic.

Well we arrived and it started out fine- the room was 309 very small and very small bathroom, but adequate. They do have an electric car charger which is convenient. We asked about the gym which is a room in the basement- very small but we were happy they had two peloton bikes! Yay! We planned to ride in the morning and then check out and go for a hike. Well we spent 20 minutes trying to get the bikes to work- one the seat adjust is stripped and it is stuck very low- the other does not go on. So then we had to change our plans and go for a hike - we asked for an 11:30 check out (just 30 minutes late as we wasted time trying to get the bikes to work) and the front desk said no. So we left immediately and checked into the Equinox early and have had a wonderful day here! As a side note when you arrive at the Kimpton you get a ticket for one wine or one beer in the library from 5-6. but at the Equinox it is a wine social from 4-6 for everyone - no one ticket one drink situation. Also the room is much bigger. Also the staff at the Equinox did not seem so bothered by the guests as we felt at the Kimpton. (sorry Kimpton- I asked a few questions- we have never been here... sorry to put you out with having to answer- Only one front desk person was smiling and she was the woman who helped us with setting up our car in the charger.- thank you to her!

The hotel is very nice though with a few more issues than I would expect. The only elevator was out of service for 2 of the 3 days mid week. I reserved an advertised room with fireplace but on arrival was told none of the in-room fireplaces worked. False advertising. The heating in my upgraded room was drafty. The bath layout was a mess. The glass shower door hit the toilet and interfered with the bathroom door. In the men’s room in the lobby, the stall door could not latch - my wife confirmed the same problem in the ladies room. Oh, and the bar closed at 8:30pm. The staff were great and helpful! The restaurant was very good though the Orange Duck had no orange flavor. The eggs Benedict were very good at breakfast. Would I return? I doubt it.

Exceptional. We are fans of Kimpton and we loved this property in particular. Pet friendly, nicely appointed comfortable rooms, great coffee, beautiful common areas including the front and back verandas, fire pit, grassy area, and landscaping. The food was disappointing however. We had dinner twice in the Copper Grouse and found everything bland. The food was beautifully presented but the steak and burger had no flavor, the eggplant dip had no flavor, the salmon rik kettle had no flavor and while it was a beautiful mix of fresh vegetables, the salad dressing had no flavor. The exception we’re the excellent breakfast sandwich and pancakes which were scrumptious. But we will return to the hotel but look for other dining options. The cocktails were great. We weren’t too impressed with the format of the wine reception so we didn’t partake in that amenity.

Was a nice place, plenty of perks for a comfy stay. Coffee and tea offered all day, plus iced tea and water. Usually fruit and a snack is also avaiy. Nice wine social hour to enjoy too. Tickets to Hilden were a pleasant surprise too.

Horribly NOISY with many property windows facing the too-close street. Terrible design flaw to put a country hotel up against a busy road where people walk at night on the weekend and party music and traffic sounds are constantly heard. Generally, shabby and needs refreshing. The grout in the bathroom was gone. The rude front desk said no tubs were available; what upscale hotel lacks tubs? However, the room service food was fantastic. The lobby fireplace was a nice touch. Best of all they allow cats, and for that reason would go again.

Lovely common areas and helpful, sweet staff, but the rooms are very basic. Our AC was extremely loud, didn’t work that well. the big shower had the stingiest shower head that barely warmed one of us.

We loved our short stay at the Taconic, it's now our new favorite place for a quick getaway. The service was excellent. Our room was comfortable, very clean and had the sweetest fireplace. Looking forward to our next stay!

Lovely hotel. We stayed here second time and will definitely come back again. We enjoyed the premises which is pet friendly and superb for our cat to stay with us in hotel room. We (with our cat) enjoyed our hotel room which was spacious, clean and had a lovely view of the mountains which was special to see on cold days with snow outside. We stayed three days two nights and appreciated the slightly earlier check-in accommodated to us. It was also nice to have the free coffee in mornings and drink vouchers in evenings with snacks (nice touch). The staff are friendly and warm. In room amenities are superb but just found it odd that we have to request kettle or coffee machine and room doesnt have it. Also would be great if there was microwave in room. The shower was nice but the knobs were slightly tricky to work it. There was no drinking water provided in room which would have been nice if 1-2 bottles. The bed was comfortable and clean. The location of hotel was superb, close to main city center while in quiet area. We liked that we were only few minutes out from many ski destinations- perfect for winter trip. The hotel has nice amenities with beautiful lounge area with fireplace as well as great restaurant. Although we found the food at the restaurant quality had dropped from last year and was very very pricy ($50 per person without drinks plus tips). We like the fact that the staff and hotel is friendly for our cat which we really appreciate and hope to come back again soon!

The general manager Lequesa is beyond rude. She shouldn’t be in any type of management position. I highly recommend staying at another hotel. The staff is horrible and hotel is not worth the money.

This hotel had excellent service. I arrived an hour early and they were more than accommodating. As a guest I was given a free entry to hildeen and a coupon for happy hour where I could get a free glass of wine. Up until that moment my whole day was going terribly. They turned a very bad day into an awesome experience. Both the ladies doing the checking in we're wonderful. The wine host was also excellent. The room was immaculate. As of the time I arrived to this hotel I had already checked into nine of the hotels and by far this was my best experience.

The staff was so welcoming from the moment we first entered until we departed. The Inn feels like a home for everyone who loves to relax and enjoy the beauty of Vermont. Eating breakfast on the front porch each morning was a highlight of our stay. We look forward to returning in the fall.

I had another lovely stay at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester, VT. This was my second time staying with my family of four, plus a group of friends. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the pillows are soft — just the way I like them. The hotel’s location is excellent, with a short drive to both Stratton Mountain Resort and Bromley Mountain Ski Resort. The on-site restaurant, The Copper Grouse, is a solid option for food, and the town of Manchester is so quaint, with charming shops, a supermarket, and plenty of great restaurants — all within walking distance from the hotel. We’ll definitely be back for our next skiing trip!

Loved the decor of the hotel. Rooms were comfortable. Restaurant was great - French toast was awesome, the whipped cream was soooo good! Water for hot tea was brought out in little cast iron tea pots. Pancakes were the best also. Great location -easy access to shopping and hiking! Social hour was nice - enjoyed a glass of wine on the spacious porch!
