Casa do Riacho

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Francisco’s villa!! The home has everything you need for cooking, using the pool, kayaking the river and relaxing. The property is beautiful and pristine, with clean bedrooms, fresh grapes and oranges growing outside, outdoor seating to enjoy the view, and access to the Pinhao river. The walk to nearby Pinhao is about 10 minutes. Francisco was an excellent host. A month before our trip he sent recommendations for wineries, restaurants and attractions. Upon check in, he gave us an extensive tour of the house and property, and left us fresh oranges to juice during our stay. When we had an issue with the washing machine, he quickly sent a technician to fix it and was very understanding. We were so impressed with the hospitality and accommodations, and spending time in the pool and patio were highlights of our trip. Thank you so much to Francisco and his family!!

This place does not disappoint. Our host met us and provided a lovely tour of this property. From the riverfront location to the vine-covered gardens to the warmth and spaciousness of the property, it was love at first sight! We were only here for two nights, but loved this location and the wineries and restaurants nearby did not disappoint. We will definitely be back, but for a longer stay next time. Thank you Francisco for your hospitality and obvious pride in your home - it was such a pleasure to stay here!

This home is so well taken care of. We woke up to the sound of birds every morning and with incredible views of the vineyards. We were allowed to pick oranges and lemons from the property's trees. Plenty of room for 8 people and a 12 minute walk into town. The place was exceptionally clean and Francisco was always quick to respond to any questions. Francisco provided us with restaurant and tour suggestions before we arrived. We felt very taken care of and felt at home. This is the place to stay in Pinhao.

This is a lovely property near a lovely town. We enjoyed everything about our stay. We used the kayaks and every patio space. We made fresh orange juice from the many orange trees on the property.

Der Aufenthalt in der "Casa do Riacho" war sehr schön: Perfekte Lage an einem kleinen Nebenfluss des Douro, mit "eigenem Anleger" für im Haus vorhandene Kajaks; vielfältige Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten im Haus und auf verschiedenen Terassen und Sitzgelegenheiten über das sehr grosse Grundstück verteilt; Grundstück mit Weinreben, Zitronen- und Orangenbäumen - jeden Tag frisch gepresste "eigene" Orangen zum Frühstück; nur wenige Geh-Minuten bis Pinhao, einem schönen kleinen Ort in idealer Lage inmitten des Dourotals, mit unzähligen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in alle Richtungen und für unterschiedlichste Interessen; Sehr nette und freundliche Gastgeber, die uns mit vielfältigen Informationen zur Geschichte des Hauses versorgt haben, zu Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Weinverkostungen, Ausflügen etc.; insgesamt kann man ein Ferienhaus kaum besser finden, dieses verdient sicher eine Top-Bewertung!
